He's my brother's best friend My teenage crush He's one of the biggest star's in the world And now... he's my boss?
Daisy’s been in love with her brother’s best friend for almost a decade. Ryder Black, a world-famous rock star, still sees her as the messed-up sixteen-year-old with a crush that she used to be.
Needing an escape from her life, she agrees to take a pet-sitting job in a small coastal town. But when the owner of the house—and the dog—turn out to be her Ryder, she figures her luck is turning. She’s got a summer to get him to fall in love with her and with his temporary pet Corgi.
All Ryder Black wants is to have a peaceful few weeks at the summer house his grandmother left him. He needs to overcome writer’s block and record a new song, and find a permanent home for the dog he found on tour. The last thing he expects to see is his friend’s little sister pet sitting for him.
Keeping his distance is more difficult than expected. Daisy’s sunny presence is everywhere, whether she’s encouraging him to sing karaoke or hosting Corgi playdates in the pool. And the longer they live together, the harder it is to remember the very valid reasons he shouldn’t fall for his best friend’s sister.
Star-Crossed Crush is a small town rock star romance: -Grumpy sunshine -Crush on brother’s best friend -Forced proximity -Summer small town vibes
Sarah Deeham is the author of spicy slowburn romance novels to make readers smile and swoon. With a master's degree in writing and publishing, she got her start in writing as a freelance journalist, communications and marketing manager, and an editorial director for a public relations agency. She is an American living overseas and currently makes her home in Kuala Lumpur with her husband, two children, and lazy golden retriever. When she's not sitting in a cafe dreaming up stories, she's a photographer and world wanderer.
Ryder Black is now a famous rock star who happens to be Daisy’s brother’s best friend. She has had a major crush on Ryder for 10 years! After her boutique store goes bankrupt, and she needs a new home since she lived above the shop, she accepts a temporary job for the summer as a live-in pet sitter. Neither she nor Ryder were aware that the job was for Ryder’s stray corgi he had taken in while on tour. Rather than take a guest room in the huge house, Daisy found a guest cottage out by the pool and she and Archie moved in there. It’s been almost a month already and she and the dog have perfected their daily routine. Long walks are especially helpful because they tire Archie out and he gets in less trouble. She keeps a pair of chewed up shoes which she swaps out to him each morning as she rescues the good shoes he is about to chew, so their routine is comfortable. She even joined a corgi playgroup for Archie’s enjoyment. In the meantime, she had to send an email and photo of Archie every day to the owner so he knew things were going well. It actually helped them to interact as well and get to know each other through the emails.
All Ryder had wanted was some relaxing time at the house his grandmother had left him. He told his pet sitter he would arrive in July. This would give him the quiet time he needed to write his next song. And he also planned to find a new home for Archie, his dog, since he couldn’t take him with him on his music tours. Ryder was due any minute. She had just given the dog his bath when he escaped from her and ran into the muddy garden to dig. He continued running, leaving mud everywhere on all the outdoor furniture… and then sees an open door into the mansion’s living room! The all-white suede couch is doomed. As Archie leaped toward the couch, Daisy leaped at him, caught him in the air, and rolled with him. Nice save – until he shook his body and mud flew everywhere. Can she get Archie and the place cleaned up before the owner arrives? But Archie stares at something, leaps from her arms tracking mud all over the marble tile, and launches his muddy little body just as the front door flies open and the owner arrives – catching the muddy dog in mid-air! Her eyes are staring at RYDER!
Once she finds out her boss is Ryder, will she get him to fall in love with her by the time he leaves? Will he admit his hidden feelings for her? Or will an embarrassing video take away any chance of winning his heart?
The author’s creative way of giving the reader Daisy’s story from her past while moving through the story in the present is very effective and done well. This story line is captivating and will definitely hold the reader’s attention!
Ryder is our famous singer, his focus has been his work always! Daisy has a boutique but she is her own designer and stylist! Daisy has turned into a pet sitter when she meets Ryder. Their attraction hasn't been waived off since childhood! Daisy's flirting skills has Ryder holding his fists tight and ready to fight anyone. Soon they have to get into a real- fake- relationship. This was my favorite part of the book. I could see and understand them here so much better! Their childhood dairy references make you understand them and their past so much better, glad the author added them!
