🌟🌟🌟1/2 STARS.
Red (Believe #1) by Trista Jaszczak was at heart a lovely sweet read.
It is loosely based on the little red riding hood fairy tale in as much that Samantha Wentworth while on the run from her violent ex runs out of fuel for her motorbike on the outskirts of a town somewhere in Louisiana.
Deciding to camp in the woods till first light, Samantha is surprised by Ethan, running in the woods with his brothers.
Ethan along with his brothers have all been cursed with a moon madness, wolf senses and strength from actions they committed a few years back.
Nicknaming Samantha Red on account of her Red motorcycle helmet and red leather jacket.
Ethan proceeds to get his red out of the woods to safety in an old cabin in the woods.
Here the two connect only to be interrupted by Ethan's Brothers.
So this story is told backwards which at first I thought a bit strange but quickly realised this worked.
The getting to know each other and connection came much later down the line.
You will get what I mean when you read this.
Ethan is less big bad wolf and more like big good wolf, he was such a sweetie.
I found both main characters to be extremely likeable though I did find Red to be a bit timid and introverted at times, easily upset.
Maybe because of her background, which in hindsight is very understandable.
There's also plenty here to keep you on your toes.
A curse, Pack wars, plenty of humour and some super hot action to set those pages alight.
And the banter amongst the brothers was really amusing.
Gave me quite the giggle.
the only thing for me that pulled this down slightly was how easy the other pack went away, it didn't quite make sense after the fuss they'd caused.
And the second thing was it took me a while to feel the connection between Red and Ethan.
I think this was because the brothers kind of overshadowed the pair sometimes.
So for myself, I would have loved to have seen more one on one with Ethan and Red, as the times I did experience when they were alone I really loved.
So, in conclusion, this was such an enjoyable tale and the fact it was loosely based on a fairy tale I loved as a child was an added bonus.

August 2013 Previous Version Read::
This book began as an awesome story, I loved this awesome and different perspective on Little Red Riding Hood! Also how you got the story in dual points of view! Samantha (Red) is the main character in this amazing book. She is escaping and running away from something (we later find out what…but Im not tellin’ hehe) and meets Ethan. A thirty year old bachelor that seems…. A bit too… shall we say eerily trustworthy? After one night with Ethan, Samantha is hooked and vice versa. Their story does not have an instant happy ending however as there are some MAJOR twists and turns! I read the entire second half of this book in one sitting!! I just couldn’t stop!! I laughed and cried and had moments I held my breath through this book! I loved learning about Ethan and his sister and his brothers and then to find out about the curse Ethan and his brothers had… Such an awesome book! I would recommend this to anyone that likes a good paranormal romance or a different ideology of fairy tales with great twists and turns and a bit of adventure in between the beginning and end and not just an instant happy ending. This book was WELL worth the read and I look forward to reading Book Two in The Believe Series as SOON as I can get my hands on it!!

Okay now first, a little disclosure... I AM Trista Jaszczak's PA, however... since my reviews are honest and unbiased, here goes...
I received this book in the form of a PRE-Release Reviewers copy so I will not speak of any grammatical or spelling errors found within.
I had read Little Red previously however the author re-wrote this story and thus I needed to re-read it to be able to give a proper review.
In this story Samantha "Red" is running away from an ex boyfriend and ends up getting whisked off into the woods by the oh so sexy Ethan Parker. I loved how the story flowed throughout and you didn't get lost going from one viewpoint to another as Trista loves to let you see both sides of her stories. If you have read my previous review you will know that in the first version it threw me for a loop for a while with the dual POV, however, this time it was easy to tell and I knew I was going from one character to another. This book is definitely not for your children to read... fairy tale or not this book has a very adult theme to it. There are very well written sex scenes in this book and even though some of them go fast and sudden(for the characters..) You don't feel like there are details that are overlooked such as placements, or any small details that one might be looking for in such a detailed sex scene. There was also more details in the development of each character as well. Each little detail had an explanation that turned out in the story throughout so that nothing was overlooked.
I would recommend this book to anyone that likes semi-erotic paranormal romances with a very alpha male persona throughout.. because these Parker Brothers all have a little Alpha in each of them!!
I give this book 5 out of 5 shields!!

SYNOPSIS: Fall back in love with fairy tales with, Little Red, the first installment of “The Believe Series” by Trista Jaszczak.
Ride along with Sam Wentworth through the winding back roads of Louisiana, on a desperate escape from her past. Where she falls into the arms of the unlikely and sometimes unwilling hero, Ethan Parker. When circumstances and fate seal the two together, entangling them with his 6 older brothers, feuding families and old bayou magic can Ethan put aside everything he has ever known to keep Sam safe from the dangers their lives and their love poses. Can he keep her safe from himself?
THE PLAYERS:

2. Ethan - Cursed by the full moon, youngest brother of 6 also cursed brothers and one deceased twin Sister, lead male p.o.v.

