"Fatima in Lucia's own words" II- contains the 5th and 6th memoirs and letters of the last surviving seer of the Fatima apparitions, Sister Lucia dos Santos. The Fifth Memoir is about her father, while the Sixth Memoir is about her mother. The book also contains pictures of her family home, including interior rooms, and pictures of brothers, sisters and parents, and drawings showing the layout of Lucia's home, and the general layout of the property.
Lúcia de Jesus dos Santos, O.C.D. also known as Lúcia of Fátima and by her religious name Sister Maria Lúcia of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart, was a Portuguese Catholic nun and one of the three children to witness the 1917 Marian apparitions in Fátima.
In this book sister Lucia speaks of her mother and father: Their simple happy family life, before the apparitions full of good things the Lord had given them, The turmoil and upset of their life after the apparitions occurred, and the sad parting with her mother and all that Lucia knew at Fatima as the apparitions gained worldwide fame. Through it all, their unfailing faith in God and the acceptance of trials and sufferings along the way as an offering to God.
Lucia plain spoken writing style makes this book so easy go read yet inspiring.
One thing that I will always remember is Lucia saying whenever people asked her mother how many children she had. she would always start with "God gave me seven children...". I think that's the way I should always answer the question as well the rest of my life.
A "must read" book to accompany the first volume. This one tells so much more about her family, and especially expands on her Mother's character from the first one. You really get an idea of how much they suffered on account of the apparitions, which I imagine would probably be missed in a general history of the apparitions. This is an intimate account. Like the first book it has lots of beautiful scripture quotes, poetry, and songs. The description of this family is very inspirational and uplifting.
