The fate of all shifters rests on Slade’s broad shoulders, but all he can think about is her.

Slade is a mystery. A warrior and spy who serves two masters - those in the human world and the Lords of the Were. They've sent him to Nevada to track a brutal murderer before the existence of all shifters is revealed to a world not ready to know.

Kate is a priestess serving the Goddess and the large community of shifters that have gathered around the Redstone Clan of werecougars. When their matriarch is murdered and the scene polluted by dark magic, she knows she must help the enigmatic man sent to track the killer.

Together, Slade and Kate uncover not one, but two, evil mages that they alone can neutralize. It's a tricky situation because Slade finds it hard to keep his hands off his sexy new partner, the cougars are out for blood, and the killers have an even more sinister plan in mind.

Can Kate somehow keep her hands to herself when the most attractive man she's ever met makes her want to throw caution to the wind? And can Slade do his job and save the situation when he's finally found a woman who can make him purr?

My Rating: ❤❤❤❤
VERY GOOD: The characteristics of a 4 star book include: a great story; I loved the characters; and there was an interesting plot and unique story elements; there may have been a few odd things kept the story from being amazing. I would read it again and I would recommend it to a friend.
Initial Reaction: Wonderful continuation in the Tales of Were series. I love how D'Arc keeps the series interesting by adding in different types of paranormal species.

Rating's Breakdown:
Quality of writing: Very Good

Pace: Easy and Even

Characters: Well thought out and compelling. I loved Slade and Kate's personas. They were very well suited for one another.

Plot development: Satisfying

Story line: Straight and to the point. No unnecessary fluff or filler added.

Enjoyability: Very enjoyable and I'd happily do a re-read.

Heat Level: Hot! That bathroom scene between Kate, Slade and Steve was smoking hotttt!

My Thoughts: I enjoyed this Tales of Were story very much. It was a quick and easy read and I really appreciate the continuation of this series because each story is unique with its own story line and characters but builds upon the major theme that a battle is brewing between the forces of good and evil. I'm sure that all of the characters in the series, thus far, will play major roles in the upcoming battle.

I look forward to seeing what Ms. D'Arc comes up with next. I hope we get to learn about Magnus and his vampire. That should be a really good story :).

Slade is the newest addition to her Lords of the Were and I continue to enjoy this series as Bianca D'Arc skillfully continues to integrate it with her Brotherhood of Blood books. Hot shifters, beautiful priestesses, agents of evil and a compelling story line kept me enthralled throughout the story.

I have to admit I fell a bit in love with Slade in Rocky, the previous Lords of the Were story. There's just something about a man of mystery that is really attractive especially when combined with a sly sense of humor. His power is a good match for Kate as they battle the evil venificus. Slade (LW5) also includes some of the more exotic shifters and I can't wait to see them in later stories.

While each new book contains new characters, locations, and stories, Bianca continues to keep the series story arc moving along while satisfying her readers by including many previously introduced characters. Each new story is a bit like revisiting old friends.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys erotic paranormal romance but suggest you start with Lords of the Were #1 since each book builds on the events of the previous story.

Another solid 5-star in the Tales of the Were series. I've been a lover of this series since first introduced to the storyline in the Brotherhood of Blood books. The interwined plotline is great. After Rocky, I was thrilled to see Slade coming out so soon. The world building is so solid - mixing were, magic, vamps and humans - you can truly believe you belong there. This book is no exception to that.

If you haven't read the were series, jump in and hang on. You'll devour them and you won't be sorry. I can't wait for the next book.

Well done Ms. D'Arc.

Kate was just settling in her new home in Nevada, blessing the area

Slade was head of security for the Lords, Tim and Rafe. They got a phone call from the Alpha in Nevada. A death of his mother, it was murder. He needed help, Slade had the set skills to help track down those whom did it. Grif and his brothers were angry and wanted blood. They couldn't see straight, Slade was to appease to there senses while tracking those whom took the matriarchs life. When Kate first met Space, she knew something special was happening. She was a priestess for the Redstone clan, it was her job to seek out the evil that was around the death site. Joining forces with Slade was going to be interesting. He was so handsome, she needed to be around him. Was there time for seeking out those feelings and catching killers? She wanted to find out.

