Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound.
She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.

3 ALMOST THE SAME STARS

In this book there are two strangers meeting at a party and having unprotected sex!
Now, the hero being a guy with a wicked reputation with women, you would think he would have used a condoms!?
And what about her.
She was no innocent, she should have known better!
So you know what happened next?

IF YOU GUESSED PREGNANCY, YOU WIN!

YES, THIS IS THE PREGNANT BY THE ONE NIGHT STAND PLOT.
Hello, my old friend I have so missed you. It's been too long.

description

Anyways, after their encounter the hero, Patrick just goes about his business like nothing has happened. She was just another woman he had banging hot sex with. After all, he was a player so makes perfect sense.
However, this soon changes as he discovers her true identity and the fact that she is now pregnant.
He tells her:
"You’re mine, Jennifer. My woman, the mother of my child, and I’m never letting you go.”
Too bad this statement is made after he found out she was pregnant!
This statement might have actually ment something before.
So the hero goes about trying to convince her he has changed and that they must marry.
(We all know the routine!)

description

The heroine Jennifer is your standard Sam Crescent BBW. With body issues and food issues and OH MY FREAKING GOD, AM I SO TIRED OF THIS CRAP!
But at least she is not a virgin but it's a close one here folks.
Get this she only had one lover!
OH WOW!
Meanwhile, the hero had one a day during his peek season.
Seems equal to you here!?

description

Anyways, the story was filled with a few twist and turns that I did not see coming especially not from this author. Therefore, I give this story a fully respectable 3 stars. I felt the story had just enough drama to keep you invested in it and the characters did grow on me.
And their pain was palpable and real.
I cried and cried near the end.

In general, I enjoyed the book but I would not reread it.
Good for a read and I would partially recommend it.
However, it does touch a hard subject.
Click the spoiler for a possible trigger!
I did feel that this subject was well handled by the author and but please be aware it was extremely emotional.

Safety is good with no cheating, some pushing away from the heroine and some drama. Also, hero has always used condoms in the past.

So, another book by Sam Crescent. I enjoyed this book, but I know where the story leads, the conflicts, the build up romance and the likes. It's quite predictable and I've got not surprises anymore because most of her books seems like have the same pattern. It's not like I didn't enjoyed it but I need the thrill.

I gave this a 2 stars because it's a billionaire romance and Sam always have a good writing styles when it comes to this genre.

Yeah, this book is pretty is ordinary nothing fancy.

I am on the fence with this one.I felt that the hero ,Patrick ,needed to grovel more after that meltdown he had with Jennifer ,the heroine. She took him back way to easily.
Three stars only because I enjoyed the epilogue.

Didn't get the insta-attraction and without that the story didn't work for me. The hero seemed immature and that never works for me, so this one was a "miss".
Hoping for a "hit" next time =)

As always Sam Crescent delivers a great book with a alpha hero hard not to love. While attending a party her family expects her to attend Jennifer steps away to be alone for a few minutes and that's when she meets Patrick. Patrick is instantly attracted to Jennifer so he makes quick work of getting her to spend time with him. Jennifer knows immediately who Patrick is she also knows he rich, he's a playboy, and he's gorgeous, but Patrick seems different and while they talk Jennifer decides to give into his charms. A few weeks later it's becoming clear Jennifer is pregnant and she knows not only will her parents be furious but that this baby will be her responsibility. Patrick has looked for Jennifer and with only her first name has had no luck finding her till he see's her in the newspaper after an incident where she got sick in a restaurant. And because of this and being in the heat of the moment and not using protection he is sure this is a sign she's pregnant with his baby. Now with her last name he is able to find Jennifer and immediately goes and finds her. When he see's her his feelings are just as hot as when her first saw her and he talks Jennifer into getting to know each other better. Jennifer agree's to Patrick's suggestion of getting to know each other and then deciding what to do from there, the more time they spend with each other the closer they become. Till Patrick starts to pull away. Then the unthinkable happens. And Patrick will have to decide what he really wants and if he is willing to do what he needs to to get what he wants back. In all of Sam Crescent's books I know I will have an alpha hero, passion, conflict, and a great story and this story was just that. The beginning felt a little rushed and I wished we had gotten more but overall this was a great Sam Crescent novella, Just what I've come to expect from Mrs. Crescent.

