Logan Blaise expected to be taking a quick break from his successful vineyard in Napa to visit his hometown of Brooklyn. But what he finds is a complete His father is sicker than he'd imagined and Logan is responsible for keeping the family restaurant running smoothly. When the chef quits, he's forced to hire the first person who applies for the job—Skye Maxwell, a beautiful enigma with great skills and gaps in her résumé. Skye is determined to make it on her own, without trading on her famous family name. Working in the community of Red Hook offers the perfect opportunity to stay out of the limelight while pursuing her dreams. At first glance, charismatic Logan seems exactly like all the shallow men she knew back home. But as she notices his small-town roots and strong family ties, the Brooklyn bad boy and his restaurant start to feel exactly like where she really belongs . . .
Robin Kaye was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in the shadow of the Brooklyn Bridge next door to her Sicilian grandparents. Living with an extended family that’s a cross between Gilligan’s Island and The Sopranos, minus the desert isle and illegal activities, explains both her comedic timing and the cast of quirky characters in her books.
She’s lived in half a dozen states from Idaho to Florida, but the romance of Brooklyn has never left her heart. She currently resides in Maryland with her husband, three children, two dogs, and a three-legged cat with attitude.
I so enjoyed Back to You by Robin Kaye that I could not wait to read You're the One, book number two in the Bad Boys of Red Hook Series. I was so excited when I received this book in the mail I danced out of the post office and could not wait to start reading it. It certainly lived up to all my expectations. Ms. Kaye has created a wonderful group of charming, delightfully compelling characters that I cannot wait to visit again. She not only has written new friends for me to enjoy but a wonderful story line that made it nearly impossible for me to put the book down. I think it goes without saying the Ms.Kaye has a faithful new fan in me. OK I've probably gushed enough but I can't say enough about how much I am loving this series and I can not wait to read the next book.
Skye Maxwell is a brilliant chef that wants nothing more than her own kitchen. She is a smart, independent woman that is going to make it and stand on her own two feet. She doesn't care if her family likes it or not. I instantly felt a connection with Skye and loved watching her make it on her own merits. This girl has what it takes to run her own kitchen.
Logan Blaise has what he thinks is the perfect life. He has a job he likes and a fiance that he thinks he's compatible with. Then he meets Skye, this woman makes Logan feel things he didn't even know existed. Skye basically threw Logan for a loop and he doesn't know what to do about. It's adorable watching this big, strong, tough guy who has been a little on the stiff side falling deeply in love for the first time in his life.
This cute, compelling couple does have a few things to work out and a few misunderstandings try to get in their way. Love, understanding, and communications can fix a lot of things though. In my opinion this book ends with one of those awww moments. It is really a sweet love story.
I so loved this book. If you love small town family romances I think you'll love this book. I know I most certainly will be looking forward to book three. Oh my I wonder what story Ms. Kaye has in store for us next, she certainly has my attention.
I was very lucky to receive an ARC to read and it has been my pleasure to share my thoughts with you about this book.
It’s always hard for me to write reviews for books I love so much. I worry that I won’t get my point across, that my words will be incoherent, that people will think I need to be medicated for the safety of others, most of all I worry that I’ll disappoint the author’s fans which is something I would hate to do. I’ve been reading Robin Kaye’s work since I downloaded a free copy of Romeo, Romeo about 2 1/2 years ago. I was immediately hooked and I’ve since read everything the woman has written. The hero from that book, Nick Romeo, is the one I have measured all of her other heroes against and while there have been many I have loved up until now, Nick stood on top of that pedestal all alone. After reading You’re The One, it’s time for him to move over because Logan Blaise is now standing up there right alongside of him and damn that is one pretty sight!
