Obsession
When a manuscript called Obsession lands on his desk, Max Hughes is surprised to himself obsessed with both it and its author. The author, Jo, is still having trouble adjusting to life as a vampire three years on from being turned and finds herself unable to overcome her unquenchable thirst for Max's blood, so she arranges to meet him at the estate, where her friends can supervise them. Max survives the visit, only to fall over a gruesomely murdered body as he leaves Jo's house.
Their lives collide in the most catastrophic of ways when it becomes clear that a prolific serial killer, The Avatar, has left the body as an invitation for Oceana, Queen of the Vampires, to come and play.
As they begin a race to catch the murderer before he can kill again, Max finds himself unable to walk away because of his infatuation with Jo and becomes embroiled in a dark world where vampires, witches and evil lurk at every turn. Wow! This book is the third in the series and we all know the third can be the tricky one to get right but this author never fails to disappoint. I was gripped from page 1 and can't wait for the next one.