4.5. (inglés). (Explícito). Me encantó. Lo volvería a leer y se abordó un poco más el tema de los Venifucus y hasta los altor custodis. Ese nombre, Ethan Abrahamson, me parece familiar.
Narrado en tercera persona y ofrece los puntos de vista de los protagonistas.

Kate is the new Priestess of the Redstone Clan and one morning, while out for a walk, she feels the evil that has appeared in the Clan’s home. When Kate gets back to the matriarch’s house, it is to find her killed and worse. Now Kate is doing all she can to keep the matriarch’s sons and leaders of the Clan from exposing their world to the humans in their grief and need for revenge. Kate is extremely grateful to learn that the Lords of Were are sending someone to help with the situation.

Slade is a powerful and very magical shifter and the head of security for the Lords of Were. When he is sent to find a murder and get justice for the killing of a well-loved woman and matriarch, Slade finds a situation that is about to boil over with the Redstone Clan leaders, but he expected that with his knowledge of what had happened. What he didn’t expect was his instant attraction to the Clan’s new Priestess. However, Slade readily accepts her help in tracking down what happened during the murder and locating who was behind it.

Kate and Slade become a justice seeking team pretty quickly and move fast to find the missing clues and obtain the answers that will keep the Redstone Clan leaders from exposing all their secrets. While gathering the information that will lead Kate and Slade to the killers, they also transverse the attraction that rapidly turns to passion between the two of them. Danger seems to be keeping step with Kate and Slade, however, when the final trap is sprung, it is the good guys who come out on top and receive the justice that was needed, even if it can’t totally heal a family who had its heart torn out. For Kate and Slade, the real question is what will happen to them and their love now that their quest is over, and Slade has no reason to stay in the Redstone Clan’s lands?

A horrible death brings Priestess and a very special shifter together, but it will be love that will hold them together forever. Kate and Slade learn this truth in Slade. I could tell just how volatile the situation was as Slade showed up at the Redstone Clan’s home for the first time. And yet, I didn’t miss that first moment of attraction when Kate and Slade met the first time. I really loved watching how well Kate and Slade were able to team up and push forward through the danger and daily stress to find the killers and bring them to the Goddess’s justice. This is one power couple, and I mean that in every meaning, that will be hard to beat as years go on. Slade takes a horrible situation and proves that love and light will always overcome all forms of evil.

When evil lurks. When humanity is in danger. When the Were are compromised. That is when you need the best. Bianca D'Arc tantalizes us in her fifth book of The Tales of the Were Series, Slade.

Kate is a powerful priestess who has finally found a home amongst the Redstone Clan. She is devoted to them, especially the Clan Matriarch. When that very woman is murdered Kate is determined to help in the search for her killer. She knows her magic can help. What she doesn't count on is her attraction to the incredibly mysterious Slade.

Slade is a man of mystery committed to ensuring the safety of mankind and in keeping the Were's secrets safe. He is a master spy sent in by the Lord's of the Were to investigate. What he finds is not only the evil he is looking for but also the acceptance of Clan for who and what he is. Because Slade is much more than what he seems.

Finding love when you are tracking down evil can be a scary thing. Consider if you will, knowing that the expertise of the person you are falling for can help but you also fear the constant danger. How do you balance those two separate needs? How do you accept that if you refuse the help you may loose the woman? Slade has so much to deal with and yet like in all of Ms. D'Arc's books this story sizzles. Maybe because of the conflict and maybe because Bianca is just that good.