Logan Blaise…where do I begin? His childhood was not pretty, in fact it was pretty horrible until Pop (Pete Callahan) rescued him and gave him a home along with his “brothers” Storm and Slater. From there on out he worked hard and make something of his life. He’s been living the life in the wine country of California and is engaged to his boss’s daughter whom he readily admits he doesn’t love because he’s incapable of that emotion but it makes good business sense. Then he comes home to help run Pop’s bar and grill while Storm and Bree are on their honeymoon and his life is turned upside down; he rekindles old relationships, makes new friends, and begins to get to know the little girl who could possibly be his daughter. On top of that the day that Skye Maxwell walks in hoping to be the bar’s new chef Logan’s life is turned completely upside down and he begins to realize he misses the “old” Logan and how very little he recognizes the man he’s become.
When Skye Maxwell turns 30 she realizes that her father and brothers are never going to take her seriously as a chef, so what’s a girl to do? She packs her bags and heads for the furthest place from California, New York. Once there she realizes she has some holes in her great escape plan but after talking with her best friend, Kelly, she sets out to prove her worth as a chef. When she walks into the Crow’s Nest to answer a help wanted sign, she senses her life is about to change…she just has no clue how much.
Logan and Skye don’t get off on the right foot but this is mostly because Skye knows who Logan is and is worried he might recognize her. Logan on the other hand is fighting the lust he feels for Skye knowing that it is all kinds of wrong because he’s engaged. Meanwhile Pete, Nikki, and the rest of the Crow’s Nest gang all take Skye in and make her feel welcomed and a part of their odd little family. Skye tries to stay clear of Logan which disturbs him greatly. After an unscheduled visit that brings many of Logan’s secrets to the forefront, he breaks up with his fiancée and soon finds himself pursing the elusive Skye. I admit it was kind of fun watching Logan try and figure her out and why she resisted him so. I truly felt for Skye when their first little interlude was discovered and how mortified she was by it all. When she finds herself bombed after an evening with the girls, Logan is there to pick up the pieces and take care of her and I’ll admit this is when I fell completely and totally head over heels in love with the man. Any man who takes care of a woman not at her best especially when they’ve only just begun seeing each other is a keeper.
I’d like to say that it’s all wine and roses after that, but it’s not. Skye’s refusal to share her history with Logan and Logan’s work obligations lead to some really gut wrenching and emotional moments. While it’s easy to blame one or the other for their issues, I feel they were both at fault. Neither one was completely honest with the other one which led to a lot of trust issues. I must give kudos to Pete and Mary (Skye’s mother) for making both of them see the error of their ways and getting their act together.
I really can’t say enough good things about this story; the characters have depth, the story is emotional, humorous, and sexy as all get out, the dialog is entertaining, and the problems this couple faces is realistic. You’re The One is another fine example of a well written story and it is one of my favorites for the year so far and gives me another hero to measure other heroes against. After this book, I’m wondering if Robin Kaye is going to be able to make me like Slater, I kind of doubt it at this point but if anyone can do it…she can!
“ Ms. Kaye exceeded my expectations surprising me with more emotions, deeper connections between the characters and even a hotter hero for me to be in love with. Yes, another great book by Ms. Robin Kaye, indeed.” ~Under the Covers
You’re the One is the second installment of Bad Boys of Red Hook series by Robin Kaye. It is Contemporary, but Ms. Kaye had added a hint of foodie romance to its flare. As expected, Ms. Kaye did not disappoint and again released a well-written, sweet and sexy novel.
Logan and Skye are great together. They are both trying to find their place in this world; Skye, though independent and a great chef, she longs for equal respect while Logan is established career wise but not so much in the “true” love department. The things they lack in their current lives, they find in each other. I love that Ms. Kaye made them adults in every sense. They both made decisions with pride. I can respect that in people in real life and the characters I read about. In addition, you will not find angst in their relationship. No, when Logan decided to pursue Skye, there were no qualms about it. He was up front and just went for what he wanted. Logan is a bit more serious than Storm was, but he’s just as sexy. Skye couldn’t have been more perfect for Logan because she is just as serious about her goals in life. Oh, and Ms. Kaye did not forget to add sexy in their romance. Just remember that Skye is a chef and Logan is a wine maker. And you know what they say about people in that industry….they are known to be most passionate.