I loved Daisy and her carefree nature, this had everyone loving her too especially Ryder. The fact that Ryder was so attentive and damn caring with Daisy had me teary-eyed. That's not a date. You're worth making an effort for!
He could have been my book boyfriend but what made him lose was that he hesitated so much to go for Daisy, I wanted to smack him sometimes.
The beginning of the book was a little rocky but when their dating era started, it hit off for me. I had to highlight so much because damn the author has thrown truths of life in her book.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Daisy's life has taken yet another turn, and her latest business has been shuttered. But she has a short-term gig pet sitting for awhile to tide her over. Too bad her friend Emma, that helped her get the job, forgot to mention who her new boss will be - her childhood crush, her brother's friend, rockstar Ryder Black. Now Daisy's got one summer to make good on her long ago vow to make Ryder fall for her. But the obstacles that were always there are still present, and may make it harder than Daisy even realizes, in order for them to find happiness together.
Ryder made a promise once upon a time, to his best friend, Chase, that he'd stay away from his sister Daisy. He's kept that promise all these years, but now that she's staying at his home pet-sitting his dog, he's finding it very difficult to remember that he can't have her. Her sunshiney ways are getting to him, and his heart has no hope of defending itself in the face of her adorableness.
Aww these two... Though they both have had very difficult pasts, they're also survivors. They've dealt with it in different ways, become different people, but their feelings for each other have always been there. When they finally got on the same page and figured it out, I was cheering them on. At turns emotionally heavy and funny, their story is sweet and delicious and has me dying with impatience for Emma and Sebastian's story, which I hope is coming soon.

"Perhaps some girls would be smarter with their hearts, wouldn’t forgive or forget so easily. Would stick to the plan of finally moving on. But I’m not some girls. I’m me. I lead with my heart. I wield my woman’s prerogative to change my mind on a whim. I’ve raised making questionable decisions to an art form. And this doesn’t feel like a whim. It feels inevitable, like gravity. Or fate. So I smile with his finger still against my lips. He groans. There are so many things I could say. But right now, I don’t want to talk. Definitely don’t want to think. All I know is I’m not missing this chance to be with the man I’ve been in love with for a decade."
“Maybe you’re a little right. But making smart decisions is super boring. It’s just not in my nature."
Ryder tambien tenía sentimientos por ella, pero hizo una promesa y por eso me mantuvo alejado todos esos años: In my prayers, I make a deal with God—or with the devil, I’m not sure which. That if she recovers, I’ll never make that same mistake. I’ll honor Chase’s requests to stay away from his sister. I’ll never again lead her on. I’ll do everything I can to protect her, to make her happy, but from afar. And I swear, if she recovers, I’ll never tempt fate by going back on my word."
"The first time I thought she died, I swore I’d leave her alone. The second time I thought she died, leaving her alone became impossible. It’s time I admit to myself that I can no longer keep the promises I made in the hospital that night. They are no longer necessary or valid. They haven’t been for years. She’s not the same girl she was. She’s changed, grown. In so many ways, she’s stronger and surer than I am. She can handle the spotlight that I live under. And I’ve changed as well. The compulsion to see her, to touch her, to tell her how much I missed her tonight—it’s visceral. It constricts my chest and makes me feel alive in a way I haven’t for years, maybe ever. It’s disorienting how strong the emotion is when we’ve only had one night together."

✔ Uhhhh wanted to smack Ryder so many times in this book. The hot and cold from his side could have been tapered down a little.

When Daisy first fell in love with her brother’s best friend, she told herself she’d give him ten years to return her feelings or she’d force herself to move on. But a decade later, her heart still swoons when she thinks about him and he’s still not showing any signs of loving her back. Down on her luck after her business fails, she moves to the East Coast for a short pet-sitting gig while she tries to figure out what’s next in her life. The owner of the dog she’s sitting—Archer—lives out of town and insists she sends him a picture of his dog a day. She enjoys messing with and harmlessly flirting with Archer’s dad over text each day, but then he unexpectedly shows up with the intention of staying for the last month of her tenure—and both he and she are shocked to see each other. Turns out, Archer’s owner is Ryder, famous rockstar, Daisy’s brother’s best friend, and her longtime unrequited crush. Just as she’s forcing herself to get over him, he’s back in her life, messing with her feelings.
I give 4⭐️ to books I enjoyed but will accept critiques on. For this story, I can see how some readers might want more character and setting development.