I love fairy tales . I'm finding that I enjoy some retellings... this is one of those moments. It's no spoiler to say that Sam is "little red riding hood" & Ethan is "the Big Bad Wolf". That's as far as this story resembles the original. Sam, who Ethan endearingly calls "Red" due to her beloved Red leather jacket, roars into the story well... She actually stumble's into the story riding a rebuilt motorcycle with no gas gauge. Due to the fact that she is fleeing an abusive and obsessed boyfriend she has left Kentucky with all her possessions fitting in the bikes saddle bags & a very limited amount of money. Sam has no choice but to stop in the middle of no where in Louisiana and camp for the night. Dragging her bike off the road she plans on camping through the night at dealing with her need for gas when the sun comes up.
As the petite, dark haired, blue eyed Sam is trudging into the woods to set up camp she encounters Ethan. That's when the story really takes off! Not only is there instant, steamy , unrealistic , attraction to each other it seems that Sam could be the key to releasing Ethan and his brothers from the curse of the moon.
I liked the switching point of views. Certain chapters were told through Sam's overly weepy eyes and others were told through Ethan's Silver sexy wolf eyes . The story is unique in that way. The wolf / moon curse is different as well.
I found myself rooting for them to succeed , feeling tense when things weren't looking good and being absorbed in the story. I read it non stop and was happy that the ending was a solid ending. I'm very tired of cliff hanger endings and the next book not even having a release date. This was the full package. There is also enough depth to the other character's that it being titled the first book in the "Believe" series I'm counting on more stories about the Parker Pack.
The book has adventure , emotion, and a good old fashioned Happily Ever After. This book is gender friendly , guys can relate, not to chick lit or soft. The romance was there but not explicit. Same goes for language and violence. It being in the genre of a fairy tale retelling allows for some current day changes and fun throw backs to childhood stories that everyone can appreciate . I will defiantly be reading the next book in the "Believe" series.

I was asked to review this book by an author friend and I am always extra nervous about reading the books of my friends because there is always that chance that I am not going like it and then having to tell them that. HOWEVER, thankfully this was NOT one of those times. Little Red was a fast paced, action packed sexy read that had me hooked from start to finish.
Little Red follows Sam, who on the run and trying to hide from her boyfriend. While trying to find a place to sleep she runs into Ethan Parker. And pretty soon, life as she knew it was torn apart. Sam or Red as Ethan calls her because of her red jacket, is pretty kick ass! Even though at times I wanted to slap her, overall she is a really strong main character. Ethan, oh deary, he is yummy. He cares for Sam and would do anything for her. At times he is pretty self centered but he always comes through to protect Sam. With the addiction of Ethan's 6 older brothers you get a very well rounded bunch of characters. There is someone for everyone to like and relate to.
Little Red is such a fast paced story that you are instantly pulled in. It grips completely and doesn't let you go until end. And I do love a good fast read. However, at times I did feel like sometimes it was going way to fast with certain parts of the plot. A lot happens in a short space of time, it just didn't feel realistic sometimes. That is my only negative. I adored the plot, it was different and exciting and sexy. But the sexy times fit in the story. I hate sometimes when authors put in sexy times just to fill pages but Trista has managed to create these scenes that they just flow beautifully.
As you as tell this a "Little Red Riding Hood" retelling. And lately, thanks for ABC's Once Upon a Time I am addicted to retellings and Red in that show is favourite character, so this just makes this book extra special. It is the only retelling of "Little Red Riding Hood" I have read and it has really set the bar on future reads. Trista knows how to tell a story and she really has put her own stamp on the popular fairytale and brings it right up to date. I am really excited to see what else is in store for her new series "The Believe Series".
I highly recommend "Little Red" If you are looking for a fairytale retelling that is unique, exciting, gripping and just fantastic!! With a addictive story and lovable characters that is sure to be a bit hit among fans of retelling and those who just love a good paranormal romance read.

Typically, short story focuses on an unique event, a certain episode or an experience of the main character. Little Red is a small exception because if we were to divide the subject we could do it in three parts that flow smoothly from one to another.
At first you think that everything is going too fast and I was a bit annoyed, unhappy with this. But the author has taken precautions and managed to arouse the interest and the curiosity for the main characters and action, so I continued to read and I cannot say that I'm sorry. What initially seemed to me that it happened too fast it will be prove to be connected and provide the reasons for what will follow. The story’s trump I think is the atmosphere that author manages to convey through the relationships between the characters and the fact that they are presented with the bad and good alike. But more important is that the author creates a subtle parallel between the two dominant types, highlighting those nuances that make the difference between abuse and violence on the one hand and love and the fierce protection on the other.
Needless to say that the main characters are enjoyable. With a terrifying baggage that controll their actions, they survive how they can and I understand them. The secondary positive characters will become very pleasing to the eye (imagination) and heart and they will seem to have at least as many qualities as the main male character but he will not be eclipsed. I would like it if the author would have in her plans stories with them.
In the end, I can say that I read it with pleasure and that the author has done well to sustain the tension and the reader’s curiosity which at some point will have doubts about the happy ending that given story’s genre would be somehow expected.