Characters from the previous books (Back to You and Hometown Girl) of course made their appearance. Nikki’s parentage is still in question, though she is oblivious to what is going on. Boy, that little girl is the sweetest thing. D.O.G was there as well. Simon the sexy bartender was there quite a bit. Storm and Bree was there but not as much. Pete, their dad was there still sneaking his beer and cigars. Rocki and Patrice are the funniest girlfriends Skye will ever have. They reminded me of my own friends…in college. They had me laughing and remembering the old days. However, the most intriguing are the Maxwell brothers. There is a big potential for a spin off with them. I can tell you right now; they can be stubborn, protective and they are sexy! I hope Ms. Kaye have plans for that because I would be the first in line to read about them.
I knew I was going to love this book, but I did not expect to love it more the first book. Ms. Kaye exceeded my expectations surprising me with more emotions, deeper connections between the characters and even a hotter hero for me to be in love with. Yes, another great book by Ms. Robin Kaye, indeed.
so, gimana hubungan Logan dan Skye ?
The book summary was well done by other reviewers so I will just give my thoughts:
What I like about You're The One:
* The setting of Red Rock is so well written that you feel like you've been there and are returning for a visit. Having read the first book; this is definitely true for me.
* The author has you caring about the characters focused on in this novel from the first page.
* The author uses humor in all of the the right places (she breaks up the tension very well this way).
* There is enough conflict to keep the story exciting, but not so much that you get angry with the characters for the constant angst/whining that they seem unable/unwilling to resolve. (I am personally tired of that in recent reads, that is why I mention it here).
*The flow of the story is seamless, with tight editing and engaging prose.
What I didn't like:
*That I have to WAIT for the next installment of this the stories of lives of this endearing group of family and friends.
Robin Kaye’s You’re The One has you hooked from the minute you turn the first page. The Bad Boys of Red Hook Series has yet to disappoint. Skye Maxwell is a successful chef determined to make it on her own, away from her family name and Logan Blaise is trying his best to keep his family name from his socialite fiancé. Both hiding from their pasts, their worlds collide in the town of Red Hook at the Crow’s Nest, Logan’s family’s restaurant. Skye and Logan’s attraction is instant and you are rooting for them from the beginning. But, like most couples hiding their pasts, they have a few obstacles to overcome before they can have their happily ever after. Robin Kaye’s writing will have you flipping through the pages faster than you can read. This book will leave you wanting more of the brothers of Red Hook, and hopefully we will get that soon enough with the third bad boy.
I had a little trouble with Logan's deception in regards to Payton (not that I liked that cold-hearted bitch) but I just couldn't figure how someone could live like that indefinitely. Besides who the hell would want to? It was no wonder that he fell so hard and so quickly for Skye, a woman with heart, soul along with emotions and attitude. I think Logan screwed up at the end but he did it for a good reason. He just should have explained that to Skye before and not after. I think the story had just enough conflict to keep the reader turning pages. I loved the end, well the restaurant scene anyway.
I will definitely be reading Slater's story next to see how all these loose ends get tied up.
I loved this book! I love Robin's Wild series, and You're the One was my first in the Red Hook series, but I am definitely going to get the ones before it too. I am hooked! Robin is a wonderful story teller and an awesome romance writer. I fell in love with the characters from the first pages. I love stories involving big families, even ones that aren't related by blood like the boys of Red Hook. It makes the love that runs between them even more special. I would highly recommend the Red Hook series, as well as any other title with the name Robin Kaye on it!! She rocks!!!
Great great story that I highly recommend to everyone. Follow the story of Logan while he learns how to love and Skye while she learns how to accept love. The only bad thing about a Robin Kaye book is that it's over too soon!!!
Audiobook. Would not recommend. I’m actually appalled that this has almost 4 stars..seriously ? Also this is the first book I’ve read by this author. For what it was I was entertained but frustrated a bit.
Logan is dude and Skye is Chef.