Overall, I enjoyed this sunshinexsadboy fic. Daisy is a fun character who brings light into the life of those around her, but secretly wishes people would take her more seriously—especially her brother and Ryder who seem to think she’s permanently stunted in a traumatized sixteen-year-old’s mind.
Ryder is a little hot and cold throughout the story, which can be frustrating, but I think his back story—and especially his history with Daisy—helps justify it.
This would be a good pick for readers looking for a romance that’s not too heavy (although there are a couple of heavy things alluded to in this story) and something that’s quick and easy.

🛑Read on with caution; review may contain spoilers🛑
Star-Crossed Crush is a sweet and romantic novel about rock star Ryder and recently-closed-her-business-and-is-now-pet-sitting Daisy. They’ve known and have been pining for each other for years, but Ryder has been keeping his distance from her as he blames himself for something that happened to Daisy all those years ago, plus Daisy is his best friend Chase’s sister, and has made him swear to never date her.
Since Daisy recently closed her business and needs a new place and job, fate in the form of Emma, Ryder’s other best friend Sebastian’s assistant, has hired her to be Ryder’s corgi Archie’s pet-sitter. With Ryder and Daisy living under one roof, they reconnect and fall deeper in love with each other again. It was sweet to see how much they have fallen for each other in the past through snippets of their diary entries shown in every chapter of the book, but I loved how their second chance at love made them fall even harder for each other, even though Daisy was quite reluctant to fall for Ryder. I found their banter light and fun, and it was really cute to see them as a happy family with Archie, the sweetest and happiest corgi I have ever encountered in a novel.
Star-Crossed Crush is a light-hearted and sweet romance. If you loved the other books in the Falling for Famous series, you’ll love this as well!
5⭐ 2🌶 Wow, this book was just adorable! It's all about this sweet love story that really tugs at your heartstrings. You've got these two characters who are dealing with their pasts, trying to heal, and figure out what they really want in life. And let me tell you, it's not an easy journey for them. But that's what makes their story so real and captivating. So, Daisy, she's at this point where she's kind of lost, you know? She decides to take on this dog-sitting gig for the summer to clear her head. And then bam! Her old crush, Ryder, shows up out of the blue. Now, normally that might be a good thing, but there are a couple of complications. Like, Ryder is her brother's best friend, and she's been stuck in the friend zone with him for like, a decade! But hey, time's up, and Ryder still needs to figure out if he's the right guy for her. He's got all these doubts and baggage, but deep down, you can tell he really cares about Daisy. What I loved most about this book is how it switches between their past and present. It's like you're right there with them, experiencing everything firsthand. And Archie! That little cutie brought it all together! Daisy is such a strong character, despite all the stuff she's been through. She's not afraid to stand up for herself, and she's got this amazing ability to bring people together. And Ryder? He's not your typical swoon-worthy hero. He's got his flaws and insecurities, but that's what makes him so relatable. And don't even get me started on the ending and epilogue! It tied everything up so perfectly, leaving me with this warm, fuzzy feeling inside. Overall, it's a feel-good read that'll leave you smiling long after you've finished it.
She just closed her consignment shop looking for the next step in her life and decides to take a job dog sitting for the summer. He is a famous pop star that will never admit his muse is his best friend's sister.
Daisy is a fun loving, carefree woman who loves vintage clothes. Her business never fully made it to a comfortable level of success. Her famous actor step brother paid her rent and is the reason she survived for so long. Her decision to start a new life was a tough one with very little direction. When she gets an opportunity to dog sit for an anonymous person in a mansion, she thinks it sounds like an adventure.
He became famous in a boy band as a teen. A decade later he is long emancipated not only from his family, but from his band as well. His solo career has been a successful one and his close friends helped him through some difficult times. Over the years there was one girl with whom he shared an unforgettable bond. He never shared his true feelings with her, but she will always be special to him.
When Daisy learns who is the anonymous owner of the sweetest little dog in the world she is shocked. Her brother's best friend who she has had a huge crush on for over a decade is the last person she expects to share forced proximity with even after he kept her at arms length. As the days pass, it becomes apparent to them both that what sounds impossible could be better than they could ever hope for.
Dual POV, best friends sister, celebrity/non celebrity, forced proximity, slow burn, mutual pining, open door love scenes.
