Sophia and Rider are set to take the alpha titles of their respective packs when they turn nineteen. Although their families are close, the two have clashed since they were kids because of their strong personalities.
Where Sophia is impulsive and outspoken, Rider is a planner and domineering.
Sophia doesn't believe in fate; she prefers to carve her own path when it comes to life and love. In contrast, Rider believes in fate but expects the Moon Goddess to pair him with a sweet, innocent, submissive mate who will obey and depend on him for protection.
When rogues start attacking packs at random, Rider and Sophia are forced to work together to deal with the rising threat.
The chemistry between the two burns hot, but their strong personalities make working together difficult. Will they be able to find a middle ground? Or will they kill each other before the rogues get a chance to?
Will Rider be able to tame the little spitfire named Sophia, or will she stand her ground and resist him"
What happens when vampires and witches take notice of the looming war and team up with the rogues? Will Rider and Sophia have what it takes to save their people?
Secrets regarding Sophia's royal bloodline will be discovered, which draws unwanted attention in her direction. Will Rider be able to protect her from the new threats? Does Sophia even need protection?
This is a standalone dark paranormal romance.
Trigger This book is spicy with some graphic scenes. There is also a decent amount of violence and foul language, making this book ideal for an audience of 18+. A full list of triggers can be found at the beginning of the book.
Alpha vs Alpha follows childhood enemies Sophia and Rider as they come together to save their packs from a common threat. Sophia is a strong yet impulsive future alpha. She's determined to be seen as a equal to the male alphas in there community. Rider is a serious and tough future alpha who dosnt feel women are made for the alpha role. This is a brilliant story. I loved reading about Sophia and Rider trying to work together to save the lives if there people and come to terms with the chemistry they feel with eachother. I think the enemies to lovers angle in this book was done realy well. I laughed and cried along witn the main characters. I definitely recommend this book. It's one of the best werewolf books I've read
I devoured this book in 2 days non stop reading. I could not put it down love the store line plenty action kept my interest. Rider and Sophie's journey was nuts. Both alphas, Both stubborn and hard headed and a pain in the butt. And their chemistry, holy cow. All the chemistry made the spicy scenes amazing. I was sad when ended..
This steamy werewolf romance book shows how tough it can be for two alphas (m/f) to have a relationship even with the help of the moon goddess-given mate bond. I did receive an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
This paranormal romance features werewolves, witches, and vampires, is a stand-alone in an inter-connected universe of books, and features a HEA.
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Spice Level: 2.5 out of 5 - plot-driven with a number of steamy scenes that aren't closed door.
Readability: This book could have used a bit more proofreading in the copy I received but it wasn't to the point that it was annoying for me to read.
Review: This isn't the first book I've read by S. Lexi and having enjoyed the previous books so much I definitely looked forward to reading Alpha VS Alpha.
If you haven't read a werewolf romance book before, the opening chapter does a good job of explaining how the universe works without drawing things out if you're already familiar with how things usually work.
I will admit that while I enjoyed reading this book and give it a solid 4 stars, it's probably my least favorite of the four books I've read by Lexi.
This book features a main couple, Sofia and Rider, that have known each other since they were young children.
Instead of being the best of friends, they are a bit more like frenemies, at least until they become close to the age (19) of being able to sense their fated mate.
Since Sofia and Rider are alphas, they're both very confident and strong-willed which obviously creates obstacles in a potential relationship that will require compromise.
I normally really enjoy this kind of character in books, but both of these main characters really tried my patience multiple times in a way that didn't exactly make this book a page-turner for me because of their repeated immaturity and selfishness.
Luckily through various twists and turns our main couple finally figure things out, grow up and develop a bit, and end up with a lovely happily ever after, even if it takes some time, pain, and groveling.
There are a number of side characters mentioned throughout the book, mainly friends and enemies of the main characters.
I felt the number of them toed the line of being too many, including feeling the story of at least one couple could be fleshed out to be its own book.
