This book is part of Lotus Lane books series. Four girls Kiki, Coco, Lulu and Mika are members of Lotus lane girls club. This book is about Mika who is a Japanese recently moved into Lotus Lane. The interesting thing is the book is written like her Diary.

There were two problems for Mika in this book:
Mika likes drawing comics and hip-hop dancing. She and her classmates have to do a project for school newspaper. Mika doesn’t know what to do. Then she decided to do a comic strip. But she was confused to decide what to draw.
Katy is Mika’s friend. Mika is also friends with Kiki, Coco and Lulu. But Katy is mean to the other 3 girls. Mika doesn’t know what to do again. She shouted at Katy for writing a gossip column about Coco. Then she felt very bad.

Read the book to find what happened next.

I would give this book 5 star because this book is different than most other books. Because the book is written like a diary, I know Mika worries a lot. Mika tries to be kind and helpful to her friends. She likes everybody. I learned about many interesting Japanese things like: Sushi food, Kawaii drawings, Harajuku fashion and Zen garden. I hope you also like it too.

Sincerely,
Dhiya (Grade-2)

What can I say? I love Lotus Lane! As the newest resident of the girl-filled street, Mika is ecstatic to be gifted her very own diary and to be welcomed into the Lotus Lane Girls Club. Some bumps show up in her new social life as she strives to grow closer to her new friends while still staying true to herself. Little girls 1st-3rd grade will love this adorable series.

Another good book in the Lotus Lane series for girls. This book is great, as is the whole series (4 books). The book is written as a girl's diary, which breaks up the reading into smaller, more manageable segments. It's a great bridge between picture books and chapter books. All the Branches books accomplish this, and have a number of different series with different characters to appeal to a variety of students.

Mika is the new girl on Lotus Lane and she gets her own journal. This story focuses on friendship and doing the right thing. I can see why 1st-3rd graders would enjoy this series.

Finally, I had my Lotus Lane Book #4. I had my book #2-3, but I don't have my book #1 and #4. Yes I know, I read first the #2 because the bookstore was out of stock, but I am lucky because my mom order books in Book Depository. She got the book on September 2 and delivered in our country on September 18. I stay focus on the book and finish it for only 4 hours.

I just read this last night.

The Lotus Lane series was my favorite book series when I was in 2nd Grade. I found this book in my bookshelf yesterday and decided to read it.

It brought back many 2nd Grade memories and I remember how it taught me facts and info that weren't very important but still fun the learn (like how to say "good night" in Japanese, harder words and their meanings, etc.)

Just trying to keep up with my daughter. This series of books is my favorite because they teach complex vocabulary words and cultural concepts. This book taught about Japan (sushi, harajuku girls, zen gardens, etc). It also teaches about being good friends and trying new things. Great series for young kids.

My daughter has a hard time staying focused and concentrating on anything. She brought this book him from her school library and read 58 pages the same day. That NEVER happens!! She was so excited to see what was happening next and couldn’t put it down! Can’t wait to get her more from the series!

I loved the Mika book!! Because it was just so fun. It reminds me of when I moved to my new house and I called myself Mika. It's like I'm in the book.

Book 4 in the Lotus Lane Series. These are chapter books that are easy to get through, so a good fit for readers that are just moving into this style of book. Pictures throughout the book to help the reader. My youngest daughter loved these books.

Don't know, some of the Japanese fashion can be considered very risqué for young girls..,

Mika is thinking if she wants to be Katy's friend, because her other friends get bullied from her.