A New Twist on an Old Tale
When I started reading Little Red, I was a bit put off by the first person, present tense of the story, but it didn't take long before I realized that the writer's voice was both unique and interesting. Going back and forth, chapter by chapter, from one stream of consciousness to the other and doing it effectively, is truly a gift and Jaszczak has demonstrated the technique well. Little Red is the retelling of the story of Little Red Riding Hood, but this time, when Red wanders into the woods, she finds a whole lot more than the big bad wolf. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and look forward to the next installment in the Believe Series.

Loved this fun take on Red Riding Hood. Not only fun but adventurous and at times sensual. I love how Ethan has never been with a woman until Samantha. I love how he sees himself as the Big Bad Wolf when in reality he is a man with wolf qualities struggling to stay good and innocent which he totally is. I love how Ethan is with Sam. I love the protectiveness and the beauty within. I especially love him and his brothers interactions. There were times when smacking Ethan upside the head was needed but his brothers did that and you get to understand more about the wolf side of him in those moments.
From the moment Ethan sees Sam,he is a goner. Not understanding why Ethan is pulled to her and can't seem to stop needing and wanting her. Sam feels it to but not as much. Sam though is running. Running from her past that does come find her until than Ethan and Sam get to know a little about each other. They share their heartaches and past that they normally don't tell anyone. In one heated moment Ethan and Sam come together and this sets about a series of consequences that changes everything for Ethan's family.
The first meeting of Ethan's brothers doesn't exactly go well but as things happen they all get close and the love is dominant. So suddenly Sam is gone and Ethan is frantically searching for her which is unusual because they only knew each other a day. But we see that Ethan is in love with Sam, she is his mate. James and Ethan set out to find her and when they do, trouble occurs. James almost dies and Ethan has to try to control his rage. At this point Sam is all Ethan can think of and he feels her calmness and begins to relax. All the brothers come and they start to feel that way as well and Ian explains why. So beautiful. From that point on all the brothers become overprotective. Things don't come easy for this cute couple even their first nights together and they do get ribbed by his brothers.
What is hurting their HEA is another clan who wants Sam. They do come after her and Ethan has to try to control his rage so that his family can be broken of the wolf curse.
A fun and excitingly fantastic take on the Red Riding Hood tale where Red and the Wolf come together,fall in love and have a HEA. So beautiful.

2014 re-release review:
Wow. The first time I read this, I loved it. And that is coming from a dude. The new release has only gotten better. Sam is tougher, the plot is deeper, the twists are bigger and the book is hotter. Trista has changed a great deal in lieu of having a new publisher and it is amazing. This time Little Red is an 18+ semi-erotic novel. The plot flows perfectly and the sex isn't just mindless scenes that are tossed in they work perfectly and add to the brand new twists to the plot. Trista has done a brilliant job of bringing Red Riding Hood back to life. If you love adult works, fairytales, and a good romance...you need to one click this book.
2012 release review:
Very fast paced and most interesting twist on Little Red Riding Hood. Sam is tough and just wants to get away from Kentucky when she finds herself in Louisiana and in the woods. The events certainly keep you guessing, especially when one certain event happens so early on. But, in a fairy tale retelling, you get the one thing that you hope for.

I started reading Trista's books about a year ago. I fell in love with Darkness Falls: Hunted and Loverboy, while not a book I would normally read, tugged at my heart strings. Trista has an amazing ability to make her characters so real, alive and vivid.
While I love paranormal, science fiction and fantasy books, I have always had a soft spot for fairy tales. Little Red is a retelling of Little Red Riding Hood and I can't wait for the rest of Trista's Believe Series.
Sam is a kick ass woman who is strong, determined, vunerable and a very real character. Ethan, oh dear Ethan, I would love to have you for my own! I'll even take your brothers. The book itself is fast paced, very fast paced. I love that though. I often find myself skipping ahead in books because I hate the slow parts. The ending is a true HEA and I couldn't be happier for the main characters!
Little Red is going not only on Kindle with my other favorite books, but is also going on my keeper bookshelf with my paperbacks!

when i got this book in my hand i could not stop reading it. i fell in LOVE with red and ethan within an instant. i loved the mysterey of it. little red will pull you into the book where you cannot put it down! over all this is now one of my fav books! i could read it over and over again. trista done an amazing job on this book and the details will leave you with cold chills! little red is amazing!

Once I started reading this book it only took me 4 hours to finish it I could not put it down(except for when my kids made me). This is the first book I have read by Trista and I will definitely be reading more. Well done Trista!!

I'm much older and it probably falls out of my age group but I loved it. There is a special bond between Red and Parker family. They're lovable, funny and though fast paced it's a great read. It takes Little Red Riding Hood and flips it into a romance for adults.