Setting the stage: it’s mainly in Brooklyn NY, restaurant called Redeye and everyone nosy af. Both mains are leaving what their lives behind were in Cali. Logan is back in NY to take care of his ill father and supervise his dad’s restaurant while his friend/brother(who’s job that is comes back from his honeymoon). Also Logan might have a 10 yo daughter or sister(she was dropped of by a former fling and his Pops adopted her). Chef, basically just had her 30th bday and was expecting her own restaurant like her brothers got, her family is big with fancy restaurant chain. She does the paper work side for her oldest brother and is involved Very little as a chef. Unsatisfied, she leaves on a plane to NY, finds herself in Brooklyn and happens to walk in as a help wanted just goes up at the Redeye.
Had problems with main characters, they were very childish with each other. The “oh I can’t be with you because I can’t.” Instead of talking clearly and sounding like a grown ass adult that knows what she wanted or what her goal was. Her goal being that she wanted to get away from her large overbearing, mainly male family and make her own way as a Chef using her own name to eventually have her own restaurant/kitchen.
Then Him, Logan, what a little bitch. He goes back to settle stuff with ex’s family(ex is a socialite and he works for her father’s vineyard, he was supposed to take over). At this point he broke with his ex some time before when she went to visit him. Anyhow he explains his situation with his boss (ex dad) and he accepts resignation, but there’s still an event, a wine tasting competition he will attend. At this moment he ignores Skye’s calls. Then his boss and his ex are with him, she’s all clingy and even lets her kiss him for pictures !! That is a big Dumb ass hoe. Obviously this was going to be a problem. At the beginning before he heads to the event he’s spotted with his ex and her dad by Skye’s best friend who snaps a compromising pic. But he still goes on to the event like this instead of halting everything. He’s such a sap.
Don’t get started on the other annoying ass woman at the Redeye.. Rocky and the other one... nosy AF !! Leave Skye the F alone when she wants to be. I would have socked them ages ago.
If you told me to identify the most standard romance novel ever written, I think this one would be in the running. That's not...necessarily a bad thing. I listened to it on audiobook because it was a suggestion when I was looking for "you're the one that I want" from Grease on Spotify. So I was pleasantly surprised when I read it. Most of the book isn't particularly unique, but the ending pleasantly surprised me, I liked most of the dynamics and side characters, and I liked reading about the communication between the two main characters. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for an easy, cozy read with just enough drama to keep things interesting.
You’re the One, Bad Boys of Red Hook #2, By Robin Kaye Grade: B
“Nice? Fine? Sugar, them’s fightin’ words. You don’t tell a man who licked chocolate frosting and whipped cream off your hot little body that it was fine and nice.”
Skye Maxwell slaved away in her family’s restaurants to prove to them she was just as capable as her four older brothers to run her own and make the family proud. When her thirtieth birthday comes and she gets promoted to Business Manager instead of keys to her own place Skye packs her bags and sets off to make a name for herself. Skye ends up in Red Hook, Brooklyn and stumbles upon the Crow’s Nest, who just so happens to need a chef. Within days Skye goes from nothing to having her own kitchen, apartment and dog named Pepperoni. The only bad thing is her fierce attraction to Logan Blaise, the owner’s son, and unfortunately he’s engaged to to someone from the life Skye left in San Francisco.
Logan Blaise thought he had everything he wanted: a job at a successful vineyard in Napa, money, a membership to a country club and a finance. Logan turned his back on Red Hook during college and no one in his new world knows where he grew up or that he was a foster kid. When he adoptive father gets sick Logan heads back to Red Hook and the new chef Skye. Skye is everything his fiance isn’t and soon Logan starts to feel emotions he never knew he had. Logan soon realizes he can’t live without Skye but he may just be too late.
I was hesitant to start You’re the One just because I struggled so much with Back to You, the first book in the series. Very quickly I found myself lost in Skye and Logan’s romance and couldn’t pull myself away. Their attraction is instant but I was not happy about it at first since Logan was engaged to another woman and I am not a fan of cheating. The author does a great job of addressing this issue early on and not letting it get in the way of Skye and Logan being together.
