Ophelia Brooks and Adam Abrams are both journalists, but that’s where their similarities seemingly end.

Ophelia writes for a fashion magazine; Adam writes for an outdoors magazine. She loves beautiful gowns and haute couture; he likes puffy coats and Vibram-soled shoes. She’s bubbly and outgoing; he’s broody and composed.

Adam and Ophelia’s paths collide during a disastrous set-up, that leaves behind a ruined Dior dress and two bruised egos. Ophelia swears she never wants to lay eyes on Adam again, but fate has other plans when their publishing company faces mass layoffs.

With her life hanging in the balance, Ophelia reluctantly relies on Adam to save her career. She joins him on a week-long work trip in Europe complete with picturesque scenery and adrenaline-rich interviews. Throughout their journey, the two of them find they have more in common than they ever imagined, but every trip must come to an end eventually.

Ticket to You is a mild spice, fade-to-black rom-com.

Release date: July 23rd 2023

My thoughts:
⤷ I finished this book in a little over 24hrs bc it was THAT good, I couldn’t put it down. I ADORE romcoms and this book gave me all the classic romcom feels: I was constantly kicking my feet while squealing and giggling like a little kid and I loved every single second of it<3

What I liked
➵ All. Of. It. I especially loved their banter, the beginning of their travels when they were getting to know eachother and when Ophelia met Adam’s family🥹

What I didn’t like
➵ The fact that this book isn’t 9282526272738 pages long because I want NEED to read more about Ophelia and Adam

The main characters
⤷ I am obsessed with both Ophelia and Adam, they seem to bring out the best in eachother - I want what they have🥹 Also Gemma and Adam’s siblings >>>>>>>

Read this if you like/tropes in the book
➵ enemies to lovers
➵ forced proximity
➵ one bed
➵ dual pov
➵ slow burn
➵ he falls first & harder

Sypnosis

Ophelia Brooks and Adam Abrams are both journalists, but that’s where their similarities seemingly end.

Ophelia writes for a fashion magazine; Adam writes for an outdoors magazine. She loves beautiful gowns and haute couture; he likes puffy coats and Vibram-soled shoes. She’s bubbly and outgoing; he’s broody and composed.

Adam and Ophelia’s paths collide during a disastrous set-up, that leaves behind a ruined Dior dress, two bruised egos, and an unlikely pair on the verge of becoming enemies.

Quotes (SPOILERS!!)

I can tell myself that Ophelia has no effect on me, but I’m undeniably drawn to her, despite how unsettled that makes me and despite what I told Gemma. If she truly is smarter than she is beautiful, like Gemma claims, she must be Marie Curie-level smart.

➵ Adam straightens and his body leans toward mine slightly, as if he’s being drawn by a magnet.

➵ I stay a few steps ahead of Adam so I won’t have to look at him. Despite myself, his intense gaze has a habit of making my cheeks flush.

➵ I roam around aimlessly, looking for anything else to have her try on so I can prolong our time together. I really should focus on my own prep work, but she’s so unique, I’m itching to see what makes her tick.

➵ She pulls the harness up until it hangs loosely above her hips. Then, I get down on one knee in front of her to adjust the fit. “Abrams, I’m flattered, but this all is happening way too soon. We should at least go on a date before you propose.”

➵ She grins playfully. It’s a gorgeous sight.

➵ When we get into the bedroom of our suite, we throw our bags onto the bed at the same moment. My eyes flash to Ophelia and I see the situation click for her right as it’s clicking for me. One bed.

➵ “You drive me crazy. Wholly, wonderfully crazy. And I can’t get enough of it.” I knot my fingers with his. “The feeling is mutual.”

➵ “I’m yours, Ophelia. I think I’ve been yours since the moment we met.”

➵ I don’t think I’ve ever seen her smile so much, and it’s the most beautiful sight. When she smiles, her entire face comes alive. The curve of her lips is like a work of art, begging to be studied and appreciated. Ophelia is the embodiment of sunshine.

So happy to have received an ARC from NetGalley for my honest review.

