This book is just adorable. It's like Romancing the Stone through Paris. A crazy, funny, sweet little caper.
Piers is just a normal guy. A little nerdy but cute. He's in Paris to update software at a construction site. Then there's Sidney. Gorgeous, smart, sassy, a little broken but working hard to make her dreams come true. The kind of girl that would probably not look twice at Piers.
But fate throws them together when they both get in the same cab. They are arguing about who gets the cab and why. The cab driver starts yelling at them and suddenly a man jumps into the cab with them. He's wet, muddy, and been shot.
And he's still being shot at.
They end up being chased through the streets and when the bad guys think they are involved with the man they were after, they find themselves being targeted too.
They must stick together to survive this.
This is a fun quick read with an adorable ending.
Looking forward to more from this author.

I really really loved this book. I couldn't put it down!!! From the very first page I was hooked it just sucks you right in and never lets you go until the last page.

It was action packed and I loved every minute of it.

Sidney and Piers are amazing main characters and they are very entertaining. Both looking for a taxi that Piers gets to first but Sidney has had a rough day and insist it is her taxi. While arguing a crazy turn of events takes place that lays the foundation for this wonderful book!!!!

I definitely recommend!!

Excellent debut novel and can't wait for more books by Nigel Blackwell!

Because I have recently been to New York City, I can say for sure that I was able to experience what it was like when someone actually stole my taxi. Yep, it's true. And this is what happened in the beginning of Paris Love Match - sort of.

This excerpt is part of my 2013 Contemporary Month Event and is taken from my review on Into the Hall of Books. Read more here: http://www.intothehallofbooks.com/201...

See, Piers and Sidney are in a bit of a bickering match over exactly who has the right to the taxi they're both sitting in when WHOOP! someone jumps in and yells GO! to the driver. This person is dirty and stinky and has a gun - he's being shot at and is actually really mean. Eventually, the guy ends up getting shot and both Piers and Sidney end up being suspects. (I'm leaving out a bit of a chase by both police and some really bad guys - it's very exciting.)

Apparently this now-deceased guy (name = Auguste) was in possession of something that a ton of people wanted for various reasons - a famous painting. And those bad guys believe that for some reason, since Piers and Sidney just happened to be in the same taxi with Auguste, they now magically know where this painting is currently being kept. Previous to Auguste's departure from this earth, he had made a deal with the bad guys about the painting and now they're expecting somebody to pay up in Auguste's place. We've all seen these mafia-type movies before - we know how they work - and in this case, Piers and Sidney are in the wrong place at the wrong time and get completely caught up in it. This, my friends, is the story of Paris Love Match.

The thing about Piers and Sidney is this: before the taxi incident, they didn't know each other at all. In fact, Piers isn't even from Paris. He's in town on business. Sidney lives there currently, but she isn't from there either. These two are an unlikely duo, and they make for some really funny bantering back-and-forth (which I love) and some really funny scenes in the book....which is excellent because they spend an awful lot of time in these pages on the run so it's good to have their comedy to break up the chase-scenes.

Sidney is a career woman - she's focused and driven. She's also concerned a lot with fashion. So while everything is going on around her - while they're supposed to be watching their backs constantly and staying on the move - Sidney is sometimes extremely focused on the fact that she needs to shower and to change clothes and that she smells really bad. All of this is well and good because that's how Sidney is, but after a while I think it just worked to make Piers look even better...

...which wasn't very necessary because I liked Piers immediately. In town on business, like I mentioned, the guy seemed to be a bit of a fumbling tourist. He just wanted to get his job done and go back home. When his job was delayed, he realized he'd be in town longer so he'd sightsee a bit. Good grief, it must be a nightmare to get caught up in something like this when you're just trying to get your job done! But Piers handles it in stride. He keeps a level head even when he gets frustrated. He finds his way around this city that is strange to him. He deals with Sidney's sometimes ridiculous behavior. And in the end, the dude is the hero of the day. I think he's great.

There are some secondaries that are really fun and also funny. Some of the mob goons are really not mafia-types, they're just for-hires that work on cars for a living - I really liked them. There's an exiled dictator that is just...I don't know but he kind of made me laugh a little bit. And there's Piers' mum who seemed to call at all the wrong times and come to all of the wrong conclusions (as many mums do).

