I liked it but it hasn't reached love status. Four books into this series and the editing may be a smidgen better but still has a long way to go -- some simple and easy corrections could make this a far better read. M.J. Fields, if you read this, I volunteer to proofread your next book -- seriously!

Lots of weddings and babies take center stage this time around. Of course, Tessa and Lucas are still spouting jealous and hateful remarks at one another. It amazes me that they've decided to move on, yet they are still in each other's faces at every turn. And now Tessa has found new love (almost insta-love I might add), who is twice the man Lucas is or ever will be, and she's still acting like an immature child who flies off the handle in fits of jealousy. Of course, she then immediately goes into her "I'm sorry" routine. It's more than annoying. However, she does get brownie points when it comes to love and affection for children and family.

For the most part, the three stars above are for Dr. Collin Abraham, who captured this book's storyline. His horrendous background broke my heart and his life's work is admirable. The man has been through hell and back and still finds it in his heart to take on the rants and raves of Tessa, along with her less than savory romantic history.

Moving forward to Book 5 and the end to this torturous journey. Curiosity and the need to know that these characters will all find closure is what drives me on to complete this series.

4 Finally! Stars

Warning....Do NOT. I mean N.O.T. read this until you have read the rest of the series. This is the fourth book and you must read the first three before this one. Seriously. Do not make me give you a teacher look 'cause I will.

Finally....After 4 books of Tessa and Lucas and the train wreck they created...a happy ending. A great happy ending. Oh, they try to make it a train wreck. Tessa tries so hard sometimes to make it fall apart. But thank GAWD...someone else has more maturity and gets through to her. Cause there are many times I want to slap her. In the knee caps. With a frying pan.

Tessa has been through the ringer. She has put up with Lucas' crap for 5 years. She loves him but she knows she can not trust him with her heart or her the rest of her life.

Collin has had a terrible childhood but has pulled himself together. He does not need have time for anyone's crap. He knows what he wants in life and its fast meaningless sex and a great career. But when he sees Tessa again (you get to figure out where he has seen her before), he begins to rethink his choices. Tessa has a great family that he has always wanted. A great personality that he has always wanted. Super sexy dirty talk that he has always wanted. And maybe that happily every after he didn't even know he wanted.

How am I ever going to decide where to lick you first? His breath hit her back and she bit her lip.

But HEAs are hard to come by in Ms Fields world. Someone is always waiting to screw up. Lucas wants Tessa back is not afraid to cause a stink to get her. Will Tessa fall back into her old habits or break into new happier habits?

This is a great culmination to the Love Series. It still needs some serious editing. There are lots of typos. Please fix those Ms Fields. But get past them to read this. The story is good. You get the next part of everyone's lives. All the siblings, friends, and frienemies. Tessa finally makes the right choice for her. I won't tell you want that is. But even now...after finishing the book I am still afraid she is going to mess it up. I needed this to be over 'cause I have enough people to worry about with adding Tessa to the list.

I loved Collin, he was the hero in a totally messed up story. He was like a rainbow after the storm. I just loved him. Lucas was an asshole again. He did find his ending but it just felt off. He will always love her and would leave his wife in heartbeat if Tessa wanted him. I think that was proven on his wedding day. Anyway, there are two more books after this. Love you Anyways and Love Notes. I just can't get past what Lucas did over and over again. There was no reason for him to cheat on her at all. I mean it was so stupid. The hotel cheat where she shows up in the last book, unbelievable! He wasn't drunk or anything, it was for nothing, they were doing well and engaged!!! She loved him soul deep. He just disgusts me. I guess the next book, being 20 years later is supposed to be enough time for him to change. I just wish Tessa would have smartened up earlier and found Collin before now. But I'm happy she got someone who worshiped her and loved her unconditionally. Oh and I knew Jesse was a snake. What a bitch. Anyway, this is the first book in the series that gave me hope. It was all Collin.

4.5 star Review True Love (Love #4) by M.J. Fields

True Love is the fourth and final book in this highly emotional roller coaster of a series and there may be triggers for some so please take note before you start this book.

Tessa has had enough and determined to leave the angst and drama behind, she goes to her family home on Cape Cod to escape and give herself time to think and decide what she truly wants out of life.

True Love is an emotional roller coaster of a read and mine were all over the place as I was reading. Just when I thought I knew where this story was heading, Ms.Fields threw in some curve balls and I was left wondering what I had read.