A sweet little story between two people that are simply meant to be. I'm not a fan of a MMC who keeps his girl at arms length, but this has a satisfying build. Once they get out of their own way, it's a delight. Fun HEA and Epilogue.
I enjoyed this story very much. It was an engaging addition to this series about celebrity friends finding love. In this case, Daisy, the foster sister to a famous actor, was surprised to find out that her pet-sitting gig was actually for Ryder, a rockstar, and her brother’s best friend. Not to mention, the man she had been in love with for a decade. In forced proximity they both had to confront their feelings, from Daisy’s efforts to move on, to a PR plan to fake date after a clandestinely taken video of Daisy talking about her feelings went viral. “I can’t keep chasing after imaginary dreams.” The characters were great and layered. Daisy had a lot of baggage from her turbulent childhood and adolescence. “I was the one fawning after everyone, just wanting a home, just wanting love. And never finding somewhere or someone to truly belong. Even now that I’m supposedly grown up, I still feel like that.” And Ryder had some issues of his own. “‘Focusing only on work may have made you a success. But I doubt if it ever made you happy, not really.’” The third main character, Archie, the corgi, was adorable. There were lots of fun moments, emotional moments, and moments of romantic tension. I loved the resolution. It was so sweet. A perfect grand gesture. This is book three in the series and there is quite a bit of carryover with the characters from the previous books, but it still reads well as a standalone. This is a detailed open-door book with innuendo and a moderate amount of strong harsh language throughout.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Even though I selected this book based on the blurb, I really wasn’t expecting to like this book so much. I’ve been disappointed by too many books lately. So color me surprised when I actually enjoyed this book so much I stayed up way past my normal bedtime to finish it. For me that’s the hallmark of a good book, it keeps you invested and engaged until the very end.
The only reason this isn’t a 5-star for me is the beginning is a little difficult to connect with and initially Daisy comes across as more than a little nutty. Once Ryder becomes truly part of the story things get so much more interesting!
Daisy had a rough and tragic childhood and has seen more than her share of failure; however she isn’t a doormat and she truly loves people and her friends. I loved how in a matter of weeks she had built a village of people around her in the small town. She was such a fun and engaging character, who didn’t really know her worth or give herself enough credit.
Archie is comedic gold - this little corgi is a menace yet adorable.
Ryder was so much more than that expected and the definitely grew to love him. He has some swoon-inducing moves and is extremely protective of Daisy. It’s clear he has feelings for her yet doesn’t trust himself to show her how he feels.
I loved the ending and then the epilogue was fantastic. This was my first book by the author and I’m curious about her other books.
I received a free ARC from the author and Grey’s PR; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.
Sarah Deeham is back in her Falling for Famous series and we have the rockstar himself, Ryder Black and his Daisy girl. Have to say seeing Daisy with Ryder is like this reviewer seeing her favorite Backstreet Boy musician Kevin all googley eyes and fangirling. The thing is that Daisy has always been there for Ryder, when he was breaking out of the band he started, going solo. Now that she is all grown up he has no chance of denying her. Daisy is the girl that in a way is Ryder's muse bringing the words to him he needs for his music. The chemistry is there and no matter how much he tries Daisy is the one for him. Years ago because of the bro code he stayed away and well put himself in the friend zone. Fate, however has a way of bringing to two friends to a place where there's no more denying how they really feel for each other. Dasiy ,somehow is well feeling down seeing all her dreams go up in smoke feeling like she can't make it. Seeing Ryder with her, giving her the courage and rooting for her just made me swoon seeing him fight for her. Not only these two will make your heart go warm but there is one corgi that will make your heart melt more in this book. This was a great addition to the series, Sarah Deeham rocked with these two seeing Daisy finally find her true talent was just awesome. Loved it can't wait to see what is next in this series.
"I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own."
Daisy loves to take something old and make it new. She isn’t good at business and is forced to close her vintage boutique. Her foster brother’s assistant gets her a pet sitting job for the summer. Daisy has no clue who she is pet sitting for.
Ryder is an international rock star. He found a stray dog while on tour. He isn’t able to keep Archer with him so hires someone to dog sit for the summer. He had no clue he hired his best friend’s sister.
Can he continue to hide his feelings for Daisy or will he finally admit he is in love with her?