Ultimately, Paris Love Match is a really fun book. It's short and very lite on the romance but heavy on the adventure, which is a nice change from what's out there right now. I enjoyed it a lot considering that the majority of contemporary that I've read lately has either been heavy on the romance or heavy on the issues. Paris Love Match was just plain fun. OH! And for those of you that love a great Parisian setting or Brit-speak, this is one that you might want to add to your to-read list. You get both of these things in this book!

I recommend Paris Love Match for fans of Adult/New Adult Contemporary with light romance, plenty of adventure, and a great setting. It is a quick read and would be fun for those that love books set in Europe.

If I gave half stars I would say this was a solid three and a half for me. However, I do not do halves so I have rounded up to four, simply because it did make me laugh several times and I love Piers.

I thought Piers was lovely, and I really liked his character. He was believable and so funny. Sidney... well she annoyed me. I know at the start her character was all about herself. And I understand that, I do. It's just that there were times when I felt like she was a little over the top. They were running for their lives, and she wants to stop to go shopping for new clothes? Is this really the right time Sidney?

However, even in saying that by the end I warmed to her. I didn't really get how Piers fell for her at the start though, because she was pretty self absorbed. But by the end I wanted them together so that is all that matters.

The side characters, Little and Large, were also hilarious. I couldn't help thinking of them as two bumbling bandits, and a lot of the laughs came from these two.

Overall, I recommend Paris Love Match to those who enjoy a good caper. The banter and dynamics between Piers and Sidney is funny and well written, they bicker more than an old married couple. The ending is smart and very well laid out.

Paris Love Match is a great summer read. I mean who does not want to go to Paris? Paris is such a beautiful place and the setting of this great book. I laughed so hard reading PLM because it is full of action, drama, and suspense that it will leave you laughing and wondering what is going on when the two unlikeliest of people get together and have to work together to solve a mystery.

Piers is a computer geek and he is in Paris to update some software for his company at a construction site. He is enjoying his day doing his work and now he is ready to back to the hotel and relax and enjoy Paris when a lady jumps into his cab and they start to argue about who is going to take the cab when all of a sudden out of nowhere a man bleeding and shot jumps into the cab. The man is being shot at even as he enters the cab and the cab driver takes off.

Piers who has found out the lady in the cab is Sidney are trying to figure out what to do and where to go. They want no part in this mans life and besides they don't know each other so the sooner they get away the better but the mob has something else planned and this is the part of the story that is so good! It is like a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie all gooey with chocolate and ready to eat!

This is a must read summer book for everyone. Give it a go and take a walk on the wild side with mob, computer geek, and the girl!

I Love Lucy meet the Goonies. The cheeky comedy in this book is brilliant. This would make a fabulous movie.

Paris Love Match takes us on an outrageous run through Paris with Piers and Sidney, in a fight for their life.

Sidney, I loved her! She is an over-the-top kind of character, fast talking, arms flailing, sassy, ditsy kinda girl (Lucille Ball). Piers is a stiff, awkward Brit who wants more than anything to get back to his "normal" life. He is brilliant and more capable than he gives himself credit for. Together these two have no idea where they are going or what they are looking for, but their banter is hilarious! Half the time they did not know if they were working together or against each other. Both of these characters have such a dry sense of humor that adds to the charm of this book.

With an exiled dictator and his goons after Piers and Sidney, and a couple of "trained killers" named Little and Large following their every move this story kept me on my toes and laughing the entire time.

I did not know what to expect when I picked up this book. I am so glad I gave it a chance because it was such a fun read. Finding Paris Love Match was like uncovering a treasure and I would recommend as an entertaining summer read.

He is being shot at, by the police, by the unmarked cars. The man dies on the way, leaving the two, the last person he talked with.

Augustus was not just a goon but he had stolen a very famous painting and pounds of diamonds from the most dangerous of man. The man will now reduce to nothing to recover what had been stolen from him.

This has to be one of the most exciting books that I have read in awhile and I absolutely loved it! From the moment I started reading this book, it was an absolute craziness!! Piers is your average guy who works and pretty much has nothing else planned in life because he's just "average". But that all changes when he gets in a taxi and sees a girl - no, a beautiful angel that simply said: "Get the fuck out, this is my taxi". Next thing they know, they are being shot at and have to find a famous painting that has been stolen before the trained killers might roast them on a warm Parisian night.

