ATHENA MONROE is a struggling author who has just come out of a relationship. RYDER PIERCE is a billionaire who is used to getting what he wants. But when Athena comes into his life, everything changes. Soon, the troubled Athena realizes that Ryder will stop at nothing to get her.
I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. Now usually I stick to my norm of YA books, but made an exception by this up and coming author. When I started reading this book, I thought I knew what I was getting myself into, I didn't. This book defiantly exceeded my expectations and continually shocked me. There were numerous twists that I was not expecting. This book was very well written and had me getting all hot and bothered while reading it. As far as romance goes there is something for everyone. Sweet, sexy, fiery, bondage and a little roughness. But hidden amongst all of that, is a great story. Athena starts off as a young naive girl who is basically a doormat the her jerk fiancé but she outgrows that life and like a Phoenix, rises from the ashes, so to say. The author describes her change in attitude perfectly. I loved watching Athena come into her own. Ryder was how you say....HOTT!!! You could fry an egg on that one ;) despite his few little flaws he is a great character for the role. I am eagerly awaiting book two because of that giant twist, then the book ending @_@ definitely an author to watch out for. I would recommend this book to romance lovers who like a wild streak.
I am left speecless and Wanting more!!! Oh yes defenitely MORE!!!! I was given the opportunity to read Bound and I am still living in my Ryder fantasy LoL. Athena who is engaged to Nick find him making love to another woman and decides she had enough. She walked out!!! She feels lost, sad and angry! After alll the years they have been together she finally tells herself this is for the best. Then she hears someone call out to her. She turns around looking at a pair of big blue eyes staring back at her.
He offers to buy her a drink, but she declines, then he has the nerve to tell her “Then perhaps you can buy me one.”
Is he for real?
And this is the first time she gets to meet Ryder Pearce.. And this is all Im gonna share as I know you will be intruiged to find out what happens next!!! And I can tell you this much. Ryder Pierce has his faults and past just like everyone else, but damn if he isnt one gorgeous man that only want to be loved for who he is!!! And he wants Athena to be the one. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoyes reading a great book and glad to share there will be more!!! Thanks to this amazing author for being so amazing and woman You Rocked my World with Bound and Ryder Pearce. Do not miss out on readign this book as you are defenitely MISSING out on alot!!!!!
Athena Monroe is in pieces. She has just walked in on her boyfriend in bed with someone else! As she cries on the street someone approaches her to check she is ok. Enter Ryder Pearce - gorgeous, fit and, as she discovers later, rich!
Against her better judgement Athena allows Ryder to buy her a drink. The next day a chauffeur driven car arrives with instructions from the driver to bring her for brunch with Ryder. She declines and thinks nothing more of it.
Athena moves her life on, securing a new job as her job as an author doesn't tend to bring in a lot of money. On her first day she discovers her new boss is none other than Ryder Pearce.
Pearce is obviously attracted to Athena, and he pursues her. Athena eventually relents and begins to let him get closer. But then she discovers a few things which could shatter their fledgling relationship. Pearce is so smooth, he has a reason and excuse for everything he does. Will he be able to talk Athena round though? Has he gone too far in his pursuit of her? Only time will tell.
This is quite a short story, but it covers a lot within its pages. The relationship between the main characters is intense to say the least. The author has written a good short story which kept my attention well. There were a few parts which I thought were unnecessary, the story could have done without it and been the same, but there is always a reason for certain chapters I guess. All in all a good read. I am interested to see what the author has in store for these characters as I believe she has a sequel planned.
This book begins with one seriously messed up and insecure woman by the name of Athena. Athena found her fiance in bed yet again with another woman. So she walks out! GOOD FOR HER! Once she is out, she has no clue what to do or where to go, so standing on the street she winds up meeting Ryder. Gorgeous Blue Eyes and he seems interested in her. Why I have NO CLUE! I personally found Athena to be just so lame for the first few chapters, so full of self-doubt, angry and basically totally lost.