I have a lot of mixed feelings about this book. It was fast paced and the characters were really likable. However, I was kind of disappointed how it was marketed as an enemies to lovers since they stayed enemies for not even half the book. The banter was still good and I liked the ”will they, won’t they”-feeling throughout the book.

Both of them showing interest in each others worlds is so cute and this book was just really fluffy overall. I didn’t quite root for them in the beginning, but halfway through I was hooked.

I would recommend this book to readers who like fluffy romantic comedies that are fast paced. If you like the tropes such as enemies to lovers, one bed trope, and work place romance then this is a book for you!

Thanks once again to NetGalley and author Florence Fields for sending me this ARC.

Pub Date: 23 July 2023

🇸🇪Svenska:

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book after not reading a rom-com in a hot minute, but I'm happy to say I LOVED it! Official rating will be 4.5 stars.

It was a great enemies-to-lovers, workplace romance. Ophelia, a fashion journalist and Adam, an outdoors journalist, have officially made my heart melt. This book centres around these two taking a work trip to Europe together. The descriptions of the locations were intricate and I loved all of the interviews they did with both fashion icons and adventurists.

I tend to find rom-coms all similar to one another in a way but I happily found this one to stand out for me. With the enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity and one-bed trope, it had all I needed. I think both characters had great depth behind them, which is sometimes lacking in this genre.

The only reason I rated this book less than 5 stars was because I did find a small amount of spelling and grammatical errors.

I would recommend this book to lovers of The Spanish Love Deception, The Hating Game and anything by Emily Henry.

Very excited after reading this ARC to get my hands on a physical copy one day!

this book is the embodiment of a cliché-filled 2000s romcom. it’s funny, it’s swoon-worthy, and it’s fast-paced!! it’s the perfect book for a quick romantic getaway. it’s the type of book that will get you out of a reading slump. even better yet, it’s the type of book you can read in one sitting!!

ticket to you was a fun and joyful read. the plot was simple yet intriguing and it kept me turning every page with excitement. the writing was straightforward but descriptive, although i did notice a few typos and grammatical errors but that’s okay. the characters were all interesting in their own unique ways and i really adore adam’s family and how welcoming they were of ophelia.

to be quite frank, i have a lot of mixed feelings about this book. i feel like the book wasn’t “enemies to lovers” enough because i didn’t really get the “enemies” feel from them. it was just “annoyance to love” for me. the feeling of hate wasn’t really strong and it only stayed for like 1/4 of the book.

this book is perfect to those who love a fast-paced/fast-burn romance. unfortunately, i am not one of those people. i feel like there could’ve been more to the story, especially before their europe trip. there were certain time jumps that irked me a little. if the book was slightly longer, i think the author could’ve added more depth and complexity to the story.

now let’s go back to the positive stuff. i really enjoyed the witty banter and sarcastic comments that were exchanged throughout the whole book. adam and ophelia compliment each other very well. their story was so fluffy and cute and the chemistry was great!! adam definitely worships the ground she walks on and i love that :D

this book is perfectly suitable for people looking for a lighthearted read, especially those who love romcoms!!

i’d like to thank netgalley and florence fields for gifting me an arc in exchange for my honest review <3

this is the blueprint for what a rom-com should be. heartfelt, funny, predictable, cliché, and just an overall fun time. it’s also fast-paced. i read it in one sitting. i can totally see this being picked up as a screen adaptation. it reminded so much of 1990s and 2000s rom-coms. we need more of them on the big screen and in books.

if you would’ve told me that this is florence field’s debut novel, i wouldn’t have believed you. her writing is fresh and simplistic with the right amount of detail.

i adored ophelia and adam together and individually. the love adam has for ophelia is so sweet and their chemistry is electric from their first meeting. i found myself relating to ophelia and adam at certain points.

i loved that they were journalists. i love books set in the publishing world since i dabble in freelance writing so i know how the industry works. it’s such a fun setting for a rom-com.

consider me as an official member of the florence fields fan club. i cannot wait to read the next book in this series and just more of her books in general.

if you love classic rom-coms, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, and reading about the world of journalism, you’ll adore this book.