Gif explains it all. BADASS. I loved the dorky Piers and confident Sidney, even if she was a little brat at times. I really appriciate that author put more thought into the book so that their adventure wasn't tacky and seemed genuine. Their chemistry and details of this book was incredible! A lot of times I get confused on what's going on because of all the action but Paris Love Match was right on spot with all the moves and description. BRAVO!!

This is definitely far from what I was expecting to read upon turning the first page. It might have it all: the action, adventure, romance, and mystery, murder trails due to politics and deceit but it lacks that certain enthusiasm that gives the readers a push or even a shove to continue reading.

Yes, the beginning is quite funny and it’s entertaining to see the characters but the story itself with all those mobsters and politician and missing things wasn’t that catchy – it’s missing something. The Parisian back-drop is the thing that did the trick to me into reading this one but unfortunately that beautiful back-drop wasn’t given the highlight I was expecting it to be.

Uhuh. Some may definitely love it but for me? Not so. Sigh.

Paris Love Match takes two strangers on a wild caper to find a stolen item through the streets of Paris.

The witty banter between the two main characters as they learn they have to rely on each other to stay alive had me laughing out loud. I really, really want to tell you my favorite line but I don't want to spoil it for you when you get to that part.

The unlikely pair and the side characters of Little and Large make this a refreshingly fun, quick read.

So, if you want to get away from you life for a few hours, run away to the streets of Paris and enjoy Paris Love Match.

LOVED this book! It's the first I've read from the wonderfully talented Mr. Nigel Blackwell. Cannot wait to see what else his brilliant mind creates! Great story - it moved along nicely. Piers and Sidney are wonderful and I hope there's another book on the way - there are some unanswered questions, you know! (Shhhh - I know, I know - NO SPOILERS.)
If you haven't read it yet - DO SO NOW. Kudos, Nigel! =)

If there's one thing about PARIS LOVE MATCH, it's that it's an extremely readable story. I definitely had my separate issues with the book, but ultimately I enjoyed the novel because it was so easy for me to continue reading!

The main thing in the book I had a problem with was Sidney. Maybe I misunderstood her in some way, but to me, she just seemed really shallow! Exhibit A: many times in the novel, instead of, I don't know, maybe trying to find out what the dead man stole or what the hell was going on, she wanted to smell nice and shop for new clothes. Seriously? Her life was at stake, and she cared about new clothes? That just seemed utterly ridiculous to me. Then there was the way that she treated Piers. Up until about three fourths into the novel, though Piers practically did everything Sidney wanted, she still acted like Piers only cared about himself. She literally told him that he didn't care about her, even though he went with her to buy clothes and everything.

Because of that, I also didn't really connect with the romance. First of all, I didn't really like Sidney's character and only got to tolerating her at the end of the book, so I couldn't really imagine her as a love interest. Moreover, there's not much romance until very late in the novel, and the change seemed very abrupt. Like, Piers would go from "I should try to survive and take care of Sidney so we don't die" to "Sidney is the most beautiful woman I've ever met and we need to be together forever". So, I didn't really feel the chemistry >__<

However, as much as I disliked Sidney, I loved Piers! He was such an adorable, considerate and sweet character. I really admired his bravery and selflessness, especially when Sidney was a b- he was faced with danger and trouble. And of course, he's smart but still able to take action when its needed. Who wouldn't love an adorkable geek who comes to your rescue?

As for the plot, it was simply easy to read and fun! I can honestly say it's not the type of thing I could find myself entangled with, but it was definitely entertaining. It's a bit crazy, really - there's exiled dictators, stolen paintings, diamonds, trained killers, car chases and some pretty intense diving scenes. Surprisingly, Blackwell also kept me guessing - I couldn't figure out what exactly was happening until a decent amount into the novel. It's kind of like an action movie - totally easy to watch (or in this case, read), entertaining, a bit flashy, maybe not totally memorable, but enjoyable.

The bottom line? I was iffy on the romance and Sidney, loved Piers, and completely gobbled up the plot. I'd also say that it's different from a lot of the NA contemporaries you read, as there's not as much romance or emotion, but much more action. If you're looking for a quick and unique NA read definitely put this on your TBR!

The sound of Paris Love Match makes me remember Get Smart movie. You know that action-packed funny movie wherein Anne Hathaway and Steve Carell starred in? Yes, that! Except that Piers and Sidney weren't agents or anything. But their story was hell funny. Instead of making me nervous since they are being harassed by mobs, they made me laugh A LOT because of their clumsiness and their sort-of awkwardness. Yet they're cute, you know. Cute!