BUT she does get better, and for a short book shows some nice growth. She does pull her act together, and I won't say what happens with Ryder or with that fiance. I will say that the relationship is relatively intense. Ryder has issues all of his own that he needs to overcome. And Athena really is pretty insecure and messed up emotionally and mentally when this book begins so there has to be real growth for her.
For a first time Author, I have to say she did a wonderful job. I will say that while I liked this book, I didn't fall in love with it. Personally I didn't fall in love with Ryder or for that matter Athena. There also wasn't much in the way of secondary character interactions. And considering this is a romance novel the sex scenes seemed very short and I wish they were a bit more detailed. This being said the story itself kept my attention and kept me flipping pages to see what happens with Athena. All in all, this book is a good read. I give it 3.5 stars, and I am wondering where the Author is going to go next with this series. So I will be reading the next book in this series.
I do have one recommendation for the Author, and it is the most basic of all writing skills to develop. SHOW don't TELL! Show me that the character is angry or sad, don't tell me she is.
If you liked 50 Shades you will probably like this book more than I did. If you didn't then you will probably like it about as much as I did. So you be the judge. Grab yourself a copy and make sure to let me know what you thought!

Athena Monroe has just gotten out of a five year relationship that should have been ended well before now. While standing in the rain trying to decide her next course of action she meets a sexy stranger by the name of Ryder Pierce. Athena tries to move on with her life and get it back on track. She starts a new job and from there her life takes some strange turns. Athena and Ryder start dating and try to make it work despite all the surprises that keep popping up in her life. Will they be able to make a relationship work? Or will secrets and the past keep them from making a life together?
I liked this book but I didn’t fall in love with it. I liked how I could relate to Athena’s relationship reasoning in the beginning. I’m not a big fan of Ryder yet and I didn’t like how Ryder’s actions were dismissed like they were. There wasn’t too much interaction and depth with other characters; it was more of getting to know Athena. I also felt that the sex scenes could have been more detailed emotionally and physically, they were just too short. For me there wasn’t enough action in this book but that may be because of the length. Overall, I think this was a good starter book for this series. I plan on reading the next to find out how this crazy relationship is going to work and what new surprises are to be had.
Athena Monroe has just left her fiancée Nick after catching him in bed with another woman. This isn’t the first time either. Alone and upset in the street looking for a motel for the night she meets Ryder Pearce. He is handsome, successful and by all accounts extremely rich. They talk for a while over coffee and Athena doesn’t expect to see him again. Until after accepting a job offer she finds that he is her new boss. They start a relationship that will change both of them. I really wanted to love this book. It had all the right elements to begin with. A handsome, successful businessman and a heartbroken girl looking for someone to save her. It could have been a beautiful sexy story. Unfortunately there is a scene in a BDSM Club that completely throws this story off course and completely ruins any further character development for me. Without spoiling this for any potential readers all I will say is what happens during that scene I would never have taken their relationship further and the rest seemed unbelievable and rushed after that. The story fell apart for me and the BDSM scenes seemed to be slotted into the book for and added edge but for me they created the story to fall apart. The plot for this book could have been a wonderful developer for a great series unfortunately it wasn’t for me. Copy Supplied For Review.

This all sounded way to 50 shades for me so I was tempted to stop her, but I didnt. We travel through tthe phases of romance and sexuality and find a surprisingly good story. Left me panting for more, but read it to find out to what I am refering to....
This could be a very good story of bravery & eyeopening for heroine Athena & the 2 men in her life. The plot was very slow to develop & confusing but ended with a bang. It is obviously the start of a series but left me a bit unsatisfied. There was only reference to the idea of being "BOUND" in the whole book.
It took me some time to get into this book but I stick with it. It turned out ok in the end & I kinda enjoyed it. I would have liked to have read more about Ryder in the book. I didn't feel there was enough. But from the ending.. book 2 will be a lot better. X