I really, really liked Skye. She is smart, funny and will stand up for herself. I liked how she got Logan to open up and see that he wasn’t really living his life back in Napa but just playing a part. I liked Logan a lot better than I thought I would and he surprised me with how much he loves his foster sister, Nicki and how much he wants to be a father to her. I love it when men enjoy being a dad and Logan’s love for Nicki just made me like him that much more.
All of the characters from the first book are back and for some reason I liked them all a lot more this time around. Pete, Patrice, Storm, Bree, Francis, Nicki and Rocki help make this book so good and provide a lot of great moments. I think that this series has finally gotten to the must read level and with Storm and Rocki’s book next I am going to be dying until January when I can get back into the world of the Crow’s Nest and Red Hook, Brooklyn.
I’m a big fan of Robin Kaye and have been since I first picked up one of her books a few years ago. Her writing is fun, her characters are interesting, and the plots move along really briskly. Her books also typically take place in different parts of metropolitan New York, which is always fun to read about. Because she was once a native you really feel like you are there. I received this book as an ARC and it is the second book in her Bad Boys of Red Hook series.
In this foodie-romance, we meet the second brother who was adopted into Pete Calahan’s family, Logan Blaise. Logan has made quite a name and reputation for himself in the wine community on the West Coast, but comes back to help with the family restaurant, The Crow’s Nest, while one of his brother Storm is on his honeymoon. Pete has had some health problems, which keeps the family a little closer than they had been the past few years, but Logan isn’t quite prepared for the number of crisis he encounters taking over for Storm and his new wife, Bree. After their cook leaves to attend to his own family emergency, Logan is forced to quickly find a chef/cook.
After living under her older brothers’ thumbs, Skye Maxwell is determined to step out on her own but she’s unsure the best way to do it. She takes a chance and finds a position at The Crow’s Nest on short notice, but not without the notice of the owner’s son, Logan. It turns out that while the replacement cook might have some secrets, she also happens to be an amazing cook. The question is can Logan keep their relationship professional?
I love, love, love foodie romance. This one wasn’t too heavy on the food part, but just enough to give you a little taste of the cooking action, while also giving you a little exposure to wine. Kaye’s characters had just the right amount of bang-your-head-against-the-wall frustration, mixed in with some killer chemistry. I really like that Kaye segues really well into future novels within this trilogy without giving too much away. One of the things that I liked best about this book was that the guys didn’t seem too good to be true, which I’ve found to happen in some of her other books. These guys were funny and good at what they did, but they weren’t good at everything and definitely had some identifiable flaws. Overall, an excellent summer read and an author I would definitely recommend checking out if you haven’t already. Perfect book for the beach or relaxing on a Saturday afternoon.
So I’d never read Robin Kaye before, and hadn’t even heard of her, but I was looking for a book to listen to while traveling and came across this in my library’s audiobook collection. It was pretty good. I would say it was better, but the characters didn’t grab me much, and they seemed to fall in love with each other super fast without much reason for it other than they both existed in the same city and worked under the same roof. That said, I enjoyed listening to it, probably mostly because I was familiar with the narrator and she was able to do the whole Brooklyn accent thing, which I wouldn’t have been able to do inside my head so I appreciated it. Anyway, so Logan was pretty cool, and to tell the truth, I liked all the of supporting characters, probably more than I actually liked the main characters.
The story is that Skye moves to Red Hook because her famous restaurateur parents didn’t give her her own restaurant when she turned thirty, and want her to remain doing the business end of their restaurant chain. Well, all Skye wants to do is cook, so she gets a job at the Crow’s Nest, a bar and restaurant in Brooklyn. Logan, a rock star vintner, is back in Red Hook from the Napa Valley to manage the Crow’s Nest for a month because the guy who he thinks of as his father just had a heart attack and needs watching over. Logan and Skye meet, and then for whatever reason, they start hanging out.