I absolutely loved this rom com! There was so much information regarding the location and the characters. The author absolutely knew how to be descriptive, and it made the book 10x better! I loved how the feelings between the characters improved a lot throughout the story. The siblings giving the family feel to Ophelia who didn’t know the feeling was such an emotional yet intense part of the book. I’m glad they gave into their feelings for each other. The postcards were a great touch to show the emotion that Adam felt and that was what got through to his mother. Adam, being the soon to be best book boyfriend, jumped into action once he heard of Ophelia’s birthday was the next day and had a birthday surprise ready for her. It was perfect!

Overall, this book had me hooked from the moment I started reading it as I finished it in one day.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a great rom com, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, one bed, coworkers to lovers, and a crazy family dynamic. This would be one that I would love on my bookshelf one day and I’m sure many others would feel the same when they read it as well.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for giving me an arc copy of this book to read and review. All thoughts and comments are my own.

This was such a sweet and fast pace romance. I loved the enemies to lovers trope. I absolutely loved this and my only complaint was that I wish the book had been longer. Seriously couldn’t get enough of Adam and Ophelia.

If you’re loving for a quick romance read the n pick this up because I couldn’t put it down.

This was a quick and easy read reminiscent of 2000s rom com's, which is always a good thing

However I didn't buy the chemistry between the main characters. I found the dual perspective a bit off putting since from the very start the male love interest was head over heels for the protagonist. I also didn't see a gradual change from hate to love from Ophelia's side, it happened pretty quickly, and seemed a bit baseless.

While the setting was enjoyable to read and the writing was pleasant, this particular romance wasn't for me.

A dual POV rom-com which features enemies to lovers, forced proximity and the beloved one bed trope!

'Bed. Not beds. Not this again. We both scan the room. And then once more. No couch'.

Synopsis
Ophelia is a fashion journalist, Adam is an outdoors journalist, with an interest in outdoorsy sports.. slightly differing interests! When they first meet at an event, everything goes wrong - he spills wine on her vintage Dior dress, she hears him call her 'vapid'... not a great start.

But when the company starts to do lay-offs, Ophelia needs to work to save her job. The only person available to help with this mission? Adam.

As they travel to places in Europe, Ophelia's dislike of Adam waivers, and she realises they have more in common than she thinks.. plus he is a sweetheart underneath, despite the brooding appearances.

Thoughts
Even though short and sweet, the characters were well and truly thought out with a lot of depth given, alongside the descriptions of the places they visit on their European trip.

I'm a sucker for enemies to lovers and the one bed trope, and this did not disappoint. The little touches with the postcards were adorable!

'I'm yours Ophelia. I think I've been yours since the moment we met'.

Can't wait to read more of what Florence writes!

"You drive me crazy. Wholly, wonderfully crazy. And I can't get enough of it."
I knot my fingers with his. "The feeling is mutual."

First of all, I have to send my deepest thanks to Florence Fields for giving me the opportunity to be an ARC reader for this book - I am so honored! And as you’ve seen from the five star review, I absolutely loved this book!!

Ticket to You follows journalists Adam Abrams and Ophelia Brooks on a multi-country European vacation, set to be career-saving.

The pair met at a holiday party thrown by the company which owns their respective magazines (think Condé Nast) where they are set up by a mutual friend. Yet, through a series of unfortunate events they end up having a meet cute which is less than ideal (although I still found it so endearing). The story picks back up three months later, and the pair have spent that entire period of time hating/pining for each other.

It turns out that Ophelia needs to go on a trip to save her job and the only person who can help her is her nemesis, Adam. As they travel and encounter multiple - yes, I said MULTIPLE - “only one bed” scenarios, their true feelings start to come out.