But Lexi did a good job of interweaving them throughout the main story to add more twists and turns without detracting too much from the main characters.
Overall, while it may not be a book I'd read a second time, I did enjoy it and recommend others to read it. I look forward to what Lexi writes next.
This paranormal romance book is a rocky road of surprises, stubborn Alphas, and sizzling scenes. I like the author's incorporation of fated, rejected, and chosen mates into the storyline. The royalty part of it was unexpected but did end sweetly. The book is a very new adult with explicit content. I did love the strong Alpha female Sophia and her equally stubborn counterpart Alpha Rider. Overall, this was a slightly emotional, sizzling hot wolf shifter book.
Rider is soon to be the Alpha of the pack. He will inherit the title from his parent, but he is also a misogynist. He is soon to be of age to find his fated mate. Rogues are their most significant issue, forcing him to work with people he would rather not, especially a neighboring pack Alpha female.
Sophia is stubborn. She is an Alpha, female, and Royalty trying hard to earn her place to get her inherited title. She is kind and caring with a group of close friends. But she must go assist with the rogue issue and deal with Rider.
Oh, the fated mates bond is honestly screwing their thoughts and messing up their encounters with one another. Sophia and Rider are enemies to lovers; their attraction is burning up the pages. The story alone is complete without the other storyline of the rogues. Still, the main characters are the main point.
We see a change in Rider as the story progresses. He is more possessive and protective and less frustrating. Sophia is very actionable, often reacting without thinking fully. She is intelligent and capable, Alpha, but her responses often get her in trouble. I did love the steamy scene between them and the truth serum. I love a good, angsty, fated mate story, and this one isn't disappointing so far.
Ah, the logistics of two Alphas finally come into play. I like the action-packed adventure, and the little witch in the camp is definitely attractive. However, Sophia's spontaneousness leads us to the next part of the book.
Her knowledge of the vampires is odd, as she hasn't encountered them much. Somehow, amidst the action-packed parts, fated mates turned into rejected mates, and now Sophia and Rider have some hard choices.
Yup, the end of this book totally has me being a blubbering mess. Of course, after the heartbreaking decisions, they make a choice. I love that it is on their own terms and not what fate demands. But this wolf shifter book becomes more like a contemporary romance in this decision.
We still get some of it, but more along the lines of chosen mates; this story has run the gamut in the mating department with the same couple. Of course, once they figure out their new adult issues and Alpha issues, another new thing is thrown out of them.
This book ends sweetly and without any more unexpected surprises.
I thought the push/pull between Sophia and Rider was going to be too much. Too infuriating for me to handle or too forced. There's the good kind of push and pull, and then there's just the kind that is over the top and unbelievable.
Sometimes Authors try to create so much dominance in both characters that the chemistry is lacking, or the dislike of a character cannot be changed. You can't have a redemption arc if you make it impossible to like them.
For me, that never happened here. I felt the control between the two dominant characters was written really well. Enough push/pull for you to be entertained, but not so much that you wanted to give up.
I loved their fire and heated moments from the very beginning and all the way to the end. I loved the growth Sophia and Rider had as individuals and together. ~ Character development for Rider was so well done that even if you were disappointed at times, you also understood him and didn't give up. ~ Sophia's character was written really well, too, so that even though their story was more praise towards her, she wasn't without fault.
I kind of hate when one of the main leads (or sometimes both) is written in a way that makes them seem like they are perfect to themselves and everyone else. Have you ever read a book and just felt like you couldn't connect b/c the character everyone was fawning over wasn't even likable? Have you ever had an issue where you don't understand why every single male character is obsessed with the female character and vice versa? I have, and I usually hate it.
I'm SO HAPPY to say that doesn't happen with S.Lexi's books.
I was thrilled that I could handle the drama of their relationship, didn't get bored, felt emotions, and freaking LOVED those spicy scenes. S. Lexi has a gift for making you feel when you read her stories.
