Meeting Jake and not falling under the spell of his blue eyed charm is a struggle, especially after they share an emotional experience in the midst of the Alaskan forest. The fact that Jake is involved with someone else makes it impossible to follow her heart, however tempting it might be.
She perseveres, Jake's early departure putting an end to what could have been.
Meeting him again, this time in Seattle, isn't something she had expected to happen. This time he is free and determined to break through the wall of indifference she has built around her heart.
Will he still want to be around when he finds out her plans for the future? And even more importantly, will he want to be a part of her life that suddenly involves a child she plans to adopt?
The only way to find out is to take the next step, hoping for his hand to hold hers on this new, exciting journey...

This was a good book, it was. It just wasn't what it COULD HAVE been. That is the only reason it got 3 stars. We didn't get very much Jake & Louise action at all, only on like 2 instances; first kiss & Jake proposing. I was a little disappointing there wasn't any sex in here, as we all expected from the kiss. Because, come on, in they were in either one of their houses, he would've carried her to the bed & she would've let him. They also hinted that 6 MONTHS LATER they still hadn't, which was weird, again, from they way they both reacted & felt from that first kiss. Recommended, especially if you like clean romance between 2 adults whose priors had both cheated on them. However predictable it was-which was evident in every "twist" and "plot change"-it was still a good story.