Piers and Sidney were forced to work together to find what the dead man stole. If not, they'll die. Really, when everything cuts loose, you'll actually hold on to something just to get out of it alive even if it means being with a stranger. Piers and Sidney didn't know each other. But I love how naturally they acted together. Even if there was a little awkwardness between the two of them at times. I guess this started when Piers started to realize how gorgeous Sidney was. They have that chemistry! I guess that's what made them worked like a team. Also, that chemistry was budding into something more. Then again, would you actually focus on romance rather than your own safety? I guess Piers and Sidney were just making sure they'll get out of it alive before starting something new.

I just hate how naive Sidney was. I mean, maybe if I was in the same position, I've done the same thing. But then, I would have assessed things first rather than jump to conclusions. She actually invited more danger to their lives because of what she did. Although I think she was just being patriotic. And also, that's what female characters in movies usually do! Like I said, this was like Get Smart or really, James Bond, even for a little.

This was not so James Bond because well, Piers wasn't that kind of guy. Not that knight in shining armor type every woman dreams about. But he was! For Sidney. Honestly, what he did in the end was like a suicide mission. I mean, what was the chance that he'll get out of it alive? Not like I actually computed for it or something but, he was a total brave man. For that, he really did become James Bond in the end!

You know those big men in movies you hate because they harass the main characters? But in the end, you'll love them because they did something for the main characters? Well, they were present here! Surprise, surprise!

Huh, loved that title! Really. Suits them so much.

Paris Love Match was a fast read. It'll make you laugh even if this was supposed to be suspense for the most part. You'll actually get addicted because you wanna know what's gonna happen to Piers and Sidney IMMEDIATELY. This was a total page-turner.

Paris Love Match was a charming, whirl-wind read. One of the funniest and most outrageous plot I've ever read.

This story is told in third-person view, and follows a crazy duo through the streets of Paris. Piers and Sydney, after meeting by fighting over a cab, encounter a string of events that leads them on a wild chase to find a missing stolen painting all the while being hunted by mobsters.

This plot was utterly ridiculous, and not in a bad way. I say ridiculous because some of the things that cross Piers and Sydney's path was just too unbelievable. But, it made for some laugh-out-loud, pee-in-your-pants, hilarious scenes. The way the story is told, you mostly follow them, but you also encounter POVs of the mobsters and other crazies that they encounter. This book felt like a movie. No joke. The way it reads feels like you're running through scenes of Rush Hour, you know with Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. It was just hysterical.

If I were rating just the plot, I'd have given it five stars.

The part of the book that made my rating drop to a three, was the personalities of the actual characters. Although they both encounter humorous dilemmas and together make a likable duo, individually they bugged me. Actually, I should say Sydney bugged me. I just could not click with her at all. Ever seen the movie Clueless? Imagine Sydney to be just like one of those girls. Always fussing about their appearance. I totally get that Sydney is this fashionable girl, but it just seemed sooo annoying and shallow when there were times she worried more about her hair than trying to escape. I guess it just seemed unrealistic to me, but then again it's what made the plot funny sometimes.

Then there was Piers. He's totally likable, in an adorably nerdy kind of way. I definitely liked him more than Sydney, but I still wanted to shake some sense into him. He totally lets Sydney walk all over him for atleast the first two-thirds of the book. Whenever she needed to "fix" herself, he always gave in. Or when she tells him to pay, with out asking first, he does it. I guess I just wanted him to be stronger and not be such a pushover. LIke I said before though, together they are great duo.

When it came time for Piers and Sydney's romance, because I really wasn't feelin' the vibes of the characters, their romance was just ok for me. Don't get me wrong, they had some super cute scenes and you could tell they connect well.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. It's an easy read, and it's filled with tons of action and humor.

