This ground-breaking new self-help book is based on interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT), a therapeutic approach being adopted by the government's nationwide Improved Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) programme, alongside cognitive behavioural therapy.
I found this book pretty useless. Most depressed people are isolated- some may have absolutely no one on their “team”. The book sadly doesn’t address this at all, implying one must evaluate one’s current social circle for support with a serious medical issue, even if that circle is almost nonexistent. I just don’t see how this is helpful.
