DYING DAYS: THE SIEGE OF EUROPEAN VILLAGE is a really cool experiment within author Armand Rosamilia's Dying Days world. First, for the first time Rosamilia co-writes with fellow writer, Tim Baker. Baker typically writes crime/detective fiction and brings that attitude to the characters in this story. Also, this story takes place in a very real shopping village that both writers frequent in their real lives. Those two elements combined with mixing both authors characters into the story creates are fun story that stays true to the franchise.
On the outset it is easy to pick out both writers parts. However, as the story continues to develop they trade off writing each others characters and the lines begin to blue. By the end of the story its nearly impossible to figure out which writer wrote what. Its fun not only to read a wonderful story come together so nicely but also to watch two writers write themselves into sync with one another seamlessly.
There is also a neat little interview the writers conduct with one another at the end. It gives a nice little insight into the writing process they took to create this gem. Don't skip it, it is fun to read two wise asses share a moment.
If you're a fan of Dying Days, you need to read this one. If you're a fan of Armand Rosamilia,a read this one. If you're a fan of Tim Baker, read this one. If you're a fan of all three your basically going to jizz yourself so get some tissues. And a banana bread beer.
Definitely one of the best of the Dying Days series. Literally couldn't put it down and I was an emotional wreck when I was finished. That a sign of a great book.