A little late to the party with this review. Please forgive me y’all! With that being said, I enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought! This is my first omegaverse novel and I’m so glad I signed up to be a part of the arc team for this.
This book follows Sophia and Rider, fated mates who have quite a power struggle occurring between them. Over the course of this story their relationship made me laugh, cry, scream, and so much more. They push each others boundaries to no end and through trials and tribulations they learn not only about each other but themselves.
The spice was there between the two although the book was far more plot based. It kept me hooked exploring the dynamic between Sophia and Rider as well as following along on all their adventures along the way. Their friends and family are funny and loyal additions to their trials. I feel spin off books for some side characters would be a great way to expand this universe.
My only critiques are that there are some technical errors in the writing which could just use another quick editing run through. Not so much so that it would impact reading experience but worth mentioning for folks that have a hard time with it. I also feel as though this could have been a duet rather than a single novel.
Otherwise, I absolutely loved the ride I was in for with this one! I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for a solid fated mates story. I can’t wait to see what comes next and I’m hoping that it’s going to be a spin off from this one! Thank you S. Lexi for allowing me to arc read!
This is a well-done shifter book. (spoilers ahead) The FMC (Sophia) is a strong character. She's not some weak person who caves at the feet of men. She's an Alpha. The MMC (Rider) is also an Alpha but he thinks women shouldn't be Alphas. He is hopeful for the day he meets his mate and he wants a submissive woman. HAHA. The Goddess laughed at him because you just knew Sophie was his mate.
Sophia and Rider have always known each other and hate each other. This is a true enemies-to-lovers book. They haven't seen each other in two years, but they have to reunite to work together and figure out what is going on with the rogues. The chemistry they now have with each other is spicy. You could feel the hate/lust rolling off the pages between these two. Rider is not into vanilla spice either.
This is also a rejected mate book because they eventually reject each other. Rider wants Sophia to submit, and Sophia is like, "Fuck no." Rider will have to dig deep and figure out what he wants in life. He will have to grovel to win her back. He will have to submit to win her back which is what he does. SURPRISE> Then they mark each other and the Goddess blesses them both with the royal mark.
The epilogue was great too. It takes place 15 years in the future. It introduces you to their 3 kids. I so hope the author decides to make future books with the kids as grownups.

Was such a great read! I fell in love with them both, Rider and Sophia are both strong and stubborn which makes for some awesome banter.😜
There is lots twists and turns that keep you wanting more...😱
There is definitely spice in this book🥵🥵
If you like strong characters, great plot, laugh out loud moments, suspense, and of course romance this book is definitely for you.💕
Two strong and fiercely independent characters Ryder and Sophia overcome many obstacles to establishing a relationship.🌹💕
Battles are fought amongst each other and insidious villains along the way to keep them apart. I definitely enjoyed this from beginning to end. I highly recommend it. Go check it out you won't be disappointed. 10/10. 🙂
I had read her first book of this series "The Alpha's Fiesty Mate", the book was Amazingly well written in all aspects. I thought that the second book "Alpha VS Alpha" couldn't be better than the first one But boy was I wrong!! This book really out shined the first one, the two main Leads have great chemistry including the supporting characters. Get ready to read the FL & ML headbutt each other for power struggle which leads to sexual tensions between them, they will make you laugh your bum off, cry your eyes out (keep the Kleenex box close), make you get angry & frustrated at the same time so Buckle Up as this book will take you on a roller coaster ride from start to end. S. Lexi does a great job of explaining and detailing throughout the book. It would be a good introductory book into the shifter world because of the details provided, but it doesn't make it boring for an experienced shifter reader like myself. This is not your typical shifter romance though. It has a strong female main character, but also a strong male main character. I love the "enemies to lovers" trope. It has spice (oh boy at the spice!), but it's not every chapter, so it's enough that has you wondering when the next will be. There is so much humor, and it's very easy to relate to the characters. It is a well balanced book anywhere from war, conflict, lust, love, and doubt. This is definitely one of my favorite reads!
