Split into two arcs. The first arc titled Night’s Jaw is a very slow introduction. I think it was going for building his friend group and contrasting it with the weird amnesiac times he has after infected and creepy nighttime scenes. But that friend group stuff was super boring, the amnesia'd moments were poorly told (possibly a scanlation quality thing), and the nighttime scenes were great but fleeting. Like, the art changes with the super creepy Nightshifted killer was creepy and awesome and very viscerally evocative. But its barely there. The second arc titled Foreign Substance is much the same. The psychological atmosphere of him feeling uncomfortable is hard to feel when we barely see it. I appreciate that some horror can do well when we see little of it. You know, let your imagination run wild. But like… it's too little here. And its fucking zombies which was less overdone when this came out but nowadays feels old. The pacing is also just really slow. It reminds me of how Owari No Seraph's mangaka paces the chapters for a book's beginning and end. It means sometimes there's too little and it's stretched. Every chapter feels stretched. It wants to accomplish like two things and stretches it to fit the page count. It just ends up lethargic and lacking impact.
