What a quick and fun read!
Starting off with the plot—two divorced doctors, who have acted on a teen fantasy of their own a few years ago, find an enhanced spark back after an accidental meeting. Turns out the male lead, Lucas, who has a kid, Theo, comes back to his small hometown—Sage Creek. It is about what this couple experiences and how they adjust and grow in the timeframe of the book.
What I liked about this book was how lucidly it was written. Rationally supportive side characters, no unnecessary drama and no troublesome ex. The story was as close to real life as it could be.
Lucas is the dashing doc everyone gets in line for as soon as he is on the market😉. He is gentle, straightforward and mature. He's this light-hearted cool guy everyone can only dream of. I liked how dedicated he was to Theo, was even ready to spark things up with his wife to make it work but it's sad it didn't happen. Not much mentioned about his skills as a doctor, something I wished was penned down.
Abby is the definition of sunshine-female trope. She is sweet, hard-working and an excellent doctor. Loved how her skills were described! Also, her maturity and ability to stand up for herself and make her life count was depicted well. Obviously, Theo had to like her.
And Theo is sooo cute! I love him sooo much! It was good to see his bond with Abby grow. Kids and dogs go very well. Romeo won him over!! Describing a child's innocence requires a lot of work and experience. And Lucas' mom. OMFG! What does she eat to be so blunt and open-minded. Maybe it was too much. She needs to shut her mouth sometimes lmao.
I will recommend it to readers who aren't looking for in-depth romance, but something with real situations which happen in the world. Will definitely read the next book in the series! :D