Having read this series way out of order I can see the foreshadowing of a battle to come. I was thrilled to have areas in the story filled in for me and yet still have questions.. ooo the mystery that is being crafted. I can not wait for the next installment in Ms. D'Arc's sensual delight!

I really love the Tales of Were series and am always glad to get a chance to get back to it. It took me longer than usual to read but that is no reflection on the writing or the story being told. The characters are interesting and help to push the story forward because you believe in them. The attraction between the mains is believable if you give yourself over to the concept of fated mates and not just love/lust at first sight. The language is pitch perfect because you know they talk like you would expect someone from their part of the country to speak. Everything that happens helps to further the bigger story that plays in the background about the evil that is trying to surface.

Kate is a priestess of the Lady who has come to live in the territory of the Redstone Clan and been welcomed by their matriarch. While welcoming the Sun one morning she feels a great evil close by that shatters the hearts of the Redstone brothers. When their mother is killed they go all out to find the culprit and in their grief could expose all shifters to humans.

Slade does security for the Lords and other special assignments as needed. He is sent by Rafe and Tim to Nevada to make sure that Griffon Redstone and his brothers do not expose them all. Slade has secrets which he has kept even from the Lords which he shares with Grif in order to get him to trust him. When he meets Kate the assignment takes on a whole new dimension for the usually loner cat.

I loved the heat level since it built up before they got to indulge in anything physical. The romance is sweet and Slade is good kitty to have around the house. Kate is a strong woman who can hold her own even though she has had a hard life. Everything to love and nothing to hate here. Enjoy it!

5 Stars Slade

I fell in love with both Slade and Kate quite early in this book and the more I read the more I found myself being pulled within the pages turning each one with anticipation of what was to come next..

Slade is highly respected and admired by those around him. Not only does his presence command respect but there is an inner calmness that surrounds him and his magic that makes other shifters sense his true strength.

Kate is a Priestess without a home and after much heartache and trauma her path has led her to the Redstone's who's Matriarch of the clan accepts her with open arms and soon the rest of the clan follows.

Devastation hits the Redstone Clan as their matriarch is killed and the Lords send Slade to hunt the killer. Slade is disgusted by what has happened and when he reaches the Redstone's and feels the evil he knows he will need the Priestesses help. Kate is surprised at how Slade and her magic works together and is more than eager to help. It will take everyone to keep a level head if they are to stop this evil and come home alive.

I loved Rocky which was book 1 and Slade lived up to his book and then some. I loved how she created a world that was unique and intriguing. Highly recommend and can't wait to red the next.

What could be better than a romance, suspense, and who done it rolled into one? This book is all three! This series is unique in that there are shifters of many types and abilities. Each book is capable of standing alone, but makes sense in the series format as well. Slade is a rare combination of leopard and snowcat, making him a rare and magical creature. Kate is a human priestess who lost her parents when she was very young. She and Slade are fated mates. Their journey to solve a murder and prevent evil from spreading is a joy to read!

Slade and Kate - This book has it all, love, action, magic and mysteries being solved! We met Slade briefly in Rocky as one of the Lord's of all Were's key enforcers. Slade travels to Las Vegas to try to help the Redstone clan after their matriarch is murdered. Kate is the clan's priestess and together they set out to hunt down the killer. Magic seems to be the only way to solve the murder and bring justice to the family. Turns out Slade is more than he first appears and the story takes on a life of its own much to my delight!

I have waited impatiently for each new novel in the Tales of the Were from the very first book, but I could never have envisioned that the series would evolve and grow to where it is now.
Slade’s book sets the foundation for the spin off series the Redstone Clan and the story is nothing less than explosive!
Murder, revenge, mystery and an overwhelming chemistry are all factors in this riveting story.
My love for Bianca D’Arc’s books has just skyrocketed!

This is my favorite story so far in the series. If the author was not uncontrollably sobbing by the end of the book, then I finished it for her. I was interested in Slade from Rockys story and am glad he got to be next. Kate is amazing as a powerful Priestess.