They’re not supposed to like each other at first because Logan is engaged to a douchey socialite, and so they try for like two days to ignore their attraction to each other, but obviously fail. Then in a pretty predictable and weak conflict, Logan has to go back to his job for some awards thing, and is photographed with his ex-fiance. Skye freaks out because she automatically assumes that he’s back together with her, and so naturally, she quits the job she’s had for like three weeks, and goes back to San Francisco.
This is definitely one of those novels where the whole relationship part doesn’t seem all that authentic. These two people are fine, but there’s no reason for them to be together. Neither is especially interesting either. Nonetheless, I liked the book. It wasn’t a book I read cover to cover in one sitting, and I didn’t carve out time to finish it like I would with something I was really into, but it was nice to discover a new author!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Logan is back in Red Hook, a place he thought he has seen the last of, however it seems to be a welcome relief from what he left in California. He left home and went to Stanford after high school, where he met a beautiful woman who he thought would be the perfect partner for his work and life, or at least they look good in the society pages. He has never told her where exactly in New York he came from but Payton is everything he thinks he needs, her family owns a vineyard and he is working a dream job. Yet when he is back home he wonders if his life with Payton is all it should be.
Pete Calahan is Logan's father, and he was adopted along with two other young boys, Storm and Slater who were all foster kids at the same time, with his strong former cop attitude he helped turn the three boys from troubled teens to successful men.
Logan is home helping run the family restaurant and bar, the Crow's Nest since his brother Storm recently married and is going on a honeymoon and Pete is convalescing from a recent heart attack. All is going well until the cook needs to take an extended leave of absence and they do not have a backup. So they put a sign in the window and in an amazingly short time, what seems like a miracle walks in the door.
Romansa klasik mulai muncul.
Logan’s story is the second in Kaye’s Bad Boys of Red Hook series, following last year’s Back to You. Most of the characters in the first book have a role in the second one, and the dynamics of family and friends keep the story interesting. Logan’s story begins at the wedding of Storm and Bree. Pete is as grumpy and as endearing as ever, Nikki is as funny and needy, and Rocki and Patrice are quick to add Skye to their circle of girlfriends. The chemistry between Logan and Skye is explosive, but the combustibility overpowers the development of their emotional connection. And the misunderstanding that sends Skye back to New York is convenient and predictable.
Readers who enjoyed Back to You will want to read You’re the One to follow the interlinked stories of the sons Pete saved and made his own, but the second book is not as strong as the first one. Nevertheless, a series with an urban setting that still has a rich sense of community is a welcome addition to the contemporary romance scene. The third book in the series, Always and Forever, is scheduled for release in early February 2014. I’ll definitely be among those headed to Red Hook, the Crow’s Nest, and another bad boy’s story then.
I have been spoiled by new adult literature. This was a traditional contemporary romance novel by the most excellent novelist, Robin Kaye. Robin does not disappoint in telling Logan and Skye's story.
Logan comes home to Red Hook from his fancy wine-making job and fiancee to run the business while Storm is on his honeymoon. Skye is slumming in Red Hook -- an on the run Chef hiding out from her famous family.
There were some very cute secondary characters including Pete -- the dad, Nikki -- the maybe-child of Logan, and most importantly, Pepperoni, the previous Chef's dog that comes with the job and apartment. Both Skye and I really fall for Pepperoni.
It took me almost a week to read this book. I really savored it. Logan realizes that he is attracted to Skye almost immediately. He breaks up with Peyton when she arrives in Red Hook unannounced and immediately takes up with Skye. He is not a cheater -- an important theme for this book.
There is some confusion in the end, and we come to a quick conclusion, but all in all, a very satisfactory HEA.