Jennifer and Patrick. Jennifer is used to people putting her down. She grew up around wealthy self centered jerks who like to bully quiet, shy, curvy girls like her. Imagine her surprise when she meets Patrick, the wealthy popular playboy at his parent's dinner party and they hit it off. In fact, he gets her pregnant. She runs off and he doesn't catch her name first. So the plot starts out pretty far-fetched, but it actually gets more gritty and interesting after the initial cheesiness. Patrick tracks her down and wants to make a go of it, but after a while he starts getting cold feet and treating Jennifer like doggy do-do. Things spiral downwards from there and Patrick isn't sure he can ever get Jennifer back... The story was by far the darkest thing I've read by this author, and so if you just want fluff, you should steer clear of this one.

I thought the book needed just a little more to it to make it a worth while read.
Too many scenes were thrown in without a setup, behaviors seemed to change on and off. Good fall in love theme, but didn't have the meat to make me believe in the HEA.

H did a bad betrayal and the h apologized twice!!!!!!!!!!! I lost it about then. I don't mind if the h apologize for a legit reason, but this dude did it all and she didn't do a thing wrong. For what the betrayal was, there was no groveling done by the H other than ILY and I'm sorry.

I also didn't like the fact she was 28, I believe, and still couldn't tell her parents to take a hike. When she found out about the 'situation' she worried what her parents were going to do. Never that she would stand up for herself, but what they would make her do.

I hate when the h apologizes for something she didn't do and this one did it twice! I like SC, and I have read most of her books, but this one fell short of the mark imo.

One of the things I love about a Sam Crescent book is you always know what to expect, you get an attractive rich alpha male and a curvy, innocent or shy girl, it's just about the same every time and it works.
Jennifer is the curvy girl this time, trying to escape the party she doesn't want to be at she wanders into the house library where she meets Patrick and they click, she knows who he is, a rich playboy who has a different woman every night, well that's if the papers can be believed. He knows she's called Jennifer, that's it, well that's not all he knows she's different, totally different from the women he usually dates.
She leaves him with just her name but he leaves her pregnant, can these two make it work for the sake of the baby or will their families and their lives get in the way.
As always I enjoyed this read but, yes there's always a but, the characters didn't seem consistent the three main characters seemed to have a personality change mid way through this book and while I do like a man to have feelings I also like a strong alpha male and I wasn't always happy with Patrick.
This said it still an enjoyable read but in my opinion it's not one of her best.

I can't quite believe I'm giving one of my favourite authors three stars, well actually it's more like two and a half stars. Jennifer is the usual curvy heroine and Patrick the handsome alpha playboy hero. After these two connect at a party at Patrick's house he doesn't know anything about her other than her christian name, he's keen to find her. Unfortunately the upshot of their one time together results in Jennifer becoming pregnant. I thought I knew how the rest of the story would play out. To my utter disappointment Patrick midway through seemed to undergo a complete personality transplant becoming a right idiot, that all seemed to come out of nowhere with no rhyme or reason for it. After that the rest of the story was all over the place and I felt like I was reading about two different people. Overall this has to be my least favourite offering from this author.

They met only once but millionaire Patrick Thompson couldn't get the beautiful woman known as Jennifer out of his mind. When he sees her splashed across the front page though after an unfortunate incident he knows two things. One she is pregnant and two she is meant to be his.

Jennifer Dixon knows all about the playboy's reputation and while he seems interested in the baby it does not make for marriage. Patrick is out to prove he is completely serious about his intentions with Jennifer but he makes a few mistakes along the way.

I liked this a lot until about 3/4 way in and then i was thrown for a complete loop. Went from loving Patrick to wanting to pull him out of the book and smack him around. I didn't get him at all.

What the hell was I thinking??!

I hated the hero. The heroine's best friend wasn't that much better manipulating her the way she did. And the heroine apologizing to the hero for his fuck-ups (because, there wasn't just one) made me hate this book.

SC obviously isn't for me.

It was a short read. I didn't get enough time to connect with the characters. I thought it was hurried and there was a lot of missed potential.

The couple: Patrick and Jennifer

Romance trope: unexpected baby
Length: 108 pages

Plot: Jennifer meets Patrick at a party, and they - really - hit it off. She knows who he is, but he doesn't know her. She goes home after their encounter, and a few weeks later realizes she's pregnant. Patrick sees a picture of her in the paper and realizes it too, and now he knows who she is. He finds her and convinces her to give a relationship a chance. It won't be smooth sailing though; they barely know each other and have barriers up to protect themselves.