My Thoughts:
This is the second book I’ve read in the Falling for Famous Series. The series follows a group of famous friends (actors/musicians) and each finding love. You don’t have to read the books in order to follow the group dynamics. I have read book 2 and this is book 3 but haven’t read book 1 yet. There will be a fourth book.
I continue to love Sarah Deeham’s writing. I really liked Daisy. She was a free spirit with an ugly past. Daisy didn’t let her past hold her back and she was easy to love. I liked Daisy and Ryder together but felt the chemistry was lacking a little. I also would have liked Chase to be a bigger part of the story since he is the only person Daisy considered family.
Overall, I loved Star-Crossed Crush and hope to read book one before book four releases.
Thank you Grey’s Promo and Sarah Deeham for the complimentary copy of Star-Crossed Crush.
This was highly entertaining, I loved reading Ryder and Daisy's story. Ryder is a famous rock star, a commitment phobe and struggles with ignoring Best Friend's Sister. He was a grump and workaholic but loyal and caring in his own way. Daisy is fun, bubbly kind loving and just so adorable. She has had the worst upbringing and finally escaped her addict mother. She escaped to Chase's house. He is her brother. This is where she meets Ryder and falls in love with him around that time. From the past 10 years, we get little glimpse via their journal. Both clearly having feelings but Chase has already warned Ryder off Daisy. 10 Yrs later Daisy once again finds herself giving up on something. She just wants to be loved and belong. After closing her vintage shop for good, she takes a pet sitting job, whole she discovers her calling. Loved how she wins people around her with her carefree and bubbly personality. 1 month later the owner of the house turns up and it's Ryder!!! Loved how she was determined to make him see her more than Chase's sister. Absolutely hilarious at times with no filter. Their chemistry is so strong and hot. When he finally snaps it's blissful. A lot happens ad you should read and discover the fun and heart ache these two go through. I will say my most favourite bit is when Ryder performs at the award. I had butterflies and melted heart!!!! It's worth reading just for that bit.

✨ Second ChanceRomance ✨ Brother's best Friend ✨ Long Time Crush
Sweet, funny but also serious
Second Chance for happiness. Ryder and Daisy have known each other since they were teenagers. And just as long Daisy has a crush on him. Only now in secret because once upon a time there was an incident that almost ended tragic for both of them. After being forced to figure out what comes next in her life, Daisy gets a summer job as a pet sitter. Not knowing that she will run straight into her former crush and her brother's best friend. Both are surprised by that fact and try to handle the next few weeks. Ryder had to work out his music writing blockade and came to figure things out at his grandma's house. Where Daisy is pet-sitting on the dog that belongs to Ryder now. The time they spend, they use to get to know the mature versions of them and can get closure to the past. But there is also a lot of tension, attraction and chemistry between them. And to think how to handle that. Things get in their way or favor, as may want to see it, and both find themselves suddenly fake dating. But the line between fake and real begins to blur. And old and new feelings get in the mix. Feelings they thought and things they thought they wanted begin to change or to really unfold. But a lot stands in their way. Public attention, careers and family. The story is about two characters that had to overcome their past, heal and make up their minds about what they truly want. Both characters have changed as we could see from the diary entries both have had. This was not an easy gotten happy end but that made their story slow burn and very real.
Star-Crossed Crush ~ Falling for Famous #3 by Sarah Deeham.
PUBLISHER DESCRIPTION A pet sitter with a crush + her brother’s best friend (who happens to be a rock star) = one slow-burn and steamy small-town summer.
Sarah is a relatively new author to me as I have only read book 1 in this series. I found this book to be written very well, with wonderful characters that feel very real and you feel that you know them. This series follows on from previous books with those characters also appearing in this one. The storyline has been put together very well, in fact when you read the story you feel you too are there. Star-Crossed Crush has me engaged from beginning to end. I now need to purchase book two to see what I missed with this wonderful friendly group of friends and siblings. I cannot highly recommend this enough, it's that good.
Reasons I enjoyed this book: Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Happily Ever After, Inspirational, Original, Page-turner, Romantic, Realistic, Steamy, and Wonderful characters
Daisy and Ryder’s story was so cute and refreshing!
Daisy takes a job as a short term pet sitter after closing down her business and when the cute corgi’s owner comes home earlier she finds out her boss is her brother’s best friend and famous singer/musician Ryder Black. Daisy has had a crush on Ryder for almost 10 years and made herself a promise if after 10 years he didn’t return feelings for her then she’d give up her crush. So Daisy decided while they’re together for the time being to make Ryder fall in love with her.
