Ed and his friends visit a robotic, life-like exhibit called Dinosaur Discovery. He has fun on the trip, but then ends up with a real-life dinosaur following him home. . . . Ed's strange magical coin has done it again! Disaster follows, and Ed simply MUST find a way to put this dinosaur back where it belongs.

Just when you think things can't get any stranger, Ed and his friends visit Dinosaur Discovery, and a robot dinosaur becomes real, and follows them home. Ed has to think of a way to get the dinosaur, named Bluebird by his younger sister Libby, back to where it belongs before his parents return home. Using tips from his giant book of quotations, and his every increasing control of his powers from the Silver Center magic coin, Ed manages to set the situation right, and even receives a parting gift left behind by Bluebird.
I enjoyed this book because I liked the part when Bluebird, which is a dinosaur, went back into his own world. I did not like this book because I did not like the part when Bluebird crushed the sandbox.
My favorite part was where they didn’t know what to do so they went to the library for books! AND the librarian was both friendly and helpful. Also her name was Oberdue.
Ed, his siblings, and his friends are all excited to go see the new dinosaur exhibit in town. But when his special coin that causes odd things to happen kicks in, his little sister brings home a new friend from the exhibit. A very big, very not supposed to be here friend. Ed has to fix this before his mom comes home!
From the moment the dinosaur exhibit is introduced readers should know exactly what is going to happen. Ed does have quite the track record. How to fix it is the thing that will keep the pages turning. A fun, zany problem solving adventure with a friendly dinosaur and siblings that are actually friendly to one another! Recommended to reluctant readers, dinosaur lovers, and fans of kids figuring their way out of weird situations.
These books are ridiculous. My 9 year old and my 7 year old love for me to read to them at night and after reading the first one they have begged me to read the rest. I have enjoyed every book from the Branches collection. I will be referring to that for our next series!
Looniverse takes place in Ed’s house and in his backyard. The main characters in this book are Ed’s and sister Libby. She is scared to go to the dinosaur festival and Ed can’t go. She likes dinosaurs after she goes then she names one her own. The author of this book is David Lubar. This author has also written Beware The Ninja Weenies. The Genre of this book is fiction. I think this book would have to be read by a 6th grader. Libby found a dinosaur she called it Bluebird. Bluebird has destroyed so many things and it is getting out of control. Ed wants Bluebird to go back where she belongs. He is ready for his plan, he will tell his story that he created and it will create a portal. Will he be able to do it? So right now he is reading the story the portal is being created and Bluebird will have to be sucked in. One thing I liked about this book is that it’s kind of like an adventure. This is more like an adventure book or achievement. I say this because they go back to back trying to get something. Something I disliked about this book was that it was very easy to read and I thought it was going to be a little hard. I don’t like short books that much. My favorite part was when they were trying to take back the dinosaur to its home and the dinosaur was going into the portal but Libby wouldn’t let go. She finally let go and then Ben landed on poop. I think that I made a good connection with Mouse because he is always bored. This book doesn’t remind me of any book, but it kind of reminds me of Jurassic Park because it’s about dinosaurs. I would not recommend this book to any middle schooler because it’s too short. Another reason why I say this is because it didn’t grab my attention. It wasn’t that interesting. My last reason is that you probably won’t be able to write that much out of it. I rate this book a 4 out of 5 stars.
I liked the dinosaur! I liked the name of the dinosaur, Amigosaurus. I liked that they got dinosaur bobbleheads at the dinosaur museum, but Libby, Ed, Mouse, Moose, Sarah did not get their bobble heads because they were all sold out. The way they figured out the problem of Libby loving the Amigosaurus so much ed made a story called the little girl who picked up everything. He read the book to Libby and then a big portal came up and the Amigosaurus was getting sucked in, but Libby held onto him and then Ed grabbed Libby, Moose grabbed Ed, Mouse grabbed Moose, Derwin grabbed Mouse, the dog grabbed Derwin's bottom, and the cat grabbed the dog's tail. And kind of in the middle Derwin was shaking his bottom at the TREX and it grabbed his bottom, and mouse caught Derwin. I thought all that was really funny.

Lubar's Looniverse just keeps getting loonier. Ever since he found that coin, he has become The Stranger, causing chaos and magic everywhere he goes. This is such a fun series for 2nd and 3rd graders. The chapters are short and the illustrations plentiful, making for quite a fast read.
This gentle, humorous early chapter book is sure to be a crowd pleaser. It features a likable protagonist, illustrations on every page and, in this installment, dinosaurs.
I read it to my 4 year old. It was a lot of reading. We'd read a chapter at a time. She enjoyed it. Nice story. Perhaps she will read it later my herself!
And the series just keeps getting better! Dinosaur Disaster is another home run for my (used to be) reluctant reader. David Lubar is brilliant and makes disasters seem divine!
