Roan Black is doing an excellent job on this series. I feel that each and every volume continues to show growth in not only the art but also the story telling. This is the very first volume in which I felt they did not do a great summary of past volumes and so I would say not to start at this volume but at minimum go back to volume 4 if you are entering this series. The gang find themselves suddenly transported to an icy world unknown to them. With languages to overcome as well as new hidden secrets to uncover the Guardians have their manes full of problems to solve and mysteries to unravel. I think this is another great addition to the series and my 9-year-old daughter loves them!

The quest and search for the powerful and mysterious yearling contines. The herd finds themselves side tracked when their map is partially destroyed and helps a herd from the frost realm recuse friends from a living mountain.