A Review of the Book Little Red by Trista Jaszczak
Greetings once again my literary lovelies! Today I will be posting my review of the book, Little Red from the Believe series by Trista Jaszczak. In the interest of full disclosure and honesty, I won a copy of this book by attending the online release event for the novel. That said allow me to share with you my thoughts and insights on this story.
For my male readers, allow me to apologize because I am sure this book is not your cup of tea. Alas, romance in the industry thrives but I am sure at some point I will review something that appeals to you instead. Now down to the nitty gritty…
Ladies, we were all raised on the fairy tales of happily ever after, but what if it were possible to live one out in our everyday world. That is one tantalizing twist that author Trista Jaszczak has brought to us in the first novel of her Believe series. Admittedly we now live in a literary community rife with vampires (some that even sparkle…ugh), werewolves, fairies, and zombies that run amuck through so many different novels. As such, it is not common that you find a differentiation or new presentation to the above states of being; however, Mrs. Jaszczak has found a way to do so.
Without giving away spoilers (because you all know how I feel about spoilers), I can tell you that there is a unique twist to the paranormal/fantasy part of this story that I myself have not encountered to date. It offers a unique blending of beliefs and superstition from most known paranormal lore and adds a twist that is based on real world belief and superstition that lends a realistically believable quality to the story. This unique perspective adds a sort of balance to the story that makes it a far cry easier to accept then some of the old paranormal stories of typical lore.
The story is fast-paced and decidedly intense from the beginning, throwing you straight into the middle of the action that acts as a major plot point of the book. Written from the perspective of the two main characters of the story, I will be honest that this can be a decidedly difficult transition between scenes, but serves to give you a better understanding of the main characters themselves as the story progresses.
Little Red puts you in the middle of the Story of Sam and Ethan. Sam is a woman trying to escape a troubling past and Ethan is a man that is struggling to cope with his own until the day fate decides to push them together. While this is your typical romance, I will be honest in saying that the author also brings up key points that are of volatile debate on domestic violence and the victims of said homes.
I will be honest in saying that I would have liked to have seen more to the story. An expanding on the backstory and a true look into the character’s lives before the events of the novel began to unfold. That said, I will say that this story has no point where it drags but instead offers a constant flow of events and dialogue that keep you attentive while watching the story unfold.
While I will admit I would have liked for the story to expand more on certain aspects, I give this book four out of five stars. It offers the reader a modern fairy tale while keeping the supernatural aspects to a more believable and realistic scale. For its presentation as a small fairy tale, Little Red offers a down to earth, everyday offering of a happy ending in a manner that most people will enjoy!

I like paranormal and fantasy stories, but I don't tend to read a lot of them compared to romance or straight fiction. Little Red seemed like it might be another typical paranormal story, so I was prepared for that. What I didn't expect was the fascinating twist that sets this story apart from so many others. If you like zero spoilers, stop reading and know that it's a good surprise and the story is well worth a read if you're into paranormal.
SPOILER SPACE
Now, for the rest of you who can handle a spoiler or two, male lead, Ethan - who plays the Big Bad Wolf in this paranormal/fairytale story - is part of a pack, which consists of him and his six brothers. I expected this to be a typical shifter story, where these guys were cursed werewolves. Nope. Not even close. Which is what made it so interesting.
Ethan and his brothers all have the curse of the wolf - they have dog-like skills while still retaining their human forms. Their curse is not to shape-shift into a wolf and be consumed by the beast at a full moon, but to be forced to endure those same feelings without the benefit of being an animal at the time it takes place. The primal feelings, the rage, the passion, these things overwhelm the Parker brothers each full moon, and they have to control their urges.
On one such night, Ethan comes across Samantha, a woman on the run from an abusive man. The pull between them is intense and it turns out, Sam - or Red, as Ethan calls her because of her red leather jacket - is destined to be Ethan's mate. If I tell you more than that, well, I'll ruin the rest of the story for you, and I don't want to do that. It's a great read, compelling and easy, action-packed and well-paced. The details are abundant but not overwhelming and the settings, though in the south, could probably have been anywhere and still work. Little twists and turns here and there added to the narrative.
I really liked these characters, and anyone who knows my reviews can recall that I love a story with characters that make me feel. Ethan and Red were a great couple, chemistry that burned the pages and a love that was amplified by the pull of the moon. But what made this story for me were the supporting characters - the brothers Parker made me laugh, cry, swoon and shake my head. I thought that Trista did an amazing job illustrating how it might actually feel to BE a wolf in human skin. For this alone, the story automatically gets 3 stars from me, even if the rest is awful. It wasn't.
Given that I had an ARC version, I think the quality of the manuscript was excellent and that bumped it up another whole star. I'll admit that my personal biases probably prevent me from giving it a full 5-star rating, so that's why, in the rating on my blog, I'm giving it another half star. For anyone who likes paranormal or fairy tales, I'd recommend the book and suggest that you'll probably feel inclined to bump the rating above mine.
Overall, a quick, exciting and rewarding read. I'd definitely be interested in reading more from this author.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this book. There was a “big bad wolf” (several really) without shifters. How fun! This author did a fantastic job with a smash up of several genres – fairy tales, paranormal, fantasy, folk lore, and of course romance and, did it quite well. This story grabbed me and held me hostage until the very end. It was amazing.
When I started this, I was reading with a “tongue in cheek” grin on my face because really – Little Red Riding Hood meets Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs! It was imaginative and fun. Samantha Wentworth came cruising in on a motorcycle wearing a red jacket and helmet and immediately gets dubbed “Red” by the “big bad wolf” – Ethan Parker. It was too funny. Too make it even more grin worthy, six more “wolves” show up, for a total of seven, who also decide to call her Red. By the end of the book I had forgotten her real name because none of these wolves ever called her anything but Red. A little later, just to make the smash up illusion(?) complete, we actually have the Ethan give her kiss to wake her up. “It worked with Snow White.” *grinning ear to ear. *
With this kind of beginning I just had to keep reading to see where this story took me. When I read how there were wolves without shifters, well, this actually made total sense to me. Moon madness! Of course! I totally believe this exists, not to the extent it did in this book, but this little bit of realism worked for me.
I felt the author did a good job with character development. These characters were fun and endearing, for “big bad wolves.” I thought Red did an admirable job trying to cope with being thrown into this world of fantastic folk lore after escaping from a world of abuse. It would be enough to send anyone around the bend, but she managed to mostly hang on to her sanity. Then, there was all those lovely, drool worthy wolves, (Yum!) wanting to protect and keep her safe. Oh my! Lucky girl!
The story moved along well. There was action and suspense, as well as a couple trying to get to know each other in all this chaos. The romance felt real. It was not rushed or forced. Although Red and Ethan acknowledged the undeniable attraction they had for each other, they also acknowledged the fact they didn’t “know” each other and took the time to do that. It was nice and sweet, especially considering all the older brothers that were around all the time being brothers. I loved it.
This is the first time I have read this author but, it will not be the last time. I love how she took the old and familiar and made something new and exciting. I look forward to reading another book.