Tessa needs to move on and knows that Lucas needs to be her past. Can she finally find happiness with Collin? Will Lucas accept that it is finally over? Can Tessa and Lucas finally find their elusive happiness and if so who will it be with?

This was a fitting conclusion to the series and one that had me smiling as well as in tears on occasion.

5 STARS!

Best. Book. In. The. Entire. Series.

This author has wrote an amazing series and while some are either going to LOVE or HATE this book depending on how you feel about Lucas, I loved it and thought it was perfect. Tessa deserved the world and I am glad she is with someone who can give it to her finally.

After all of the heartache, struggles, ups, downs, and everything else, Tessa can't take everything that is with Lucas and leaves to go Cape Cod. And while there, she is trying to move on with her life with no Lucas but life has a funny way of showing us exactly what we need and Tessa finds that is her neighbor Colin. What starts out as a friendship blossoms into love.

I loved this book. I loved Colin and thought he was PERFECT for Tessa. I was happy to see Tessa move on with her life and finally get her HEA.

I absolutely loved this series! Which is why I gave it 4 stars.
Here is what I didn’t like...

1. The back and forth between Tessa and Lucas. She gave that boy too many chances. He was an ass.

2. Each book in the series was not really long. But they had way too much going on in them. You could have easily taken one book and made two out of it.

3. I love dual point of views. But there was NO warning in switching in these books. One paragraph was Tessa and then the next would be Lucas, the paragraph after that would be Jade.

4. A TON of grammar and spelling mistakes! Each book says it was edited!?! I mean really? That is some crappy editing. I’m sorry that’s blunt. But come on. The mistakes are pretty bad.

I actually made the mistake of reading 27 truths and 27 lies before reading this series. So I kinda know what’s going to happen at some point in these series.

Other than that this series is amazing and has such great potential.

4.5 star review for the last book in this series.

Extremely emotional.

Tessa Ross has decided that she needs time to reflect on her life .

The love / hate relationship she has with Lucas is destroying her , life cannot be lived like that.

Tessa moves to her family home where perhaps her life can change without angst!

Can Tessa find a love that is true with Colin ?

Lucas ? Can he be Tessa’s past ?

Who wouldn't fall in love with Colin Abraham. What a beautiful man inside and out. Tessa is her usual immature pain in the ass self but must give her credit for her devotion to her family and for being smart enough to capture Colin. The relationship between her and Lucas seems to get a wee bit better once he finds his own mate but the conversations between them are so juvenile, I just shake my head.

Great read full of hope! As fate would have it, Tessa returns to Cape Cod to find peace and her inner self. This story evolves to a logical end full of hope, love and family. I totally enjoyed reading this book, especially this last one!

Just imagine if the roles were reversed and it was the guy being friendly with his ex of 5 years, caring about her, hugging her, comforting and being worried she was doing well, talking about her and how she liked his body, getting her pregnant - we would tear him apart as toxic and non deserving of the FMC who is nothing but perfect and dedicated.

But somehow our dear Tessa is made out to be this angel sent down to earth who can do nothing but love and care for anyone in her life including the guy who constantly cheated on her, peed on her, treated her like trash, did not want her to have a career, threw baby loss at her and made fun of her body, brought a woman in to their "home" the moment she left, literally started dating the woman that he told her not to worry about.

I just wanted to hurl the book out. Lucas and Tessa deserve each other. Boat load of toxic people

I wish Collin had gotten rid of Tessa and found someone who had place only for him in her heart, after the up bringing he has had - he deserved to be first in all things including someone affections.

This just screams never to date ppl who still friends with their exes or best friends of opposite gender.

Hitting almost the 80 % mark and Colin is literally talking about world building and how dangerous and different the outside world is, meanwhile our drama lama Tessa is like but I don’t know what you are doing inside the building like having sex with someone else and makes it all about her. I would smack her if I was there.

Omg

Mj, ugh okay so this is the fourth book so make sure you go in order. 1 will crack you up 2 will break your heart 3 will break your soul but 4 , 4 will put you back together not in any way shape or form you thought was even likely but still with the most beautiful and breath taken shades and shapes of your soul. I read and re read all of music work but hands down Lucas owns my soul don't get me wrong I want to beat that ass every other chapter in all 4 books but the soul wants what it wants don't get me wrong everyone get their hoa but I will for ever be a links fan.