This book was seriously the cutest, and I had heart eyes for at least 80% of it. I want to be Ophelia’s best friend but I also want to steal her man hahaha
All I can really add here is that I’ll be patiently waiting for someone to turn this into a movie 😌

Here comes a list of tropes to help you decide if you want to read Ticket to You!:
- of course, only one bed (MULTIPLE TIMES PEOPLE!!!)
- mutual pining
- slow burn
- he falls first (!!!!)
- jealousy (but not of the scary/ toxic variety)
- he takes care of her
- enemies/rivals to lovers
- “not my type” (but they actually are)
- two grumps that are sunshines
- two tall characters (waiting for my two shorties representation hahaha - but for real, so cool to read about a tall FMC because I never have)

To top off this review, I have to include a Taylor Swift song that fits the story - and that is ‘You are in Love’ from 1989 (literally the MCs fit EXACT LYRICS!!!!)

CW: this story contains mentions of a “broken family” scenario and death of loved ones (not on the page)

This was such a cute enemies to lovers, forced proximity romance filled with adventure and sweet moments. I absolutely loved seeing Ophelia and Adam fall for each other as they hopped around the globe, exploring and learning more about one another. I also enjoyed the descriptions of each location and the people they met along the way. This book definitely gave me wanderlust!

Can I also shout from the rooftops how much I loved that… THERE WAS NO THIRD ACT BREAKUP! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 Can we see more of this please!?

This book is just everything. I read it in one day simply because I wasn’t able to put it down. I adored it from the first chapter and I still can’t get over how much I truly enjoyed this story. And Ophelia and Adam?! Chefs kiss. Seriously.

I love Ophelia. She’s sarcastic, smart, doesn’t take shit from anyone while also being relatable and cute. When she and Adam have to go on an important work trip together, she’s forced to leave her comfort zone and spend time with her (work)enemy, who was not only rude and presumptuous to her but also embarrassed her in front of all her colleagues. She’s like a force of nature, always trying her best and never hiding who she is as a person. The way she deals with the loss of her grandparents was so real and really helped me to relate and connect to her as a character.

Adam Abrams - I don’t know how someone can be so grumpy and reserved while being such a caring golden retriever, goofy-smile adventurer at the same time, but Adam perfected it. At the beginning he’s irritating and arrogantly rude, therefore getting to know him as this sweet, caring guy who would do literally anything for Ophelia and her happiness was the best thing ever. Together they open up to each other, set healthy boundaries and their communication is just amazing.

Besides Adam and Ophelia there were so many other great characters such as Gemma, Eloise and Adam’s Dad. The family dynamics were awesome and I was glad to see Naomi come to terms with Adam’s relationship too. Additionally, all the traveling in this book just spoke right to my heart.

Was this the most perfect story of all times? Of course not. There were quite a few clichés and there could’ve been a little more spice(in my opinion!) but then again is there even such a thing as “the perfect book”?

All in all, a quick, fun read with heartwarming moments and a capturing story line.

Thank you NetGalley and Florence Fields for this ARC!

Ticket to You is a charming opposites-attract romcom by debut author Florence Fields. Ophelia Brooks and Adam Abrams, two magazine journalists, are not off too a good start after a disastrous first impression. With company layoffs left and right and their jobs seemingly on the chopping block, the two bregrudgingly team up for a European travel assignment. Through their travels and new experiences, they begin to understand one another better, realizing they fit and connect better than anticipated with their glaring differences.

Ticket to You was very fast-paced, but the characters and story line were still developed well. I especially liked the dual POV and internal dialogue. Ophelia is driven and miraculously toes the line between fabulous yet down-to-earth. Adam is extremely attentive and protective, and it was nice to see him open up throughout the story. Both characters faced some very real struggles with family and their careers, but Ticket to You wasn’t trying to make your heart bleed or ache. There were great minor characters, too, that I’m hoping will be the focus for future books!

I really adored this Ticket to You and look forward to reading Fields’ future work! Four wonderful stars!

