When Daniel McGilvary arrived in Chiang Mai in 1867, there was not a single Christian believer. In the 40 years that followed, McGilvary evangelized tirelessly, made disciples, and planted the very first churches in Northern Thailand. How did he do it? In this short biography, missionary and author Karl Dahlfred recounts the amazing ministry of this faithful nineteenth century missionary pioneer.
This is a short and concise biography of a pioneer missionary to Thailand. We read this as a family for devotions while we spent a week in Chiang Mai and it provided inspiration and encouragement, as well as wonderful discussion material with our boys. We learned a lot - about this region of the world, about the growth of the church, and about the inspiring example of a dedicated and faithful follower of Jesus.
Good book and a quick read. If you are looking for detail, this is not the book. But if your are looking for an overview of a great missionary, I would recommend this book.