I was so shocked with what happened in this book.
Thank goodness it isn't the last one.
I hope the Author reads reviews as most reviews I've read say the same about the editing. The Editor needs to know the difference between to and too. And were and where. Sometimes it's hard to make sense of a sentence.. I rarely leave reviews or read a series but so glad I did as I've read 4 books that are 5 stars for me and the 5th seems as good.

Collin is far superior to Lucas! I was so happy Tessa met a good guy! But to be honest her immaturity,
Lack of respect towards Collin, and unending obsession with Lucas made me realise she didn't deserve him! Collin was great, but deserves better, especially as he seems to be stop gap, shown by his death in the next book!

True Love is the Absolute Best title for this book. Tessa Ross has been through a lot in her life but when she meets Collin Abraham she never thought she could love or be loved the way he makes her feel.
I loved this series when it was first written but rereading this new version makes me love it even more and falling for Tessa & Collin’s love story definitely leaves a smile on your face.

So two thoughts.
1 - The writing does not get any better as the books go on. The dialogue is clunky at best, people in natural conversations don't keep saying the other person's name. People don't sign their text messages. This author is like the Tommy Wiseau of books. And blah blah horrible grammar.

2 - WTF is up with all the white hats? Is that a thing?

Hmmm....

This story is not as fun without all the drama, but I know it will be back. The author’s writing is very lazy and there is a lot of telling. I have gotten use to the writing for the most part, but she needs an editor.

Each book in this series MUST be read in order.

Tessa and Lucas will take you on an emotional roller coaster through this series, but I promise you, it's worth it in the end.

This was a great series by MJ, and I look forward to more from her.

This book is a little better than the others is this series. The reason I give 5 stars is that I have been there done that in my first relationship. M.J. Fields did a good job of making this realistic for me. Tessa had never been in a relationship, watched her parents breaking apart and was not sure how to navigate a relationship. When Lucas cheats on her one more time she decides she has had enough and realizes she deserves better. She leaves to clear her head and figure where to go from there. When she meets Collin it is fate they have met in passing many times through history. Collin does not know about navigating a relationship either. So what happens is a lot of I'm sorry, jealousy, insecurities and tears. They both need to learn to communicate, listen to each other and not become defensive and work together. Lucas just does not get that he needs to grow up and realize he has lost Tessa because of his disgusting actions. Yes there are many annoying things about this book but I related to it. To me there were many things that were repeated many times in this book, which I think the editors need to address. The thing that makes me laugh is how Collin and Lucas think they own Tessa and need to control what she does. I have a friend in the same situation. The best part of this series is the love of family and friends. This book is not for everyone it can be very annoying and long winded. I was entertained that is the reason for the 5 stars.

So I know what I wrote about Lucas in the last review but um.. it was kinda weird in the beginning with Collin, but then again come competition never hurt a man. I mean I kinda sorta liked Collin but then again I didn't, "well who the hell else would you a**? I'm so pi**ed at you your lucky I didn't crack you in the head. Collin you're an a**hole, you walk into my house, break into my bathroom while I'm taking a bath, talk to me like I am some pig, and try to intimidate me. You scared me!" And nothing like a little jealousy from Lukey-boy, "so is she banging him now?" Lucas asked pi**ed off." And even though Tess and Lucas still have a lot going on the boy is protective, "he effing killed someone, Tessa. I won't leave you alone with someone like that," Lucas yelled." One I didn't like how this book worked out I kinda want MJ to re-write it. I mean it took me by surprise and this book was originally the first book in the series so if it had been then I would have liked what happened but since it's not I hated what happened.

To be up front, I did not read books 1-3 of the series. I jumped right in to bk 4 and after reading it, I can consider bk 4 to be a standalone. I was fortunate to have a friend who explained to me some blindspots, though.

What can I say? Tessa found her HEA...thankfully with the right man! They fall into insta lust and insta love. But it's somewhat believable because you see, they've crossed paths before, unknowingly, over years, at critical times in their lives.

Now, even though I enjoyed this story, I have to say the editing frustrated the heck out of me. Not only are there numerous grammar issues, there were the misuse of words. It was like autocorrect went crazy.

First off I love the characters in the series, they were flawed and selfish, but they loved and tried and it was full of emotions and angst between the characters. So i basically invested my time falling in love with the characters of lucas and tessa in the first three books and comes the fourth book and it just went 180 and had tessa ending up with collin. So I find the series pointless and dragging as a whole when 3/4 of the series are totally made of two characters that don't even end up together and I feel like the author started writing her books and decided last minute to change the flow of the story.
