With a blend of personal narrative, expert advice, and a touch of hope, Knight invites readers into her world where fear, confusion, and desperation reign as her daughter grapples with unexplained anxiety.

Knight, a seasoned parenting educator and mindfulness advocate, finds herself thrust into a realm of uncertainty when her daughter's distress defies all conventional wisdom. Through sleepless nights and exhaustive research, Knight navigates a labyrinth of medical consultations until a ray of hope appears in the form of a functional medicine doctor. Before I read “The Toxic Mold Solution,” I had NO IDEA how prevalent mold was in daily life and how insidious and truly toxic it can be. The scenarios I pictured it in—inside my bathroom walls, pipes, and maybe an air vent or two—are miniscule in comparison to where we can actually find mold in everyday life. And it’s absolutely frightening to think about all the horrible things mold exposure can do to our systems—and all the diseases/conditions the symptoms can mimic.

An estimated ten million Americans suffer from mold toxicity. Ten million! The symptoms, which range from anxiety and depression to asthma, migraines, intestinal issues, rashes, and hives, are so often blamed on other medical conditions, and sufferers never get the relief they desperately need. Right out the gate, the author does acknowledge that many sufferers of those conditions do not have mold toxicity, but she does offer it as a possibility—and I appreciate her arming her readers with the best tool at their disposal: knowledge. I had no idea mold could cause those kinds of symptoms, and this book allows people to at least become aware that it’s a real problem.

The author’s personal experiences with mold toxicity make her tone not just informative but empathetic. As someone who’s been through it, she doesn’t lecture the reader or drone on and on with indecipherable medical jargon. She backs up her words with references, but her stories are approachable and relatable, and she offers real-world advice that doesn’t feel overwhelming (despite the seriousness of the subject matter). The idea of mold almost seems harmless—something about it begs not to be taken seriously, but “The Toxic Mold Solution” does such a great job of shining a light on a very under-discussed topic. I hope more people pick this up and arm themselves with the knowledge provided within—it might end up making them feel better in more ways than they can imagine!

“The Toxic Mold Solution” is a fantastic book that brings to light a topic that is not widely discussed (but should be): mold toxicity. The author shares her research and insight into this problem beginning with her personal experience when she and her family were all found to have mold in their bodies. After the light was shed, she discovered just how much toxic mold had affected them physically and mentally.

The book starts with the author’s story, detailing her first exposure to toxic mold years ago and then the most recent situation when mold was found in their home, going into all the symptoms associated with exposure. The next section is packed with information on how to have your home and body tested. This was especially helpful, as I had no clue where to start. The last section of the book deals with the process of healing the body and mind after toxic mold exposure.

Not only is the book full of helpful information, but the author adds case studies, tools for support, and even journal prompts to help you really think through the subject. While mold is not easily expelled from the body, she reassures the reader that with the right medications, supplements, diet, etc., one can start down the path toward feeling strong and healthy and healing their body from this toxin!

If you’re experiencing odd symptoms that doctors can’t quite put their finger on, it’s possible you’re experiencing mold toxicity. Mold is everywhere, particularly if you live in the southern U.S., and it’s scary because you can’t always see it in your home or workplace. The truth is, not everyone is affected by mold adversely. But some people, like Laura Linn Knight and her family, do experience mold toxicity—and it’s really frightening. This book walks the reader through Knight’s health journey as she learned how sensitivities to mold wreaked all kinds of havoc on both her health and that of her daughter. This book is part memoir, part self-help book designed to help educate, empower, and encourage people sensitive to mold. Knight’s writing is approachable and common-sense—I like how she includes checklists, opportunities for journaling and reflection, and encouragement to find the positive in a negative situation. The book is chock-full of ideas and good research that she shares to help people who are at their wit’s end. From having your home tested to your body tested, she walks you through the first steps to identify the problem and begin putting solutions in place. This is an inspirational and enlightening book that will help anyone navigating the confusing and frustrating world of toxic mold.

Laura Linn Knight has written a comprehensive guide (The Toxic Mold Solution) to understanding toxic mold and the health (physical and mental) risks that accompany mold. I think you hear about mold, but you don't often think about it. You know that mold can be dangerous, but we don't look at it in the same way that we look at other dangerous things in our world. Out of sight is out of mind. But mold is dangerous and we should pay more attention to what is growing in and around us.