Book review! Book: Alpha VS Alpha Author: S. Lexi Rate: 5/5 🌟 4.5/5🌶️ Genre: Dark paranormal romance, shapeshifters, Werewolf & Shifter Romance
Man I love shapeshifter novels!!! Please make sure you read tigger warnings!!! This one is not like your typical shapeshifter novel!!! There is some sexual scenes, violence and much more so be prepared!!!! I got sucked in immediately when I started reading this book!!! Sophia & Rider are two strong alphas that get trained since they were young to eventually take over their own packs when they get older… but little did they know what the moon-goddess has decided to set them up as mates!!! Man I totally recommend this read if you are totally into Spicy dark werewolf romance novels!!!!
I don't even know where to begin. The emotional roller-coaster this book had me on. I was squirming, giggling like a little school girl.😒 screaming. Crying. My heart can't take it. Most of the time I was " nooo. Nooo this can't be" then happiness, then heartbreak all over again. I love books with strong female leads. But I must admit. I didn't really like Sophia at first, her blatant dis respect and pettiness aggravated my life. But then I grew to love her. I loved rider from thr very beginning, typical male lead who didn't know how to communicate, until it was too late.
When I seen the words "the end" at the bottom of the page, I didn't even want to finish , because I didn't want the book to end. It was absolutely amazing. And I highly recommend it to everyone.
This was my first fantasy-esque book I have read recently and had vampires, witches and werewolves in it. I really enjoyed the fantasy aspect of it; it was simple but enough to keep you interested in the different kinds. I wish the vampires and witches were maybe explained more and we got to see them more (but it is a book about werewolves so of course they would be the start of the book) Rider and Sophia’s story is cute and simple. It’s a enemies to lovers and is a cute book overall. Their are a few spicy scenes but nothing crazy. This book was nice and easy to read; just felt it was a little long. It was wrapped in a nice ending and the main characters were just as fun and interesting to me as the main couple.
This book is amazingly written. I fell in love with Sophia and Rider’s story. I always like a sassy, strong female lead. And who doesn’t love a possessive male? Rider can certainly be a nutjob from time to time but luckily Sophia knows how to put him in his place.
The way Lexi writes just pulls you in and lets you experiencing all kind of emotions. Every time I thought I knew which way the story would go, it surprised me. This book keeps you guessing and on the edge of your seat!
One warning though, once you start you can’t stop! Its super addicting. Thanks for another amazing book S. Lexi!
Predictably Unpredictable First few chapters are great at defining the werewolf world which can feel a little repetitive if you read a lot werewolf stories (if your new to werewolf stories then it's a great introduction). Having said that the assumptions created from the tittle make this book a funny read. I was laughing nonstop with the predictions going through my mind and was pleasantly surprised/entertained by the twists in this story. The characters are easy to love and hate at times not knowing whose side you agree with and boy do they keep you guessing. Give this story a chance you won't regret it.
I was totally blown away by this book. When originally got it I kind of just looked at the cover and thought oh I’ll get this one for light happy read. But that was not the case! This book has so much depth in my opinion. With the threat of the rogue’s and vampires hanging heavy over the packs two childhood frienemies have to join forces to try and come up with a solution to their problems. But only if they can stop butting heads and fighting about everything. I found myself laughing at rider and Sophie’s interactions on several occasions and at one point o was on the verge of tears. But the plot and spice made up for it
As part of the Alpha Vs Alpha ARC, I was thoroughly impressed with the character development, storyline and how S. Lexi drew me in. The lead characters made you want to hit them for continually butting heads and sabotaging their relationship but hug them at the same time for standing their ground. I found myself rolling my eyes with the female lead and wanting to smack them both upside the head. If I didn't have such a busy week, I would have finished this a lot quicker as the story held my interest.