This is the first book that I've read by Trista and I have to say, it was good. This is a version of Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf.
"The big bad wolf might get you, Red."
The story revolves around Samantha (Red) and Ethan. I actually forgot her name was Sam because they call her Red throughout the book. Red is running from an abusive ex who is not willing to let go and finds Ethan when her bike runs out of gas near his home. She has not had an easy life and made a break for it the moment she could. Ethan immediately wants to protect her and the connection between the two comes on quick as we learn that Ethan has his own demons. His twin sister was murdered and he is cursed into a rage whenever the full moon is upon him. His brothers suffer the same fate but Ethan is the only one that can break the curse because of actions taken by his brothers.
The relationship between the two is quick and was a little strange to me at first but you get engrossed into the story once Ethan's brothers come into the picture as well to help protect her. I wasn't crazy about Red's character really. She spends most of the time crying and kind of just wringing her hands in a corner without really doing much. She starts off admirably, trying to forge a new future and stating that she was done letting others control her life and then she just lets Ethan and his brothers do just that. I found the brothers as a whole much more interesting than just the couple. It's a short read and quite a lot is packed into it. Each brother has his own unique power incited by the curse and it was fun to see them all together, slapping one another upside the head when one of them said something stupid and teasing one another. LOL. Ian was my favorite and I'm hoping they each get their own story.

If you are a fan of fairy tales with a happy ending, this book is right up your alley. This was the first book by Trista Jaszczak that I have read. I was intrigued by the paranormal aspect of the blurb and was happy I received a copy to read.
I thought the Ms. Jaszczak gave us a great cast of characters that got me involved with humor, sex and drama throughout the story.
The story begins with Red (aka Samantha) who was running away from an abusive relationship, when she finds herself stuck in the Louisiana woods due to her motorcycle running out of gas. Ethan (the Big Bad Wolf) shows up and comes to her rescue, immediately you feel the sexual tension rise when they meet.
The story evolves around a curse that happened on a full moon, when Ethan's twin sister was killed. The moon curse changed Ethan's and his brother's moods and senses, especially during a full moon.
As Ethan wants to help Red, the ex-boyfriend comes into the picture, hence the drama builds. I won't give away what happens, but you will enjoy the ending, no cliffhanger.
The secondary characters are Ethan's brothers who are like little wolf cubs fighting and acting out all of the time. The brother's antics had me laughing so hard, that I hope they will get their own stories one day.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a nice steamy romance with a mixture of paranormal and fantasy.
I give if a four out of five stars.

This book had an interesting concept, replaying a version of a modern day fairy tale but it was just okay for me and I never felt truly engaged.
The book jumps right into the story with only a little build up and then there is a lot going on throughout. Parts felt drawn out, and at times, a bit choppy. I tried to accept it as-is, knowing it was a fairy tale, but I never felt truly connected.
The two main characters were Red (Sam) and Ethan. Red doesn’t seem very strong to me, mostly overwhelmed, which I get considering her situation and background. I liked Ethan for the most part but at times there were internal battles with him and I just wanted to shake my head and say enough already. I did enjoy Ethan’s brothers. They were all very sweet and I liked them because they cared unconditionally for Ethan and Red and would do anything for them.
In the end it picked up and there was some drama. I enjoyed that but it wrapped up quickly, I wanted more. I like how the connection to the fairy tale was explained in the epilogue. I was happy that Red and Ethan got their happily ever after. After everything that happened, I wanted that for them.
Overall, I thought Little Red was just aright. I was curious enough about the characters to finish the story because I wanted to see how it played out.

