Escaping her abusive ex, Ava Monroe runs as far away as possible, ending up in San Diego, California. The city is expensive, and she needs a job fast. Finding a live-in nanny position seems like a dream come true. But nothing from her past has prepared her for William “Wild” Randolph.
Wild hadn’t spoken to his brother in years and had no clue how his two nieces were doing. When tragedy strikes, Wild is named the girls’ guardian, throwing him a curveball that might take him out of the Navy SEALs. He loves the kids but doesn’t know how to be a father and a SEAL. He needs help, and he needs it fast.
Well, the story itself was pretty good, but wow, does it need a good proofreader! Ava ran away from her abusive boyfriend in Florida to San Diego and became a nanny. Wild is a Navy SEAL who suddenly has custody of his brother's children and needs a nanny right away. After the girls' mother died, his brother had joined some kind of cult and the girls were abused while there. So they had to deal with not only their grief, but also the crazy ideas of the cult. Between people from the cult and Ava's crazy abusive ex-boyfriend, there was lots of action going on. But of course, everything turns out okay, as Ava and Wild fall in love. His SEAL buddies help him with the girls and with the problems they have.
The bad proofing did not help, though, as it tends to throw me out of the story. One of the girls is Lila, but at least once it was Lyla. The abusive ex was Dylan, but then there's an area where he is suddenly Duane. There are also misused/incorrect words here and there. Very sloppy. I also would have liked to have the loose ends tied up and know what happened to the crazy cult guy who kidnapped the girls and the abusive ex who tried to kidnap Ava.
If you can ignore that, the story is not bad at all, and if you like military romance, I do recommend it.

"Wild" by Julia Bright is a thrilling and emotionally charged romantic suspense story. The narrative revolves around Ava Monroe, a woman escaping an abusive past by finding refuge in San Diego. In dire need of employment, she stumbles upon a live-in nanny position that seems like a lifeline. Little does she know that her path will cross with the enigmatic William "Wild" Randolph.
As Ava steps into her role as a caregiver for Wild's nieces, the story takes a poignant turn. Julia Bright deftly explores the complexities of love, loss, and the challenges of balancing parenthood with a demanding career in the military. Wild, the Navy SEAL suddenly thrust into the role of guardian, faces a dilemma that tests his ability to be both a father and a dedicated soldier.
"Wild" offers a rollercoaster of emotions, blending romance and suspense in a way that keeps readers eagerly turning the pages. The characters are relatable, and their journeys are both heartwarming and thrilling. For those who appreciate a mix of passionate love stories and military drama, "Wild" is a must-read that skillfully navigates the intersections of family, duty, and the unexpected turns life can take.

Ava is fleeing an abusive relationship, moving from Florida to San Diego. Wild is a SEAL who was just told his brother was killed and the two girls are now under his protection. Needing help desperately, he hires a nanny - Ava. People come after the girls as well as Ava, with Wild and his friends taking charge of the situation. Will they get to Ava and the girls fast enough? Can Ava get away and protect the girls? Will Ava and Wild listen to the heat growing between them? Is there a future for them as a family? Will they ever be safe? Loved the characters and the storyline that is full of drama, danger, small comments proving more is going on, entertaining situations, steamy moments and more that kept the pages turning. The General has great connections. Great ending.

