Freya is determined to sort out her life before she hits thirty--if only to prove to her best friend, Max Thornton, that she's perfectly capable of meeting a suitable man! Freya has the ideal candidate in mind: gorgeous hotshot reporter Dan Freer...
Max isn't impressed--not least because Freya is staying in his penthouse. Freya has always been impulsive, but even Max is surprised when Freya decides to fake her own wedding to claim a honeymoon prize! And who, exactly, is she expecting to walk up the aisle with her?
After a haphazard career spent working and travelling around the world, I stumbled into romance writing as a way to fund a PhD. My first book, A Sweeter Prejudice, came out in 1991, and since then I've written a further 59 books, some of which have won awards in the US and the UK. I live in York, a historic city in the north of England, and waste the best part of my days planning trips away or on Facebook and Twitter, both of which mean that I end up writing late into the night. As well as romance, I write 'time slips' as Pamela Hartshorne, and am a freelance project editor and occasional writing tutor.
In May 2013 I will publishing the Jessica Hart Vintage Collection of five of my early books from the 90s. For news of forthcoming books and exclusive offers, do sign up for my newsletter: email jessica@jessicahart.co.uk or come and find me on Facebook.
wow, who still remembers these novels? lol my best friend in the sixth grade gave me this one to read, and I can still remember that I read it on snowy day next to the window haha
The h is best friends with the H’s sister. The H works in Africa and for the time being the h lives in the H’s house. Although the H comes back from Africa, the h continues to live there. So they live together in his house. They once had a one night stand 6 years before.
The h thinks she wants to have a wild romance with a journalist who also works in Africa. The H knows the h finds that journalist amazing.
One day the h sees a prize winning contest in a wedding magazine. The prize is two tickets to Africa for newly weds. The h pretends she is going to marry the H to win the tickets, so she can go to Africa to be with the journalist.
This book was so enjoyable. I have been reading Harlequin novels for at least 35 years. I can’t remember ever laughing so much reading a Harlequin.
The h and H are also very likable. For me that is a wonderful exception. Most of the times I just dislike the h because she is so stupid and naive. This h has a great sense of humour.
There are no hot sex scenes in this novel. But it is so crazy and funny. Higly recommend.