This was a great retelling of little red riding hood! We have Sam AKA Red who is on the run from a abusive boyfriend. when Sams bike runs out of gas and she has no choice to set up camp in the woods. Thats when she meets her "big bad wolf" Ethan! Both Red and Ethan have terrible heartbreaking past. when Red finds out that Ethan and his 6 bothers have a secret that she can help with she wants nothing but to help .They both are going to need to each other to get pass the danger that is coming for them.
this was not your typical shifter story, which i loved! All the characters, but mostly the 6 brothers in this story made me laugh. I loved that each one added something different to the story and i couldn't see this story being the same without them.
The love that Red and Ethan had,is so strong and you could truly feel it in the writing! I hope that we get to read more about this wonderful family!

Ian grasps for it, seeming too excited to contain himself. “You do realize she just peed on that.” Aaron says in a calm voice. Ian drops the stick and it crashes to the floor.

Red is scared and ends up running off and her ex finds her and takes her back to his place. He beats and abuses her. What both Red and Ethan don’t know is that she is pregnant with Ethan’s child well make that children, twins. Ethan and his brothers get Red back and take her to the safety of Ethan’s home. Red never had what Ethan has which is a family and like Ethan wanting so bad to be a good man she wants a family just as bad. This meeting between Ethan and Red changes both their destinies. Red realizes that Ethan is a man she cannot live without and Ethan realizes he cannot without Red. They both must face their past in order have a future together. Will they be able to accomplish this or will they allow their pasts to destroy what could be? Will the curse be broken or will the true big bad wolves destroy this family’s chance for happiness? When I first started to read this book I thought of the fairy tale and wondered if this was going to be like it and wolves were going to be bad and Oh yeah, they were bad, they were very bad but not in the same way as the original fairy tale. Oh there are true big bad wolves don’t get me wrong and boy they were bad. Just when you thought you knew what would happen next but it changed. The bad wolves try everything they can to destroy what Ethan, Red, and his brothers have built. The question is do they succeed? You will have to read it to find out…
This is a very good paranormal fairy tale. It is a well written story that kept you wondering. It has magic, love, evil and happily ever after everything a fairy tale should have.

His gray eyes suddenly turn on me. I stop dead in my tracks and stare back. They’re bright, silvery glow almost matches the full moon. “The big
bad wolf might get you, Red,” He winks.
I let out an unsure chuckle. By big bad wolf, he could mean himself or an actual animal. I feel my
heart rate quicken as he shoots me another smile, “Don’t worry, I won’t hurt you.”
I let my eyes shift around the room. “What’s your name?” James asks.
Before I can say anything, Aaron, who is still clutching my red leather jacket, laughs, “Why, it’s
Little Red Riding Hood.”
“Don’t you get it?” Aaron asks. “You, Little Red, have stumbled on the wolves den.” He laughs maniacally, turning his head up into a howl like pose.
I help her up and she slowly heads towards the bathroom that’s attached to James’s room. “There are some gloves over here, Red!” I hear Ian call after her. Eli groans, “She’s not going to pee on her hands. She knows what she’s doing.”
It’s amazing how, when you’re waiting on something, 3 minutes can seem like forever. But, that’s how long it takes for Red to emerge with the white stick in her hand. Ian grasps for it, seeming too excited to contain himself. “You do realize she just peed on that.” Aaron says in a calm voice. Ian drops the stick and it crashes to the floor.

So, I bet you were thinking this is all Little Red Riding Hood… Well, it is… but it isn’t. Little Red is an adult with some serious issues and a totally warped past. The Big Bad Wolf, isn’t bad, nor a wolf. But I’m getting ahead of myself. This is a very VERY cool retelling of the fairy tale. This is also the more adult, much more realistic tale, as the fairy part leaves out all the things that happen in life, like fights, and kidnapping, and abuse. :) I am now a fan of this author, as I loved the way it was done.
So Sam, aka Red, is red riding hood. She is literally called Red the whole story so I would forget her name is actually Sam. LOL She’s had a rough life. I feel bad for her, and then I wanna slap her sometimes because no one should ever take abuse as an adult, but when you’ve had it your whole life, I guess you can’t help it. But when you get the chance to rescue yourself, why, oh why, would you continue to not learn from your mistakes, like staying away from said abuser. Anyways, on the positive note, I do believe her as a character. She wants to better herself and she’s sweet and kind, even with her past. She’s funny. She’s got an awesome motorcycle. LOL She, however, totally pulled a majorly ridiculous stunt toward the end that I wanted to kill her myself for pulling. *sigh* But even with that, I am actually a fan of Red. I do understand how being surrounded by 7 crazy men would probably drive me a little insane :)
Ethan is…. the big bad wolf…. again, he isn’t bad, or a “wolf” but I will leave that in quotations, because you will have to read it to get it. Like, seriously, at first, I was taken back, because how do you have a big bad wolf without the wolf, but this is a totally awesome way to spin it. And well done, as well. Ethan is a major little hottie. I mean, I want an Ethan. However, being from Louisiana, I think we may clash, because I would totally put him and all his brothers in “their place” which is not the alpha! HAHAHAHA Yeah, it’s a Louisiana thing :) But I like him. Alot. He literally meets Sam, and wham, he’s figured out she’s his mate in just a few short hours after meeting her, and then things go like crazy sideways. I don’t know how else to put it, because everything went nuts. LOL However, that big bad wolf will do anything to protect his mate. And though he loses it midway through, he came around. He, or any of those crazy brothers, can be my big bad wolf anytime :)
So, this story is also a little mystery as well. Because you will find out that there is a big bad wolf. And there’s trouble. And some serious plot twists. There wasn’t anything like this in the original Little Red Riding Hood. LOL I loved that part. It’s still a romance fairy tale story, but it’s got action, it’s got heart ache, it’s got some major plot twists that maybe aren’t so PG, and it’s definitely got intrigue appeal. I read this one in one sitting because I really just enjoyed it. I’ve decided I wanna be Team Colt or Aaron-as they are twins LOL I bet that would go over well :) Anyways, if you are a fan of fairy tale retellings, you should really check this one out! I’m hoping that this will be a series not only helping out Ethan’s brothers find their fairy tale endings, but maybe to reach out with some of the other fairy tales added to it :) 4.5 UNPREDICTABLE FAIRY TALE INSPIRING PAWS!!

