Only Way is Up

Rate this book
Say the name Chloe Sims and most people think of the hugely entertaining, bubbly and glamorous Essex girl on the hit TV show The Only Way is Essex . But there is more to Chloe than viewers see on the TV, and the drama doesn't stop when the camera stops rolling. Just two years ago, Chloe was a single mother struggling to make ends meet doing a string of jobs she hated and wondering if she would ever find happiness. Then, at the beginning of 2011, after joining the cast of TOWIE , she won the hearts of the nation with her funny ways and frank confessions. Since joining the cast, her life—which has been anything but ordinary—is now a whirlwind of glitzy parties and jet-set holidays, but life hasn't always dealt Chloe a good hand. Her story is one of triumph over adversity—with plenty of laughs along the way. From her turbulent childhood where she was raised by a neighbor after her mother abandoned her, to battling with bullies and struggling with an eating disorder, to the magical moment when she met the man of her dreams. But even the path to true love hasn't run smoothly for Chloe, and she has experienced plenty of ups and downs along the way. Finally, things are on the up and the future is looking bright for the 30-year-old Essex girl. In Chloe The Only Way Is Up , Chloe finally sets the record straight; speaking frankly about the plastic surgery she's had done, what it was really like working for Playboy France and how she coped with her rollercoaster ride to stardom—with plenty of shocking revelations and secrets she's never told, until now. This is her story, and it's not like any other you will read.

Okay so i came across this book (signed copy) in the local £1 shop I like her on TOWIE so thought I would give it a go. Started great really opened my eyes to what she has been through, then Mr Starship came in to it and that became the focus of the whole book, not sure how she could of ended the book but im sure there was better ways, Also I can understand were people who have left reviews are coming from she does repeat herself a lot in it unnecessary (we know you don't like house music you said 3 times already). Her relationship with Mr Starship is slightly blind by his charm and good looks. As she is now with Elliott Wright im guessing she finally woken up to this.
Over all it was a fast read which I enjoyed.

i gave up on this autobiography about 3/4s through, i personally found it very repetitive and quite contradicting. i really like chloe in towie, however in this booki she talks about how 'mr starship' is the love of her life, yet i didnt read of any happy times they shared, only about him standing her up and letting her down etc. she also talks about having such low self esteem reagarding weight/boobs etc that led to her getting surgery but in the next chapter shes full of confidence. i think i just got bored of it all and went on to find something much more interesting to read!

Came across this book in a charity shop for 50p. It’s like 10 years old now and was written from her early TOWIE days.
I like Chloe Sims so I was interested in reading about her life. A broken sad childhood after her mother totally abandoned her and we still don’t know why? Or what really happened to her aunt that disappeared.
And what can I say about her “Mr Starship”. I feel like all I’ve read about is the amount of times she dumped her daughter with anyone she could find, to go and chase that man around the world for 5 years. A man who couldn’t commit to her or even say that they were in a relationship. It was frustrating reading about him. He continuously gas lighted her and left her stranded and waiting hundreds of times over and yet she still pined for that pr1ck. I feel like she should have named and shamed him so he can’t go on to treat other women like that without people knowing who he really is.
Her daughters dad weren’t much better either and refused to accept his father responsibilities and left it to his parents and thank god for them!
I hope she never lets men treat her like that ever again and to not be a doormat.

I really enjoyed getting to know more about Chloe by reading her book. Though I found the whole story about Mr Starship a bit sad. I felt like he was messing her around a lot and she could of done so much better.

I love Chloe in Towie but this book was not what I expected... I feel it was all about 'Mr Starship' and not chloe.

I read this book in a day !
I wanted to see more of what she has done with her little girl.

It was more focuses on men and partying and bit of plastic surgeon.

There was more of information about when she was little at the start. But this book is about her life story I guess.

From the bulling at school she would have staied natural to prove a point that you can go far with personality not plastic surgery.
Everyone has there own way of dealing with things.

At the end of the book as some realises for helpful websites for mental help , charity organisation for eating disorders and bulling campaign.

I wish she wrote more on how she helped her self with mental health (post natal depression) and her eating disorders to help others out there who suffer with similar problems . No one is alone in life there is always help out there.

Maybe she wants to keep her little family (her and daughter a private life from the the whole fame ect) which is her personal views .
I just feel she don't show her being a mum a lot and I want to see that side of her as she has a daughter .

She has been though a lot eg suicidal thoughts and actions. with the abortion ect .

I just didn't like how her daughter was always here there and everywhere , someone to baby sit her a lot. But that's how her life style is .

I rated this book a 5 for effort but 3 out 5 overall. She has gone far from this book to now.

To be honest, I wasn't sure how to rate this book as on one hand it did keep me entertained, and I read it all the way through without getting bored, while on the other hand... well, it left me feeling very frustrated due to one particular "storyline" that ran through the book.

While Chloe herself seems nice enough she really does come across as being really damn naive in her autobiography, especially when it comes to men (or, in this case, the mysterious "Mr Starship"). Yes, many of us have had that One Special Person who we fawn over and run after time and time again even though we know, deep down, it's a lost cause, so perhaps I'm being unfair, but reading about it happening to someone else is SO frustrating! The running theme of the book seems to be: drop everything to meet Mr SS, drop daughter off with family, meet Mr SS, get treated badly by Mr SS, pine for Mr SS, get call/text from Mr SS, drop everything... ad infinitum.

As the book progressed I was waiting for her to snap out of it, tell him to bog off and become a stronger person. I'll admit, I don't watch TOWIE that often, so I didn't go into this book with a good idea of how things would pan out and perhaps it's written with those people in mind.

This women should be proud of herself, what a crap start in life she had.
Chloe really went to hell & back to get where she is now, anyone that knows her or are members of her family should be soo very proud off her.

Open & honest about many things that could have been kept out the book for her daughters sake in later years.

Loved reading this back to back with Sam's book, & Nanny Pats.

All TOWIE fans should read it.

Interesting however did feel at times that of she is struggling for money then why is she shopping in Selfridges & wearing Louboutins?
I like Chloe however this didn't make me warm to her any more than normal... When I read Cheryl Coles autobiography I really felt for her, not so much with Chloe though.

I am so surprised at this book, I thought it would be just an average read but I whizzed through it in 2 days, that is amazing for me. There is something about Chloe you just have to like. Mr Starship sounds like a control freak though , everything is his way or the highway and I hope she wakes up and moves on.

I agree with some of the other reviews, book was repetitive and was based pretty much around her chasing Mr Starship. Enjoyed reading about her childhood though and how close her family is. Shame it trailed off about half way through.

Not too bad, but why is she chasing around a 'Mr.Starship' who clearly isn't too fussed about her! Apart from that's it's really what you'd expect from a reality TV's autobiography. A nice book to read when you've not a lot of time & want something easy going

I read amazing reviews of this book so jumped on the band wagon to see. I think it's badly written, padded out and not as interesting as I expected it to be. Sorry Chloe!
