Financial problems are deadly.

One of things people write me about most is financial problems or setbacks. I know what it means to prosper, and I also know what it means to be completely wiped out financially.

One of the tools that satan uses to destroy incentive, goals and the joy of accomplishment, is financial difficulty. I wrote this book because I care about you and the losses you may experience in life. Read this with an open mind toward God as to how you can become a success in your finances.

"Prosperity Is Having Enough of God's Supply To Complete His Instructions For Your Life...enough of His provisions to accomplish commands and expectations." (Mike Murdock, Ten Lies People Believe About Money)

This book covers 10 lies people believe about money. They are:

1. Money is unimportant;

2. Money is evil;

3. Money never hurt anyone;

4. More money will cure all your problems and guarantee your personal happiness;

5. Some are gifted for wealth and some are destined for poverty;

6. God does not want you to be financially prosperous;

7. You should never try to change or influence your financial situation;

8. The size of your seed is not really important to God.

9. Money is an unspiritual subject and not to be discussed in church.

10. It is selfish and wrong to give expecting to receive in return.

Remember, these are all lies that the Author is exposing. He relates a story of going to a coffee shop at the airport and the waitress who was serving him started talking about how long her hours were, her small apartment and her two children. He asked her the question: "Wouldn't you like to be making more money?" She replied, "No, I would not!...That's what is wrong with our world now: greed. I have enough for my bills and support of my two kids, and that's all I want. People place too much emphasis on money. Money is unimportant." The Author then asked her, "Have you ever heard of Calcutta, India?" and she replied, "Yes." He then asked her if she'd seen pictures of the starving children...and if she had ever sent them food. She replied that she had seen the pictures and that she had never sent them food. He asked her why not? and her reply was "I haven't had enough..." It then dawned on her that she didn't have enough money and that money does count and is important.

In my experience, I think many people believe the lie that "money is evil." The Bible says no such thing. The Bible says, "the love of money is the root of all evil" (See 1 Timothy 6:10). I have studied this subject exhaustively and have learned that "money is neutral". It is neither good nor evil. It is a tool. It can be used for good or evil. Money only magnifies the person who has it. If the person is evil, then it will be used for evil purposes. If the person is good, then it will be used for good purposes. Money is neutral. The Author says, "Many misquote the Bible verse when the apostle Paul wrote to Timothy: "For the love of money is the root of all evil," (1 Timothy 6:10). It does not say that money is evil, but that the love of or obsession for money is the root or the beginning of evil. Why? Because the love of money is idolatry. It is the worship of the creation instead of the Creator."

I'll leave you with his 3 Steps To Reversing Proverty:

1. Determine to Get Debt-Free;

2. Study the Methods of Others Who Have Already Achieved Financial Success; and

3. Activate the Principles of Tithing And Seed-Faith.

He expounds upon these steps in further detail in this book; however, in my opinion, I would have listed tithing first. The principle of tithing has changed my personal financial life. I have never lacked when I tithed. My money seems to stretch and grow. In my early years, I used to withhold the tithe and my money seemed to disappear and I never had enough. I have been doing it for years. Tithing works. Financial blessings come. Material blessings come. Discounts come. Promotions come. Job offers come. Financial opportunities come. Unexpected financial increase comes....The windows of heaven are open over your life, and God pours out so much blessing that you cannot receive it all. There is only one Scripture in the Bible were God says, "test me" and it has to do with the tithe and offerings (See Malachi 3:10). Giving is the cure for greed.

Excellent book that debunks the misconceptions of money! Money is important. Jesus talked about money, and so should we, and we would do well to find out what the Bible says about this important subject. You will be destroyed financially if you lack knowledge in this important area (See Hosea 4:6). Don't believe these lies about money, but be transformed by the Word of God in this area. Don't believe any preacher that says money is unspiritual. It is very spiritual. Your bank account reveals much about your spirituality.

The lies you believe about has a huge impact on how much of it you will be able to command in your life. This short book by Mike clearly identifies these lies and then use bible scriptures to dismiss them. It's a good read and I recommend it.
