This book reminds us of the time before the fall of Judah and the entry into exile. Through both Jeremiah and Lamentations we are reminded that we have left God's love for our own and the He is there patiently waiting to be called upon to deliver us from our sin. When we return, we are welcomed and loved and forgiven. Heaven is ours! (2nd Reading)

Jeremiah followed Isaiah as a prophet. He gave prophecy from God to the king of Judah. The king would not listen to Jeremiah. What he told would happen, indeed did happen. The time frame of Jeremiah's prophecy is right before the destruction of Jerusalem to right after the exile. God promised that He would return the faithful to their land! (3rd Reading)
