'Union' brings together two decades' worth of Paul Summers' poems, drawing on books and pamphlets, performance pieces and collaborations, as well as a long and previously unpublished sequence about the North of England.
Wonderful evocations of the North-East, artfully capturing its landscape, people and language. The tone is celebratory throughout, but never mawkish; rather the poetry says 'come love where we live, because nobody will do it for us'.
