The Temple of Kian is the 3rd and final book of the first trilogy of the Key of Creation Epic Fantasy series, which began with Rise of the Destroyer, and Journey to Khodara (available now!)
A.R. Voss (1970- ) Has been writing fiction since the young age of 8; his debut publication is the first book of "The Key of Creation" series, "Rise of the Destroyer." He graduated California State University, Fullerton with a Theatre degree, majored in Directing and is currently working on numerous projects including the remaining books of "The Key of Creation" series.
I'm happy to say the book is complete, and although I may be biased to rate it a five star, I truly believe this book to be a great conclusion to the first trilogy, 'The Key of Creation.'
The Temple of Kian is the third book in The Key of Creation series. I received a copy from the authors for an honest review.
The first book was a good read. The second book fell short and bored me. The third book was somewhere in between. I'm not sure how I'm going to write the review, but I think a Pros and Cons list may be the best way.
Cons:
The authors kept "telling" when it came to the large group of traveler's except when a bit of action was happening. It bored me and I really didn't care to continue on with their journey. I also didn't care for the character Dathan. I wanted someone to shove a sword down his windpipe. He kept using "bloody". Now, I understand the usage of that word as profanity, however, I wish he had more profane words in his arsenal.
For instance: "It's bloody freezing on top of this bloody mountain. Why can't we just bloody leave and get a bloody blanket? I'm bloody cold, bloody hungry, and I need a bloody bath."
No, that wasn't a direct quote, but you get the picture? He sounded like a prepubescent who just learned the word "damn" could be used as profanity. I didn't like him and he made the group's journey even more unbearable.
Pros:
The authors did a good job at presenting more conflict. Shit was going down in Akkadia. There were also issues going on with the group. All of these were interesting. Add in the main bad guy and the epilogue, something interesting is brewing.
I believe the authors intend on revisiting the world and that wouldn't be too bad. However, I don't know if I could handle Dathan or the "telling" whenever a journey is afoot.
Definitely my favorite one of the three. The storytelling was amazing, I could imagine every scene and every step vividly. Full of action and excitement ,loved it and didn't want it to end :)
WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN, THE FIRST 3 BOOKS FROM THE "KEY OF CREATION" SERIES. I FIRST BROUGHT BOOK 1 "RISE OF THE DESTROYER". THEN THE AUTHOR A.R.VOSS GOT IN TOUCH WITH ME AND SENT ME THE FILES FOR THE FIRST 3 BOOKS. THIS WAS THE 3RD BOOK. THIS BOOK PULLS YOU RIGHT INTO THE STORY. THE IMAGERY IS BEYOND GREAT. AS I WAS READING THESE 3 BOOKS I WAS THERE, RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS STORY. THE PLOT IS JUST MIND-BOGGLING AND INTERESTING. i ADORE THESE BOOKS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT U GO PICK UP AND READ THESE AMAZING, WELL WRITTEN BOOKS. YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY. I CAN NOT WAIT FOR REST OF THESE BOOKS COME OUT. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT IS NEXT IN THE TWISTED STORY LINE, I REALLY NEED TO KNOW!!! HAPPY READING ANGEL
I have received this book from the author for an honest review, thanks! I did like this series, of which this is the third part, quite a lot. This the third part is in my opinion a bit weaker than the two previous ones. The story so far has been interesting and I particularly liked the character of Aelianna. But the story seems rushed. There happen so many things now at once and in a short span of time. It's hard for me to explain, but I feel as if I don't have enough time to revel in one situation and one huge revelation, that shoots the story ahead, but instead i'm plunged right into the next big turning point way too soon. Many questions are unanswered and there is a huge potential in this story for the future.
What a fantastic conclusion to this trilogy! I can't wait to read more from this author. The characters were just as beautifully written in this book as the other two. I cannot compliment the plot enough; this was a fantastic book! :)
I received the e-book from the author for an honest review.
I really liked this third book. The story became much more interesting. There were action, mysterious occurrences and characters, enough to impress me. Good book!