Looking forward to more great reads from S. Lexi, thank you for including me in your ARC team.
I was very excited to receive an ARC copy of this book having already read the first book. This can be read standalone as elements from the first one are covered. I was happy to find out what Sophia did to Rider on her 5th birthday and it didn’t disappoint. I love a strong female lead and was pleased to see she didn’t become someone different just for the mate bond. S. Lexi has done it again with another fantastic book, cannot wait for the next!
What do you get when you put one hell of a strong stubborn FL alpha and a kind but also determined ML alpha. One hell of a ride to read. With so much funny back and forth bickering between them. Amazing side character were you will get a chance to read there POV. This book is a fantasy werewolf/vampire book with lots of spicy and funny and so intens chapter that you will definitely not put down. Love how this book can let you understand that as one you can be strong but together you can be unstoppable.
If you like strong characters, great plot, laugh out loud moments, suspense, and of course romance this book is definitely for you. Two strong and fiercely independent characters Ryder and Sophia overcome many obstacles to establishing a relationship. Battles are fought amongst each other and insidious villians along the way to keep them apart. I definitely enjoyed this book from the very beginning to the very end and I guarantee you will too as well.
This is the first ARC I had the opportunity to read and I absolutely fell in love with the characters. I do love a strong female lead and I felt like I related to Sophia throughout this book. At times, I wanted to physically shake Rider! I can’t wait to see what S. Lexi has in store for us next. I’m crossing my fingers that it is Rory and Maribel’s story because I desperately want to know more about them!
Amazing book yet again from the amazing S.lexi This book follows Sophia and Rider as they come together to save their families. Both are utterly stubborn and headstrong being alphas and feel like they are just oil & water to each other but when they stop fighting each other in order to fight the bad guys they realise they are fire.
Sophia alone is responsible for her destiny. Strong in will and body, she faces many challenges, including her "fated" love interest. This story navigates attempts (or lack of) to compromise and understand another perspective for love and for power. But! There are outside forces also vying for that power. How will Sophia find happiness?
I really enjoyed this enemies to lovers book. Especially with Sophia and Rider both being strong-willed, stubborn and determined characters, it really drew me in with how they were going to interact with each other as their story progressed. The spice was spicy and banter was witty. Overall it was a great book and I can't wait to read more of the author's work.
The beginning of the story is like most Alpha Werewolf stories. It explains how their world works, you meet the characters. And then she sucks you into the book. You can't stop reading. Absolutely love this story. Thank you for allowing me to be a ARC reader. If you decide to read this you won't be disappointed.
Absolutely loved this book 🩷 the growth both of them go through to find themselves and find balance is amazing. It's not just a sappy love story, it's 2 forces of nature trying to find middle ground to be able to serve each other and their people to the best of their ability, the sexy time though... Really kinky!! I've read it twice already and enjoyed every page.
I loved this book. The story of a guy that starts of a bit chauvinistic and head strong going up against a girl that is stubborn and strong willed. They are the perfect description of the unstoppable force meeting the unmovable object. You feel like you are there with them to watch them grow, compromise and mature. Check out Alpha vs Alpha and you won’t be disappointed in Sofia & Rider’s story.
Absolutely loved this book. The storyline was gripping and the characters and scenes were 🥵🔥 there was just the right amount of comedy and tense parts. Some chapters were absolute nail biters that had me on the edge of my seat. The ending sweet too and was perfect for the story. Definitely worth a read.
This book is fabtastic the characters are amazing the storyline has everything you could want, S.Lexi is becoming my firm favourite author so far her books keep you gripped till the end I would recommend this book too anyone who loves werewolves and true love stories 😊
Great book! I fell in love with the characters, Rider and Sophia are both strong and stubborn which makes for some awesome banter. The twists and turns come and just the right places to keep you wanting more. There is definitely spice in this book.