Little Red is a good read for anyone who enjoys a creative twist on familiar fairy tales.
When Sam’s motorcycle runs out of gas in the middle of nowhere Louisiana, she’s rescued by the sexy and handsome Ethan Parker. An intense attraction brings them in to each other’s arms before Ethan is able to share a very important and dangerous secret. But the wheels of fate are already in motion, and these two lives will be forever connected.
One of my favorite parts of this book is the cast of lovable characters. Of course there’s Ethan, our troubled, sexy hero, who is fighting to be the good man he so desperately wants to be. He (and Sam, or “Red” as she comes to be called) are surrounded by his brothers: funny, protective, loving, and caring; the family Sam never had but wanted more than anything. Sam’s character is a little weak for my tastes but she does show strength when necessary, and she provides a good balance for Ethan.
The story tumbles along, there’s some action and secrets unravel. Red leaves Ethan after their initial meeting, and he must find her and rescue her, and they begin to work on making this strange, unplanned relationship work. There’s some ups and downs, but I was definitely rooting for this couple. The book has a slight lull in the middle, the action wanes and situations become a bit repetitive, but the story picks up in the end. The reader is rewarded with a heart-pounding climax and a lovely, emotional conclusion: a happily ever after befitting this romantic, sometimes dark, but ultimately hopeful fairy tale.

Little red stares Samantha (AKA Red) and Ethan. Samantha is running from her horrible Ex who has been abusing her. She has no one but herself and all her possessions strapped into two little saddle bags on her motorcycle, which breaks down on a road in Louisiana. In an attempt to hid herself she pulls her motorcycle off the road and heads for the dark trees when she is found by Ethan, who isn’t about to leave her alone in the forest for the night.
Samantha and Ethan make one heck of a connection in the forest and before she knows it she’s suddenly knee deep in testosterone when his six brothers show up. There’s definitely something strange about the whole group, why are they acting like a pack of dogs and what’s with this sudden claim on Red being Ethan’s? It’s okay though, his brothers are the good guys. But if they’re the good guys, who is playing the villain in this Little Red Riding Hood remake? You’ll just have to read to find out.
Every character is unique, the little time lapses that occur during the story was executed nicely, and the shifting between characters was easy enough to follow. There is loads of humor and at times I didn’t pictures the men being as old as they were supposed to be, but when you have this many men floating around, of course, you can expect some childishness. So I must applaud the author for keeping each of the characters an individuals and not getting then lost or muddled together. (James and Aaron were my favorites)
With all the good stuff aside I will point out that I found the characters moving a bit too fast. At one point Red’s on the run, following a stranger into the forest at night, listening to him tell his tragic life’s story, and then she too, pours her heart out. I understand the trauma and wanting to share it. I was screaming stranger the whole time. But I will say the connection with ‘their tree’ tied up close at the end when Ethan pretty much is about to kick some butt was very nice.
And who wouldn’t love the ending? I know I was smiling.

This was definitely an interesting take on the story of Little Red Riding Hood.
I can't remember if this was an ARC or not, but if it wasn't I'd advise the author have their editors and/or beta readers go over it again. There are quite a number of very noticeable errors in the copy I have.
I really enjoyed the story. Red and Ethan are amazing main characters, even if Red comes off as being a tad whiny a lot of the times. I was sad to see the story end really. It seemed that just as it was getting really good, it ended.
I like how there's the use of old bayou lore for the main base of the plot line, and I especially liked the big good wolf act Ethan shows to not only help himself and Red to save his brothers as well.
Ethan's brothers are amazing, even if a couple of them come off as a little assholish in the beginning, it's explained, repeatedly, why that happened. One part that made so little sense to me was when Ethan snaps and Red knows why due to the phase of the moon, she still felt it was just deliberately said without there even being the actual reason to Ethan's "moon rage" being accounted for.
I look forward to reading The Shoe which is another new rendition of a classic fairy tale as well as other works this author releases.