Knight wrote this guide because she has been personally affected by mold toxicity, and her goal is to help others to avoid those mold-related illnesses. I really appreciated the fact that Knight focused not only on the physical symptoms associated with mold toxicity, but also with the psychological symptoms. I know that I only think about the physical issues. It had never occurred to me that mold could have a psychological affect on a person.

Knight also gives detailed information on how to screen your home (and yourself) for mold. The author reminds us multiple times that she is not a doctor, but I appreciate the fact that she has done a HUGE amount of research on this topic. If you think that you might have a mold issue, definitely check out this book!

As someone who has struggled with black mold growing in my dorm (I go to college in the UK, and the old buildings and rainy climate make mold a constant issue), I found this book an excellent wake-up call to its dangers and the need to keep tabs on any drops in my health that might signal its return. I appreciated that though this book is a compendium of research, breaking down the different types of mold, where it is most common, the conditions that cause its growth, symptoms, treatments, case studies, etc., it does not read like a manual but a series of personal stories. The author speaks directly to the audience, chronicling her and her family’s experiences (mold-induced anxiety, digestive issues, fatigue, etc.) from a place of sympathy, from the place of someone sharing tried and tested methods (the tip that most stood out to me was regulating your food intake, specifically your histamine intake, to see if foods that normally help your body are starting to take the opposite effect). Overall, this book helped me recognize mold as the danger that it is but worry less about, knowing how to identify it and rid it from my home and body, for which I am incredibly grateful.

This book is about the toxic mold that secretly hides within the depths of the walls that surrounds us as we live and breath within it. How one child’s suffering uncovered the toxic secret that lay within the family’s bodies and was unknown to them. Some molds aren’t really harmful to us but ultimately the black molds that are so extremely toxic to the human body, it can cause physical and mental health problems. These health problems can show up as simple as a headache or food allergies but then appear as something worse and then you might get misdiagnosed as something entirely unrelated to mold. You may not think that some health problems such as intestinal problems, migraines, infertility issues and anxiety as related to mold exposure, but it is more possible than you may know. Black mold can hide in very small spaces or in the drywall material that our homes are made from. Older or even new homes should be tested for traces of mold if these health problems exist in the life. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has health problems and may need help to finding a solution.

When I bought a house, my realtor told me I could add a mold inspection onto the normal inspection that precedes closing but that no one ever chooses to add it. Boy was I ever surprised to hear that! I’ve always been sensitive to mold, and I had a deep suspicion that I wasn’t alone in that.

In THE TOXIC MOLD SOLUTION, author Laura Linn Knight confirms that suspicion. She expertly breaks down what mold toxicity is and what to do about it. Her lived experiences – and those of her family – are at the heart of this book, and their stories are nightmarish to say the least. But they’re also empowering. Yes, she says, we went through this, but you don’t have to. Here are the steps you need to take.

Needless to say I was glad to shell out the extra cash for a thorough – and, in my opinion, totally necessary – inspection. That isn’t the end of my mold journey though. This book has helped me to be more aware of the presence of mold, in my environment and in my body, so that I can take action when needed.

The Toxic Mold Solution: A Comprehensive Guide to Healing Your Home and Body from Mold by Laura Linn Knight is a great resource for someone looking at possible solutions to a mold manifestation in their house or body. She provides clear symptoms and stories of individuals and families who have experienced a range of health issues from mold in their homes or workplaces. The mold doesn't even have to be from a current home or workplace. She informs us that it sometimes does not go away from our bodies even if we change homes. Laura Linn provides a possible list of symptoms from mold exposure. You may want to get tested for mold toxicity. She provides ways to not panic once you find positive results. This is a great book to keep and refer to along your health or homestead journey. There are specific links and readings to gain more information, more specific tests to give in your house, and what to request. I will be using this to move forward in a personal journey that may be from mold.

Topics like these are a new found interest of mine. My husband has been battling with what we believe to be a mold related illness. Whenever we are in certain locations that mold is likely to be present he starts exhibiting all kinds of symptoms. While nothing long term, to our knowledge, has started with his general health we are still aware of places to avoid.
I found this book to be very informative yet very easy to read. The author does a great job of relating to the reader with personal stories. She has a done a lot of research and the collection of information is a wonderful resource.
If you or someone you love is struggling with a mold illness or even something yet to be diagnosed this may be an eye opening book to read.
I would highly recommend checking this out, it could provide answers that you would have never thought about!