You want to talk about a bad day? Oh my. Sidney was having a very bad day. She thought it would be a great day, she had a job interview after all... but when the interview when horribly wrong, she hailed a cab. But Piers beat her to the car and she had just about had enough. She got in the car and demanded he get out... but one bad day leads to two... Now they both were going to have a very bad day when someone else gets in the car with them. There's guns fired, people dying and total chaos from a simple cab ride.
But Sidney and Piers survive that cab ride only to have everything in their completely separate lives thrown together in this funny action-packed book. This book takes these two on a crazy and wild ride through Paris in search of something that the bad guys think the additional passenger in the car left behind and they are on a schedule now and must find what they need to be kept alive. But they have no idea what they are looking for and what exactly happens when they find it? And how are they ever going to get out of this situation?
The characters in this book were hilarious. For being such an action filled book, I found it delightfully entertaining. Sophie is a smart ass! Piers is a smart ass! It is so ironic that they ended up in a cab ride from hell together... But the two characters played well off each other and you could just see the romantic tension building between the two of them through the entire crazy adventure.
This book was well written and fast paced and I did not put it down from start to finish. I wish the romance had blossomed a bit earlier in the book; I still found the book very intriguing and didn't mind terribly that I had to wait. These two characters had enough drama without adding the "love factor" into the equation so it was worth the wait, but I am an impatient person.
I loved the interaction with Piers's mummy as well... over-protective and over-bearing and oh my goodness, I was so thankful that my mom was never like that but the dialogue between him and his mom was awesome.
I think my favorite moment in the book happened behind an open umbrella...just acting, but what a moment to act!
This book made me smile over and over again but kept me on the edge of my seat as well. It was well mapped out and the action was crazy fun. I really enjoyed this book!

I loved this! The description refers to the book as a humorous romance, so when I began to read about a Russian dictator, the mob, guns, and murder, I wasn't sure where the humor was, but let me tell you the stage is set for one of the most entertaining books I have read in quite some time. When Piers Champman and Sidney Roux wind up in the same cab, arguing over who got there first and whose cab it actually was, needless to say they were shocked and quite taken by surprise when a man with a gun hopped in and a chase with shooting and real bad guys ensued. What they weren't expecting was to find themselves in the middle of it all and now suspected as being involved in the crime and murder by the police, and even worse, the bad guys. They wind up on the run together given the ultimatum by the mob to come up with the stolen article in 24 hours or die. They now find themselves playing detective, on the run from the police, and the situations they wind up in are funny, unbelievable, and will keep you turning the pages dying to see what happens next.

Paris Love Match kind of felt like I was reading a movie and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It reminded me of a combination of movies and made me think of Knight and Day, with the humor of a grown-up Home Alone, and of course there was the Bond, James Bond feel there, at least that is what came to my mind when reading it. The relationship and banter between Piers and Sidney was funny and romantic, and I enjoyed their continuous banter. Then there were "Little and Large," the two goons that followed them, who I wound up loving to. Everything crescendos into an ultimate showdown and Piers finds himself really having to pull off some James Bond stunts, which made the story even more fun and interesting and romantic. Paris Love Match is fun, entertaining, action-packed, humorous, and romantic. It is really different from the paranormal, contemporary, and dystopian books I have been reading and was such a refreshing break, and I most definitely recommend it.

I had no idea what this story was about or anything about the author. If it wasn’t for Author Jillian Dodd I would never have looked for this book or this author. I’m so very glad she turned me onto Nigel Blackwell. With that said, I really really ENJOYED this book. I couldn't put it down! It was action packed and I loved every minute of it. The beginning is quite funny and very entertaining, which only drew me into the storyline quicker. I’d say it was crazy, unexpected love, funny, witty, the mob and fast pacing action.

So there is Piers, he has been to Paris before this trip so knows his way around. There on business, he goes to grab a cab one day a lady named Sidney jumps in the cab at the same time. Obviously they start to argue about who got in the cab first when out of blue a bloody man jumps in with them. This is just the beginning to a very crazy and dangerous trip for both of their lives. Come to find out the bloody guy is being chased by the mob. Now you see, Piers and Sidney are stuck in the middle and the mob is now after them too.

Together they experience near death accidents, crazy crazy taxi rides, and non-stop running through the beautiful city of Paris. Really, what more could you ask for.

Piers is a computer nerd, the type of guy a normal girl wouldn’t go after, a real mommy’s boy (nothing wrong with that, right). Now Sidney, she’s a real classy, sassy, sticky fingers, fight for herself type of a gal (gotta love that). Matching these two different people up together is a real treat, a great story line. They get frustrated with each other….a lot, go figure, lol, they do say opposites attract.