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
This was the first book that I have read by the author and I have to say she is definitely creative with all the fairy tales we grew up. I love those tales even better now with the adult twist that she has put in them. This is the story of Little Red Riding Hood, only this time she is nicknamed Red. There are tales down in Louisiana that people believe in of curses, voodoo, and other cultural folklores. Sam Wentworth is running away from her past (I would too if I lived through that and probably would get rid of that problem one way or another) and ends up in the Louisiana woods without gas where she met Ethan. Ethan and his family has had an unfortunate incident happen when he was younger which changed their lives forever. Each of the brothers are different and I would love to see more of them as in each having their own book!!!1You cannot help but fall in love with Ethan and the way he is from the beginning an all around sweet loving and caring (he obviously did not get the full problem that his brothers did); and the way that he treats Sam from the beginning of the story is an true loving romance.
The author throughout the book goes back and forth between both main characters as we look into their mind. I wish that the book could have been a little longer but definitely understand and respect the choices of the author. I enjoyed this book and as I said love the characters. Definitely will be reading more books in the future by this author.

What happens when Little Red Riding Hood meets the sexy Big Bad Wolf? Little Red was a modern retelling of the classic story of "The Little Red Riding Hood" with a semi-erotic twist. It was an interesting story that had a happy ending.
I quite enjoyed the concept of the story and the characters. Here we had Sam (Little Red) running away from an abusive boyfriend only to encounter Ethan, the Big Bad Wolf who was not really bad. These two were immediately attracted to each other and instantly become close when learning of each other's dark past. Their past was heart breaking to read, which gave these two characters dimension. The other characters were also well developed. I especially loved Aaron, Ethan's older brother, who acted very macho but was a softie at heart. What I found the most intriguing about this book was how it played with the idea of the werewolf. Ethan and his brothers were very "special." These elements made reading this book enjoyable.
However, this book was not perfect for me. One, a big character was dropped right away, which I would have liked to have read more of to make the story more intense. And two, I don't like how fast everything was going when it came to the romance. I dislike insta-love in stories and this one had it. Luckily, the author knew how to tie the romance very well towards the end that I felt that it got redeemed.
As a whole, this was a decent read. Yes, it did have a few sore spots for me but it was still a very good read. The plot, the characters, and the take on werewolves were well done.

At first,the book seems quite disappointing..It seems very cliche and without that special spark..But,the story really gets better..
The beginning of the story seems rushed and the characters have that hot connection due to which they share their family secrets..Not to mention that the girl actually follows the guy into the woords and the cabin..And then, um they sleep together in just few hours...I would like that to happen more gradually rather than jumping right into it..
The,the girl disappears (I still don't quite grasp that)and gets kidnapped and later on she gets rescued by James and Ethan..
From that point on,the book has jumped to a whole other level..The characters are good,the story has a nice flow,full of supernatural elements that accompany the romantic ones..
Ethan's brothers are what make this book so fun and nice to read..I enjoyed all 6 of them..Each of them had a nice part to play in the book,without being too overwhelming or too absent..I found a beautiful harmony in the story...
It is a nice and refreshing read from all the romance and the 100%fantasy books that grasp the majority of the readers...It brings out the simplicity and the beauty that the fairytales always have...

I wasn't sure if I would like this book or not. But it surprised me, it turned out really good. A different tale of an old fairy tale. I laughed, had tears in my eyes and worried throughout the whole book. It has a mixture of everything and is fast paced but you're not left going "huh".
As our story begins, I'll admit I was little frustrated cause I didn't if it was a guy or girl talking. But that finally becomes quite clear, and then our story of Samantha (Red) begins. You soon find out she's on the run from an ex and for good reason. I actually liked Red, she has a backbone despite what she's been through. She has a calming effect on all the brothers.
Now as for Ethan, you can tell he's quite new to the whole girlfriend thing. But he gets a BIG surprise when they finally track Red down. Throughout the whole book you can tell he's struggling to keep his rage in check. He has to keep it in check long enough to break the curse. As for the ending I couldn't help but laugh it was just too cute. Overall this is a great story and I recommend.

As our story begins, I'll admit I was little frustrated cause I didn't if it was a guy or girl talking. But that finally becomes quite clear, and then our story of Samantha (Red) begins. You soon find out she's on the run from an ex and for good reason. I actually liked Red, she has a backbone despite what she's been through. She has a calming effect on all the brothers.
Now as for Ethan, you can tell he's quite new to the whole girlfriend thing. But he gets a BIG surprise when they finally track Red down. Throughout the whole book you can tell he's struggling to keep his rage in check. He has to keep it in check long enough to break the curse. So the question becomes can he hold onto the calmness or not?

There are so many versions of this fairy tale that finding a new take on it becomes monotonous. But, look no further than Little Red, this is one that you will want to read.
Chemistry is the greatest tool an author uses, if you don’t have that your story and characters will not thrive in their world. Nor will your audience connect to them. These characters flowed flawlessly, easily from page to page as I devoured this book. Little Red is different and unusual, and definitely not for everyone. It’s filled with drama, suspense and delicious sexual tension.
I found myself drawn further and further into the fictional world of Little Red. If you’re a fan of turning folklore and fairy tales into a new, modern and original story, then you’ll want to head out and grab a copy of this one. It has the original base, but with a modern twist. Any paranormal lover should give it a shot as well.