Wild and Ava. I came into this series after reading more recent series that include Ava and Wild as a married couple so it was great getting to read about their beginning. Talk about a ride! Wild gets hit with two major punches before his 30th birthday, but one of them ends up leading to his three greatest blessings. Ava has a rough start to life and finally seems to have a chance for a better life but danger continues to surround her via a threat to the girls she nannies and the ex she escaped from at the beginning. Seeing the team when they don’t have significant others or children is always fun and it was precious to see their love for each other spill over to Wilds nieces. The admiral was an unsung hero several times and I loved his inclusion!
Wild is a true dedicated Seal military person, faithful and true friend to his mates. Sad Wild brother (twin) died and cut himself from his brother. Sounds like his brother Colin begrudge being a twin. Being part of a Cult was not good for his mental wellbeing, he begrudge his brother being a military man. Sad for his nieces losing their father, Ava had a sad beginning in her life her relationship did not bring good men in her life, glad she got away from Dylan to star a new beginning elsewhere and she got connected to Wild and his family. Happy they are now together.
I really enjoyed this book. Ava was such a strong character and it was heartbreaking to see that she didn't have anyone to lean on. After getting away from an abusive relationship, she finds a job as a nanny. Wild is a Navy SEAL who is suddenly the guardian for his two nieces after his brother is killed. The story is engaging and well written and I loved watching their relationship develop. I'll be eagerly waiting for the next book in this series!
This story had potential. The the plotline however was wasted on the writing. The pacing of this book is just really fast and when you are dealing with sensitive topics as depicted in this book need more words instead of the author by mentioning the words intensive therapy as a throwaway additionally if the story was supposed to be about someone trying to get used to their new role as a parent, the book didn’t actually have a lot of moments where they were used to their role as a parent.
Ava is on the run from an abusive relationship and Wild has had his life turned upside down with the unexpected death of his brother and getting his two nieces to raise. But lucky for him Ava comes to be his nanny and things settle down for a while. But trouble lurks for him and Ava. Great characters and an HEA.
This was so unbelievable I couldn’t even finish the book. They just dump two kids on this guy and leave. He lives in the barracks, barely knows the kids, no medical records on them, no history and not even car seats for him to take them anywhere which I think is actually illegal.
Everything changes. A gripping saga about how quickly life can change. There are twists to a tale and then there is this story. The pages fly by with each chapter having a new surprise. The characters are all well developed and easy to keep track of. There is plenty of excitement. A few picnics and even a camping trip to die for. The fast pace will leave you hoping for more. A great story!
This charming story had us sympathising with Wild when his life turns upside down. We sigh in relief as Ava comes into the picture. It's sweet & heart warming with a few tricky moments before the HEA.

hmm... book isn't terrible however it somehow lacks depth and development, so everything just feels superficial. additionally, the last ~20% or so felt very rush, like the author just wanna end the story...
I really enjoyed this book. A Seal has his two nieces to look after because of his brother's death. He hires a nanny, who has a couple of unwanted adventures with the girls and people they had lived with. Would recommend this book.
This book was action packed from the start. It kept me on the edge of my seat . Romance, action and a love story what more can you ask for besides another book to read!😍
After a lifetime of bad decisions and even worse men, Ava found the courage to escape her abusive boyfriend and with the help of a kind stranger, made it all the way to San Diego. It was so sad that Ava had no one to turn to and no friends for support, however, it showed Ava’s strong character and determination to end the cycle of abuse. If I could, I would have held her hand and cheered her on. With a stroke of luck, Ava finds herself hired by a childcare agency and it isn’t long before she’s working as a live-in nanny for Wild and his two nieces. Tragically, Wild’s brother died and named Wild as his daughters’ guardian. His panic at being saddled with two young girls is understandable and he is overwhelmed as his new responsibilities kick in. It’s hard to imagine how he would have been able to combine his career as a SEAL with looking after an instant family, but that’s where Ava comes in. As they all settle into their new roles, the girls begin to reveal unsettling things that cause Ava and Wild concern. I enjoyed the glimpse into the bonds between the members of Wild’s SEAL team, which go beyond mere friendship. These guys are closer than brothers and nowhere is that more evident than when Wild needs his team mates the most. I felt the reappearance of Ava’s ex at the end was almost superfluous, as she had already proven she was no longer the frightened woman she had been at the start and that she was willing to fight for those she loved. Abuse is a common problem in these days and time, and Ava has lived it. Now she's on the run for her life. Wild needs to find a nanny fast since he has custody of his nieces. Life is not fair and you have to be strong for yourself.. Excellent read. HEA. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