Commentary: There's a lot going on in this one! While typically this author's heroes mess up (and bad!), they don't really grovel per se. They do own up to what they did wrong and say something like "I know I messed up. I love you. I'm not going away until you love me again." So the grovel is more of a refusal to give up, which in some cases can be charming. However, some of her heroes also have a tendency to go a bit too far for redemption (Smokey, anyone?). In this case,
One last thing though. At one point, Jennifer says this:
“We could have worked around everything. You didn’t have to be an insensitive jerk, and I could have taken things slower. I was excited about our future together, and I wanted everything to be perfect.”

Why do heroines insist on taking the blame when it's not their fault? He was willing to take the blame - she didn't need to compromise, especially since what she said wasn't even accurate. She was appeasing him and it wasn't needed. Take things slower? He was the one that was like "we met once now you're pregnant let's get married and move into together and buy all the baby stuff!!!" She was doing what he wanted AND nesting, which is a legitimate thing that pregnant women do. It just irks me to no end when a heroine takes the blame or partial blame for something the hero did. That's not compromise -that's teaching him how to act and what he can get away with in the future.

Ughhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
at the beginning of the book, I was a little skeptical but then I started to get into it .. and one thing led to another, I was hooked!!
but then like half way through the book all the characters and I mean ALL! started to half a split personality!!! I swear ..
one minute:
-I'm Happy
-Me too

and The next page:
-I don't want this, I'm trapped ...
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was so frustrated.. I just wanted the story to end!!

3.5 stars. This book had a very interesting story. Patrick and Jennifer had good chemistry, but then it was more turmoil after the incident. Even though the book was not much of my liking, I am still am a fan of Sam Crescent, keep them coming.

A good book,
This was a typical Sam Crescent read for me. I liked it, although this author always tells, she does not show, that's her style. I thought the book was one of the better written books in this style, certainly i appreciated the length of the book, and it was a good quick read.

Story was just cheesy and corny plus predictable. No chemistry between the main characters whatsoever which lead to some boring sex scenes.

Jennifer and Patrick were a very unique couple . He fit in the uppity high society that they both come from , where as she feels like an outsider not only with her family but her social circle. The only person she can be herself with is her best friend. When Jennifer finds out she is pregnant she's happy and sad but things start getting forced on her by her family and by Patrick. Unfortunately it takes tragedy to strike for Patrick to wake up to himself and for he and Jennifer to have there HEA.

- 1 000 of stars =/ What a HELL !!!!!??? The guy leaves after arguing with the woman, she loses the baby, he shows up kissing another woman the same night in a newspaper photo and nobody says anything about it !!!!!???? And she still apologizes to him for leaving ????? This is DISGUSTING, I can not believe I wasted my time reading this. I tired of this author, I got tired of this MISOGYBY! I got tired of those books that degrade the female figure, with weak characters and stupid men. It's over for me!!!!

Jennifer doesn’t ever do anything her parents wants her to. She doesn’t hang around the people they want her to. She is a woman that has curves and her parents wants her to lose weight. She just wants to live her life the way she wants and spent time with her best friend. She goes to Patrick Thompson’s house to a party and just wants the get away. All that changes when Patrick and Jennifer see’s each other. Sparks fly and it becomes a night of passion in the garden.

I loved this story and thought that everything was going good. I just knew this couple was meant to be. That is until Patrick becomes a butthole and something drastic happens. I seen myself start to tear up. I was really feeling the emotions then. I was mad at Patrick and couldn’t see myself getting over that any time soon. As the story went I seen my opinion change. That is what happens when a man starts growing up. I couldn’t wait to see what the ending of the book would be like. I wanted the book to just keep on going because it just seemed so real to me.

To say I got caught up in this book is an understatement. I could just see this happening in real life and I feel so in love with the characters and the storyline. I just didn’t like their parents all that much. This story just shows you what happens when your parents try to run your life and won’t let you do what you think is best. It’s hard to have a relationship with someone you really don’t know. You need time to let the feelings grow and to become stronger. I am going to have to find another book to read to come down from the feeling I have right now.

This is one story that I would recommend. Only read it if you love stories that can really happen in real life. Nothing is ever a bed of roses all the time.

Great concept, but not executed as best as it could have been. It's a short story so I'm not surprised that they fell in love quickly. The book could have been a lot better if it was a full length novel as some scenes could have been easily extended. I felt a little detached from the characters which could easily be fixed, again, if the novel was longer. I also felt like the characters were 2 different people. Linda is one example. She despised Patrick after the hospital incident (and rightly so), but was accepting of him when she and Jennifer vacation at her parents' beach house. I understand why Linda would play a role in brining him back, but I felt like she would've been more begrudging towards him.

Honestly, the story isn't horrible, but it could use a little improvement in order to bring out the full potential the story has.
