I had been waiting for the First Edition of this Book to come to me via mail…..but after reading & hearing tantalising things along the way the anticipation became too much ….so I had to download the 2nd Edition Version via Kindle as well...And let me tell you ….I was not disappointed, both Editions are brilliant reads!

Restraint is an impressive collection of work by PJ Bayliss – he takes you on an unforgettable journey with his passionate words and you transcend into each and every deep, pure, sensual and intimate moment with him, which leaves you panting for s’more!

This Gentleman has great talent - I follow him via Twitter and his Blog and his words are amazing! I am SO looking forward to reading more of his captivating work – Can’t wait for “Chronicle – A Diary of Social Media Maddness” & “A Chemical Romance – A Trilogy of Romance” to come out!

Restraint is a compilation of poems about love, life and growing. As I read, I found myself humming k.d. lang’s song, “Constant Craving.” When I realized I was humming this song it really hit me that each poem has a very strong thread connecting one to the other and that is, YEARNING.

yearn·ing (ˈyərniNG)

a feeling of intense longing for something.
"he felt a yearning for the mountains"
synonyms:
longing, craving, desire, want, wish, hankering, urge, hunger,
thirst, appetite, lust, ache

Every poem within Bayliss’, Restraint, conjures within you one or more of the synonyms associated with the word yearning. As the reader, you are exposed to the fragile and real essence of longing, craving, desire, want, wish, urge, hunger, thirst, appetite, lust and ache of being human in a Mass Society and all that that entails.

I found Restraint to be a striking read that allows you to connect with the beauty of the words and the beauty of being human on a very raw level that we do not get to experience often in our day-to-day very urbanized settings.

Finally...the original, the poems that started it all - in one beautiful paperback book, in my hands. What a joy it is to flip through the pages of the most sensual book of poems I've ever read. Seeing PJ evolve in his writing style & technique in poem after poem is truly amazing. He bares his heart and soul until he creates a masterpiece. A genuine wordsmith who captures the imagination and heart of the reader. I know I'm hooked.

I've won this book by the Goodreads Giveaways and I am very happy to have this book on my shelf so I can re-read some of the poems again and again.

This was my first book of Poetry and I was not sure what to expect.
When I started, I read about the writer. Why and how he wrote this. It made all the Poems really impressive.
He took me to his world and I was really surprised how he made me feel reading his deepest feelings.

I loved it!

Like the first book of poetry of his that I read, some works made me feel a hundred feelings and others nothing. First poet that I have stuck with though, and that alone makes him worthy to read.