The story begins with our hero engaged to another woman. He has been misleading her about his background, allowing her to believe he grew up in the same wealthy environment rather than out on Red Hook, adopted by a man who lives above a bar (granted, it's also a restaurant and Pete owns it, but still.) Logan Blaise is back in town, running the restaurant while his father is sick. When his chef unexpectedly quits, relief walks in in the form of Skye Maxwell. Skye is the only daughter in a family of restaurant owners. She's a trained chef but her family seems determined to keep her tracking the books. So, she strikes out on her own, determined to make her mark on the eating world. Extra half star for the conversation between Skye and her friend Kelly about prepping for sex (aka buying condoms). And then for asking him when she doesn't have any. And to him for having some (NOT stored in a wallet). Why no five stars? A little fast.
First read - 16 to 21 February, 2015 4 stars This was sexy, romantic, emotional without being over-angsty and included a very interesting introduction to Slater Shaw, the hero in the series' next book. I loved Skye and Logan however I felt like there was something missing between their black moment and HEA. It also felt a bit too much like insta-love at times. I was devastated with Logan when he learned the truth about Nicki, and I'm looking forward to seeing how everything plays out in the next book. This also makes me want Skye's brothers to get their own HEA's!
Second read - 27 November, 2020 DNF This didn't hold up for me on a second read. I wasn't engaged by the characters or the writing. DNF and unhauled.
In You’re the One by Robin Kaye Bad Boys of Red Hook (Book 2), Logan is back in Red Hook to help run the bar while his foster father Pop recovers from a heart attack and bypass surgery. He doesn’t expect to be in Red Hook long, before heading back to Napa and the successful vineyard owned by his fiancee’s family.
Skye is escaping from her well known family, looking to make her own way when she ends up in Red Hook. As the fates would have it, the chef at Logan’s family’s bar/restaurant has just quit, and Skye is a chef. With no one else able to take on the job, Logan hires Skye, with no clue who she is. Amazing. Robin Kaye always delivers exactly what I want. I honestly feel her writing just gets better and better. I wont spoil it for those that haven't read it yet, but I will still give some feedback. Logan and Skye are perfect for each other. The interactions between the whole crazy family (both of theirs) were so stinking hilarious. The dogs were so funny and anyone that owns one will be rolling on the floor. I was sobbing at a few parts because the emotion of the particular situation was so deep and true. I fell in love with the people and it made me sad when they were sad. I am so excited for the next one to come out now. Well worth the money and time. But you should buy/read Hometown Girl and Back to You first to really get the whole, wonderful story <3
I enjoyed this one, but there was just something keeping me from giving it that last star. It was probably their lack of communication. The fact that Logan was so quick to jump after such a long time of protecting his heart was strange to me. I also found it weird that he would explain that he was in a different bedroom than Payton, but not tell Skye what was going on. And he's surprised when she's mad at him?
At this point, we are led to believe that Nicki is Slater's daughter, but after this book, I can't see anyone but Logan being her dad. I'm not sure how Kaye is going to play it in the next book.
LOVEDDDDD this book. It brought tears to my eyes. It was so homey and realistic, gosh I just instantly fell in love with Logan and Skye. But geez we need an ending with Nicki, I'm tired of all this bouncing around, so Slater, OWN IT! When it turned all sop opera-ey in the end there I was really hoping for a Skye and Payton smack down. The book was real and relatable and I love the whole family dynamic. The humor was a trip. That chocolate cake and whip cream incident and POP? I LOL'd for the next 5 pages. Gotta love a great Robin Kaye book
Nicky, Logan & Skye sangat menyentuh, aplg ketika hasil tes bilang bahwa Nicky bukan anak biologis Logan. Mantan tunangan Logan yg bitchy bgt (jd agak mirip soap opera tp untungnya tdk berkepanjangan). Bikin hubungan Logan & Skye berantakan tp akhirnya Logan crawling & groveling spy Skye memaafkan ngajak married.
Btw, punya anjing ribet juga yah, hrs diajak jalan2 tiap hari, saya bacanya sampe cape sendiri
Great book! The only problem I had was references to searching the internet and hacking when they were kids. In book age, they're a few years younger than me. So, I know for a fact that the internet wasn't available yet. Just a little thing but that's it. It was a great second book to the series. I can't wait to read the third.