There will be adventure, there will be love and YOU will be at the edge of your seat with anticipation of what will happen next. At this point is where I say, YES I CHEATED, I skipped to the ending to find out……..lol, then went back to where I left off and continued the story. SO SORRY!!

A sad disappointment but a very easy read.

"Paris is not a city. It's an idea, a dream, a hope."

I'm so sorry to say but, the blurb sounded so amazing and I was really looking forward to dive into this book, expecting it to be action-packed, hot and also romantic. Unfortunately, it was neither of those. The characters were okay even though the idea of the plot was great! I'm just so sad to be writing this review.

I honestly freaking loved Piers. He was so adorable! He was awkward and odd, but also very intelligent. He's a freaking programmer for goodness' sake. But, yeah, I really really liked his character. He was really weird in a way, not like the heroes I saw in books who were cocky and confident. His easily-embarrassed personality is refreshing.

On the other hand, Sidney pissed the fuck out of me. She was annoying as hell. Piers was really considerate towards her, he thought of her for everything. But did she care? No, she was a selfish bitch. I don't know. I'm just really angry with her.

The book started out pretty good with the somewhat hilarious banter, the incident that triggered everything else, and the chase. But then it started taking a dive. I don't know what happened but there was no suspense in the action, no chemistry in the romance. Nada. The only way this book was saved was by the ending, which I liked because Piers was clever and it was actually pretty intense. But, I have no idea how there was even any romance between them since Sidney seemed to underestimate Piers.

I really, really enjoyed reading this story.
It was fast paced, funny and scary at times.

Piers is in Paris to Work on a crane for his Company. Turns out he arrived a day to early, but suddenly going from his biggest concern to how to get time passing, and the fact that he didn´t remember his camera - he suddenly gets a new and much bigger concern, when he is in the middle of a gunfight. A REAL gunfight. Someone dies. He and the lady (Sydney) he shared the taxi with are the next in line. The mobsters thinking they were helping with getting away with what had been stolen from them. They escape thanks to Piers, but the mobsters are always in the tail of them. Demanding that they give back what they took, or else.
Clueless, and helpless we follow them the next 24 hours, while they are trying to first find out what they are even looking for, and second how to get out of this mess alive.

I loved all of the characters. We have Piers, mommy´s boy, computer geek and general just one of those boy you won´t give a second glance.
Then we have Sydney - sassy, fight for herself and might have tendency to have long fingers.
I loved the whole man/woman dynamic between them. I could feel both of their frustrations with each other. Laughing about the differences between both sex was funny.

Little and Large - I really liked them. They give the story a funny input with their "professionalism".
And then there is the mobsters - none of them the good guys. And the police that have them wanted.

All in all a really entertaining read.

A suspenseful and thrilling story with a touch of humor and romance…

Paris Love Match follows two strangers, Piers and Sydney, who are accidentally thrown together as targets when a bleeding man being chased by the mob jumps into a cab they have already been fighting over. The story continues following Piers and Sydney as they work together to not only stay alive but also recover the stolen goods they were wrongfully accused of taking.

Overall this was a very entertaining read. Nigel’s writing is very easy to follow and before you realize it you’re vested in the book wanting to know what crazy stunt Piers and Sydney are going to pull next. I enjoyed the characters back and forth banter between each other as well as glimpses into each one’s thoughts. However, it wasn’t enough for me to fall in love with either one individually or as a couple. In the end, I thought it was a fun read, just not something that left me wanting to read again and again. I always enjoy it when I am emotionally connected to the characters but with Paris Love Match it just didn’t happen, which is the main reason it only gets 3 stars.

This book was part of a blog tour I received a copy for my honest review
3 1/2 stars

This book starts out with seeing the pov of a few different people then we see Piers and Sidney both trying to get a taxi, from there thing take off and become fast paced and hectic. Piers and Sidney are thrown together running from mobsters and trying to stay alive. This book was fast paced, humorous and highly entertaining. Piers is a huge geek, not buff or strong so he is not your normal hero type male. I liked his character except for the fact that he was so weak willed, he just gave into Sidney for most of the book. Sidney I had problems with her character, they are running for their lives and she was more concerned about her appearance than anything else. She was constantly disrespecting Piers and taking him for granted, so the romance angle of the book didn't really play out well for me. Other than those few problems I liked the book, the action and humor through out the book more than made up for the lack of heat in the romance. If you’re looking for an action book with humor for a good price this definitely a book to add to your reading list.