Ryder has reciprocated Daisy’s feelings for years but after promising his best friend he wasn’t interested in his younger sister and another event from their past, he can never reveal his true feelings for Daisy. After a few crazy occurrence that brings them closer during their stay together, Ryder is having a lot of trouble brushing off how he feels. Can he risk his friendship for Daisy? Can he bring chaos to her life by putting her in the public eye?
Daisy is a breath of fresh air. Even though she struggles with feeling love and doesn’t always feel good enough, she also has a bubbly personality you can’t help but smile reading about her and the crazy things she says and does. Also, can’t forget the cute little corgi, Archie, who Daisy dresses up and makes matching outfits for.
you’re third on the pyramid, you were third overall
🎸 brothers best friend 🎸 small town 🎸 found family 🎸 forced proximity
Since she was a teenager and first met Ryder, Daisy has been head over heels with her brothers best friend (who also happens to be a famous singer). She promises herself that once it’s been ten years, she knows it’s never gonna happen… and the ten year anniversary happens to be at the end of this summer. Daisy leaves the big city after closing down her shop to go and dog sit in a small town. She becomes a part of the community and is enjoying her escape until she realises her boss is none other than Ryder himself.
This is my least favourite of the three I’ve read so far. I felt I connected well with Daisy, but struggled with Ryder. However, I will definitely finish the series.
I enjoyed seeing the start of their relationship through the diary entries, however there needs to be a trigger warnings such as suicide attempt, death of loved ones and child abuse
My second book in the series and it was another heartfelt sweet story. It was hard not to fall in love with Archie and free spirit Daisy. I loved the chemistry between Daisy and Ryder and how their relationship folds out. It makes it more interesting to switch between the present time and the past, to read more about their story before you jump in years later.
The ending was a bit over the top for me, but I think that was the whole clue: doing something that would make a grand gesture towards Daisy, so it was a good ending.
Like the second book, it was a good read and finished the book the same day. Compared to the story of Poppy and Ronan, I skipped less and the story seemed a bit more up to speed. Maybe due to the switching to past and present.
And since the PA still doesn't have her own story, I am definitely checking back to see if Emma will find her love finally ;-)
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Super cutesy rom-com of a beautiful girl falling in love with a rock star!
Daisy and Ryder met when they were only seventeen but he was quite famous and Daisy was running away from a horrible home. They were their safe haven during that summer and they were always together, so of course, she fell in love but circumstances got on their way and were apart for ten years. Now, after closing her beloved store, Daisy finds herself pet-sitting a gorgeous corgi named Archie whose owner can’t be bothered as he is really busy. Daisy has to send him a daily picture of the dog and they start connecting until one day when the pet owner arrived unannounced, and they got another summer together!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
“I’d give anything to go back and do this over. To have time with you. You are a pain, Daisy, you’re a pain in my heart. Because all I want is to be around you, to know every part of you, even when it’s wrong.” ~ Ryder
This was such a fun read! A great brother's best friend, slow burn romance. Poor Daisy her life isn't going as planned so onto the next adventure pet-sitting. Little Archie is so cute, but so mischievous with a little matchmaker thrown in. Wait until Daisy sees who she is pet sitting for. She has always had a crush on Ryder. He has been keeping his distance, but now they are in forced proximity situation. I feel for both of them because they have some family issues. Daisy's parents don't deserve this bright light in their lives for what they had put her through. They may just find some magic working in their favor in Ryder's grandmother's house. I love how Daisy brings light and fun into Ryder's life and in turn he makes her feel safe. A book that hooks you right away. I loved ending, but the epilogue is so perfect. This book left my heart happy sighing for these two and Archie.
This was such a fun read!! If you read star crossed letters than you are already know Ryder and Daisy (if not no biggie). I love Daisy her life has been hard but she always put on a brave face even when life goes sideways. She has two constants in her life her brother Chase and her decade long crush on his rockstar best friend Ryder. Ryder has depended on himself and his friend since he was a teenager and he will do anything to keep his promises to them. So when Chase asked Ryder to stay away from his little sister he holds to that promise. When they find themselves sharing a house one summer Daisy decides to do or die and time to take her shoot with Ryder. This book will give you nothing but good feels and laughs.
