Yoder was a Christian theologian, ethicist, and Biblical scholar best known for his radical Christian pacifism, his mentoring of future theologians such as Stanley Hauerwas, his loyalty to his Mennonite faith, and his 1972 magnum opus, "The Politics of Jesus".
A reading for Systematic Theology this semester. Like always, Yoder is fascinating and challenging. Questions the monopastoral model of doing church in light of the gospel. Talks a lot about the gifts in Romans 12, Ephesians 4, 1 Corinthians 12-14. Wonders about the effectiveness of "professional" ministry.
