The President's Girlfriend #7

Dutch and Gina: What He Did for Love

Rate this book
Dutch Harber resigned his presidency praying for a simple life. He gave until it nearly cost him everything, and he had
no further interest in giving any more. He returned to his beautiful estate in New Jersey with the goal of returning to his
Fortune 500 company and re-launching his private life. He had high hopes of finally giving the love of his life, his
African beauty Gina, the life she deserved.

But just when he thought he had put their traumatized romance back together again, not only the world around him, but
those near and dear to him, begin to fall apart. Allegations of affairs and betrayal, of unrequited love and
miscalculations uproot from Washington and follow him to Jersey. And then, after a terrorist attack leaves the country in
panic and confusion, Washington comes calling too. They all need Dutch. They all refuse to allow Dutch Harber the
peace and quiet he had been dreaming of.

In the latest installment of the President’s Girlfriend series (Book Seven), Dutch and Gina find themselves caught in a
swirl of drama and national crisis that they thought were behind them. And when Gina refuse to endure it again, Dutch
has to put his foot down. But not without a heavy cost.

I've tried to like this book and the one before it, but try as I might, I cannot give it a rave review. It is time this series is put to rest. It has outstayed its welcome.

The nutty Jade just doesn't ring true. Her nuttiness seems contrived... far out of left field just to provide some silly drama. I expect Sam her mother to go off the deep end soon.
And what's with Max re-surfacing again? This reminds me of children's cartoon characters where no one dies; or the eternal Joker to Batman's dark night. Enough already!

The language is just not elegant enough: as an example, the confrontation between Lee and Gina. Gina is supposed to be a lawyer and the First Lady; Lee is supposed to be the CFO of a multi-national corporation. The language of their confrontation reads rather sophomoric.

And no! the young ladies who work in the White House would not comment on Christian's gorgeous blond hair nor his deep blue eyes nor his nice firm body as he passed them in the corridor. Has the author never heard of sexual harassment and the lengths companies go to ensure employees are trained in what is considered sexual harassment? I know this is make believe, but it still has to be grounded in some sort of reality.

I had heard some much about this series and I was afraid to read it just in case I did not like it because I really enjoy this author. However, I loved it and read all the books back to back.

Another great series which I enjoyed very much. I would highly recommend it.

Lala and her man totally did my head in though and I think it takes a special kind of woman to stand by this particular man!!!!

Scandals and schemes everywhere!

Just when Dutch had had enough of the Beltway Fishbowl life and decided to do what was best for his wife and family and resign the presidency and give Gina the life he always wanted for her and Little Walt, he's dragged back into the fishbowl and he drags Gina back into it kicking and screaming. His loyalties to the country caused him to postpone his resignation to calm the uneasy nerves of the nation but the news pundits still want to trash Dutch for his reasons for resigning in the first place.

Another scandal with Crader and he finds out who's the rooster in his hen house and he can't take it. But he realizes that he's brought it on himself. LaLa is fighting hard to do what is best for herself and her daughter, which scares the crap out of Crader. What surprised me is that he was willing to beg LaLa not to leave him. Crader was a mess but he was Loretta's mess.

Finally, Jade gets the help she needs but Max Brennan just won't let sleeping dogs lie. Dutch extracts his revenge on the plotters. Max hasn't realized that revenge is a dish best served cold. He thinks he has the upper hand in disgracing Dutch but Dutch's revenge will be served ever colder to all of the perpetrators responsible for hurting his wife.

He still won't tolerate any disrespect of his wife from anyone. Lenora Perry, the CFO of Harber Industries found that out too. She had her nerves for coming into their home as a guest and talking about something she doesn't know about or understand. Lenora thought she could march right into their home and rekindle her old flames with Dutch. Gina told her right.

As always, Mallory has written a wonderful series. I really love it and highly recommend it.

NOTE: Favorite book quotes. Multiple orgasms weren’t new to Gina. Dutch gave them to her all the time. But this time was different. Because just when Gina was worried that Lenora Perry might just attempt to make a play for Dutch and give her a run for her money, he reminded her that she didn’t have to worry at all. She was his. Point blank period. That was his statement to her tonight. And Lenora and any other designing women out there had better take notice.

“It’s been an honor working for you, sir,” she said. “You give me hope that all men aren’t dogs after all.” Dutch always felt sheepish whenever such praise was heaped on him. He didn’t deserve it, and he often told them so, but they still heaped it anyway. “All men are dogs,” he said only half-jokingly. “Including me. Some just are more astute at hiding their bite.”

This was the worse so far. The sex is repetitive and boring now. I found myself skipping 4-5 pages each time to get past it cause it’s the same old thing. In the first two books it was fine but for someone who has such a strong sexual appetite, Dutch doesn’t change it up much 🤣. The characters aren’t developing any more. Lala is a doormat, cader is a dog and every woman from dutch’s past has slept with him and been in love with him. The only woman in the whole series who has shown integrity throughout is Allison Shearer the press secretary/chief of staff. She’s not once listed after Dutch or previously slept with him and he’s never got a hard on for her cause he has for everyone else even his wife’s best friend breastfeeding 🙄

What can I say about this book?? Dutch is by far the ultimate ALPHA MALE. He is smooth, smart, and sexy AF. I think this book is more about DUTCH. We saw how everyone viewed him as the shoulder to cry on or the ear to listen, that Pillar of strength.

I was glad Gina had to show Jade she wasnt the one to mess with and put her in her place. Jade has serious issues and misplaced affections toward her father. I am just Glad Dutch is not a fool.

Max is still a slimy Bastard. Crader is and will always be a HOT MESS, but you gotta love him. 😂😂

What a great come back for this series. The drama was at a major high, and this cast of characters really drove this story home. Dutch and Gina were stronger and hotter than ever. Yes we know that they have a very deep love from the previous books, but their passion was taken to a whole other level here. Talk about steamy love scenes, theirs took the cake, and there were a whole lot of them. You'll literally be fanning yourself reading these pages. Even Crader and La got in on some of the action. That Crader is such a mess. It'll be interesting to see how things turn out for them. I think they are in dyer need of a full length book. I want to know where Christian is going as well. He needs some closure and to move on. I'm excited to see where this series goes because I know there is more to come.

With Dutch out Gina tried to get back into BBR to only find out that Roman was trying to test her. Jade was trying to weasel her way back in with Dutch thru Chris. Dutch's CFO, Lee is introduced and who would've thunk it? She was black, beautiful and smart. Crader blows a gasket with Chris and then all hell breaks loose. Gina fought tooth and nail not to go back to DC but of course she gave in. Really couldn't understand where she was coming from when she started out there even with all the drama it seemed like it would've been safer for the family anyway. Max completely looses his mind and take things way too far but he had so many chances it was bound to come crashing down. Jade didn't get half of what she deserved but it was better then nothing. LaLa looks like a complete fool but in some ways it's understandable which is sooooo sad. Nice read.