Ryder and Daisy have been friends for 10 years. Suddenly, Daisy loses her business and finds herself in need of a job. She ends pet sitting Ryder’s dog in his mansion while he’s away. Although Daisy and Ryder have been friends for a decade, I really didn’t feel the connection between them. They didn’t talk much to each other in this 10 years except for at holidays or randomly in passing each year. When Ryder comes back into the picture, it’s clear he doesn’t want a relationship. This is where I felt the disconnect between them. The book goes back and forth between the present and the past (through diary excepts). Most of the time the dialogue just seemed forced and slow. While I enjoyed the ending, I had to really push to get through it.
This is the first book I have read by Sarah Deeham but it certainly won’t be the last. If you love sweet romance stories look no further than rock star Ryder and his best friend’s sister Daisy’s journey. This couple have known each other for years and Ryder has been hiding his feelings for her because he was scared of the repercussions if lines are crossed. Daisy has recently closed her business which leaves her looking for a place to stay as well as a new job. What follows is a job opportunity which comes with a play to stay as Ryder’s corgi Archie’s pet-sitter. As these two spend time under the same roof it’s not long before feelings come into play and love blossom’s. Star Crossed Crush is a heartwarming, well written story that will appeal to a wide range of audiences. It’s sweet, its, witty, it’s romantic but more importantly it’s a breath of fresh air watching these two reconnecting.
This is the third book in this series, and this is Ryder and Daisy’s story. Daisy is sweet, and she has had a tough and tragic upbringing, and she has loved her brother’s best friend, famous rock star Ryder for almost a decade. Needing to escape from her life, Daisy takes a job pet-sitting a corgi in a small coastal town, only to find out that the owner is Ryder, but he sees her as the messed up 16-year old she used to be. This is a good story which is a slow burn with family, friendships, emotions, forced proximity, humor, and love, which leads to an enjoyable page turner. The only downside in my opinion only, is that I struggled to connect with Dairy to start with. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Ryder is a famous singer, whose best friend has a sister named Daisy. She has a boutique but it wasn't doing well so she had to close the doors. She is a designer and stylist. But she decides to take a job as a pet sitter. But she didn't know the owner was Ryder. Daisy has had a crush on Ryder for 10 years. But he has never given her any sign that he has the same feelings. She is ready to let him go and move on when something happens that has these two fake dating? or is it real? I liked this one. I liked Ryder and Daisy. Daisy is a firecracker and loved by everyone. Daisy constantly flirting with Ryder. I like their banter. Ryder gives me whiplash with his hesitation to go for Daisy or not. It was an enjoyable book and I loved the characters.
Grumpy/Sunshine, Close Proximity, Small Town, with Adorable Rescue Pup
This book was fun and heartwarming from cover to cover - and hard to put down. I loved both Daisy and Ryder despite often wanting to shake both of them for their failures to communicate, although I could understand how it was coming from both of their tragic pasts. And the background characters - especially Alfie the rescue Corgi stole the book, and demonstrated that despite Ryder's "rock star persona" he really has a big mushy heart of gold. It was definitely steamy - just the right amount in my opinion - and I loved how protective Ryder was over Daisy. It is part of a series, but is easily read as a standalone although they are all wonderful. I can't wait for the next one! Enjoy!
Now this was an ARC to remember! I adored Daisy and Ryder! She’s been in love with him since she was a kid but he never felt comfortable crossing that line and when it was questioned, her brother made sure Ryder would never cross that line again. Daisy made some really stupid decisions growing up and that made her question a lot about her life when she got older. It took her a minute to collect her bearings so she started dog sitting for a friend but didn’t realize who she was actually dog sitting for. When she found out she wanted to quit but she grew so close to that little corgi that she couldn’t turn away. Life really changed for her after that and she became the woman she was meant to be. Loved it!
This was my first read by Sarah and I can easily say it won’t be my last. Im so grateful to have received the ARC for this book!! It was such a cute read. A brothers best friend who also is a rockstar, yeah I was like sign me up!! They have had feelings for each other ever since they first met, but unfortunately they never acted on their feelings. But now 10 years later that’s about to change because Daisy has come to pet sit his dog. This is definitely a slow burn book and the sexual tension between Ryder & Daisy was so prominent. This was a quick read and I definitely enjoyed it. Definitely check the trigger warnings because there are some topics that can trigger anyone!!