Paris Love Match was a funny, witty, crazy, lovely, fast paced action read. :)

The main action part had a span of about two days. And all about coincidence. Piers was an English engineer. He was in Paris to update the software of a construction site. Sydney was, well according to Piers, "maddening, infuriating, moody, yet exciting, vibrant, thrilling. She was cool and fashionable and worldly."

All started because he went in the taxi. She went in his taxi. And Augustus, the guy who stole the painting jumped in their taxi.

I love Paris. So it's fun reading about its landmarks being mentioned, the roads, the river, the bridges, and how they connect.

I could almost like Sydney. But not completely. I felt she's unreal sometimes. But as unreal as it is, I like Little and Large, they add the cute factor to the story. And I love how nice Piers is. He's very practical and thoughtful. At the end of the day, it's James Bond who saved the girl. And yeah, fell in love at first sight.

And now I have to ask this question without spoiling the story....
So where is 'IT', Nigel??!

OMG the mischief those 2 got into.

Sidney and Piers who went to hail a taxi and grabbed the same one. They each said it was their taxi and neither one wanted to leave. Little did they know their lives would change within a few minutes.

That taxi ride turned out to take them on a thrill ride all over Paris. Between mobsters hunting them down. The police shooting at them. Looking for a lost item they had nothing to do with. Along their journey they got to learn about each other in a way LOL!!

I couldn't believe Sidney believed Mr. President!! I mean you have been with Piers from the beginning HELLO wake up and smell the coffee. Oh wait you gulp it down LOL!!

I like it. It was a different type of book from what I normally read. But we all can use a change.
Piers turned out to be a James Bond after all just not like the one in the movies.

I can say they do get together in the end. But the end leaves me wondering is there going to be more? What becomes of Large and Little? where are those diamonds? and do they stay in Paris? You all have to read this book. It was fantastic.

4.5

Sydney was having a bad day that turned worse when a guy Pier jumped into the same cab as her. What she didnt know what that her day was about to get a whole lot worse when a man jump in with a gun. Suddenly Sydney and Pier are swept up into trouble that connects to the gunman, killer mobs and dictators. The gunman had something the killer mobs and the dictators want and they have a certain time to get what they are looking for, or else.

I loved how easily I was swept up into this book. It is a fun, fast paced, humorous, action packed book that I just couldn't put down. I loved how there was more then one point of view, giving the reader a bit of backstory to the dictator, and letting us know what was going on with Pier and Sydney. What drove me nuts was how shallow Sydney seems always worrying about her looks, I mean who thinks about how they look on tv when killer mobsters are stalking after you?

I would have to say this is a great summer read. Overall I loved this book and highly recommend!

This was a fast moving, action filled story with so many things happening to the characters, it felt a little unbelievable. Piers and Sidney are so antagonistic towards each other I really wondered if the “love” part of the title would ever happen. We are given inklings that maybe Piers feels more for Sidney but she is always a question. Her feelings don’t really show up until near the end though some of her actions throughout could be seen as flirting.

I wasn’t in love with either one of these characters. There was nothing intrinsically wrong with the story but it didn’t grab me and make me want to keep reading. I actually put it down numerous times because it bored me a little. As a romance it is okay. As an action story it was just okay. The only really great scene is at the end with Piers on a bridge. I won’t spoil it though :)

3 out of 5 stars.

It's a great story over all. It's funny and action packed.:D Piers is just perfect. Smart sweet and sexy. What kind of nerd has six packed abs??/:) (no offense to nerds with six packed abs) A nerd who plays x-box on Friday nights. I just LOVE <3<3<3<3 Piers.

But Sidney... not so much. I find her really stupid and naive. Sure, she's gorgeous and knows how to steal. But the way she acts usually is really frustrating.:/ I just don't like her much.:/

Well... aside from Sidney the book is great.:D

BTW. Made a new blog and so gonna copy this review over there.:)

Begin with the most stable, predictable human being on the planet: A British engineer. Throw him into a chaotic day of gunplay and wild chases. Add a complicated trail of murder, politics and deceit. Garnish with a beautiful, mercurial woman. Watch the fun begin.

By turns edge-of-the-seat thrilling and laugh-out-loud funny, Paris Love Match has it all: an endearing and believable hero, action, adventure, romance, and a beautifully rendered Paris backdrop. Don't miss this joyride!