I received an ARC copy (thank you x10000) of Florence Fields “Ticket to You” set to release on July 23 and I’m recommending EVERYONE go get this book on release day !!! Do you SEE this cover?! It’s so cute. I’m a sucker for pink covers. This was such a quick easy read, I was giggling, I had butterflies, and I really enjoyed (and appreciated) the slow burn tension, yet pg-13 spice. Ophelia and Adam, were written so beautifully. The sarcasm and banter, the flirting, chefs kiss. Adam was the sweetest, a grumpy sunshine if you will. I loved all the descriptions of the people, the places. I can’t wait for the rest of the Wonderings series, I hope we get to see more of the Abrams siblings !!

Florence states she wants to write books that remind you of early 2000’s romcoms & THIS TOTALLY DID. I saw someone else’s review say that they thought the book gave them PWMOV, it happened one summer & the hating game vibes - I AGREE 1000% and I LOVE IT. If you like any of those you’ll surely like this book.

Thank you again Florence Fields for the ARC & introducing me to Ophelia and Adam 💘💖💕💗

I received an ARC from netgalley in exchange of an honest review. I wanna thank them and the author for this copy:

This book was marvelous, I loved it. The writing was very good, the characters were amazing, the places and descriptions were on point, everything was so well done. Ophelia made herself and I like that, she fought for what she wanted and she got it. It wasn't easy for her but she kept trying and didn't give up. She did what was best for her, no matter what, she listened to her heart and that's more than enough. Adam was so sweet, loved him. He really liked her and you could see it. All the little things he did or paid attention to were so important. He was there for her, and that's what you do when you love someone. She did the same to him. They were there for each other. I loved them individually and as a couple, they really complemented each other so well. They were just an amazing couple and I was here for it.

I fell in love with this book! If you’re looking for a rom-com to check out, definitely grab this!

Ophelia is a fashion journalist who attends a holiday party where she clashes with Adams who is an outdoors journalist that spills red wine on her dress. From there, they are enemies but we all know that love is always in the air.

They end up on a work trip together that ends up changing both their lives.

Adams's siblings and dad were great and I was happy to see his mom come around. They made Ophelia feel like she had a true family.

Adam is simply amazing. He’s so caring, the wonderful birthday surprise, standing up to his mother and the postcards.

I could not put this book down. If you love enemies to lovers, one bed, or workplace romance then you will love this book.

Thank you, NetGalley for the EARC! As always, my review is my opinion and thoughts. This review will be shared on my Instagram (@Alexandriavwilliams_) shortly.

Ophelia and Adam are journalists at the same company but have very different personalities. When they meet at a holiday party, Adam spills red wine on Ophelia's vintage dress and insults her. Months later, Ophelia proposes a final project to save her job and is assigned to work with Adam as a travel journalist. As they travel together, Ophelia realizes that Adam may not be as bad as she initially thought.

"I'm yours, Ophelia. I think I've been yours since the moment we met."

Ophelia is a strong and tall girl, which I love. Adam may seem grumpy, but he's deep and likable once you understand him. This book had everything I wanted with its enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, and one-bed trope. Both characters had remarkable depth, which is often missing in this genre.

The characters in this book were well-developed and had depth, despite the story being short. The descriptions of the places they visited during their European trip were also vivid and added to the overall enjoyment. I loved this book, and it's even better now that I know it's part of a series! Adam and Ophelia are so cute, and I really enjoyed their banter. The slow-burn romance was fantastic, and I loved the postcards in the story. I hope the next book focuses on Adam's sister because I liked her character. I also have a soft spot for Gemma.

This book was incredibly adorable and well-written, making it a delightful and effortless read. I highly recommend it and eagerly anticipate the sequel. A big thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Ophelia is a fashion journalist. Adam is an adventure/outdoor journalist. When a mutual friend tries to set them up, it goes horribly wrong- red wine and vintage Dior don't mix!

Ophelia tries to put that night (and Adam) out of her mind for good... until the magazine she writes for runs into financial trouble and her dream job is in jeopardy. As a result, the unlikely pair embark on a work trip across Europe.

I enjoyed this cozy rom-com so much! It was an easy read written in dual pov. The characters were very easy to like and I was rooting for them immediately! And if you're looking for tropes- this book has a ton!

• enemies to lovers
• opposites attract
• coworkers
• forced proximity
• one bed
