--

EN We're still in the Shibuya Incident.

The action doesn’t let up — it’s nonstop battles.
Throughout the volume, we follow several intense clashes between the sorcerers and the cursed spirits, each with its own standout moment.

This volume was another epic one, we open up with Naobito, Maki and Nanami getting ready to fight this new cursed spirit Dagon and he can control sea and sea life, and uses domain expansion to transport them all somewhere else and while they are battling, they see the difference in their power. He is super strong until Fushiguro comes to the rescue and while he makes a plan for them to escape by opening a hole in the domain, Ze'nin Touji appears and he kills dagon using such speed and then battles the sorcerers, and it was such an emotional fight between father and son and we have a flashback showing Touji and his son in childhood and when he confirms its his son and his power level, he kills himself. That one was such an emotional gut punch, you see the fathers love for the kid and in other place, Jougo is feeding Yuuji 10 Sukuna fingers in order to revive him and he kinda does and you see the difference in their power. Sukuna just won't bend to anyones will and he has a fight with Jougo and its insane, while the whole of Shibuya is collapsing.

The stakes are getting higher, the action on a whole new level, emotional gut punches here and there and the art just too damn gorgeous. AND the writing too good. I am loving how this is turning to be the best arc of 2020 in Shonen Jump!

(1) I read this volume in the library I'm so thankful for that!!!

(2) I love the book cover!!!

(3) But...poor everyone. T_T

(4) Jogo's boss fight is amazing! Plus I'm glad Panda also shows up!

(5) Plus some certain thing happens...does this mean Sukuna only plans to in Shibuya!?

(4) When Jogo suggests Sukuna make an oath with Yuji in order to take control of the latter's body forever, Sukuna says OMG what can this mean!!!!???

(5) Now I notice Megumi seems to have a thing for sisterly girls (e.g. Maki). XD

(6) I really really like Panda and Co.'s encounter with Sukuna!!!!! So much love! (not in the story, though!)

(7) What an ending! I can't wait to read the next volume!!!!

I've come to the conclusion that even if I see a spoiler it won't affect me, I knew what was coming and yet it was unfair for

the number one issue with manga is the art, especially the fight scenes, I always enjoy them but with manga, I think they are not drawn clearly and I don't know who is hitting who! maybe that is just me but it makes me not enjoy them and they get less effective. sometimes the art looks like they are dodging a blade or a bullet but then it's not! they actually get hit, which is confusing to me but anyways the covers are stunning!!!

Megumi, Nanami, Inukami are my favorite characters and if anything happens to them..... meh it's okay I'm used to it. But, they are on fire!

So many breathtaking moments in only one volume! So much happening at the same time, yet everything makes perfect sense. The level of control Gege-sensei has, storytelling/character-wise... is enviable

geto and his daughters!!! its so sad that they died just because they wanted peace for the man that raised them.
it bothered me so bad that manami told nanako to stop being childish, as if her parental figures body wasn’t being paraded around and used like a puppet. even though kenjaku technically was achieving geto’s goal of killing all non-sorcerers doesn’t mean his legacy shouldn’t be preserved and left alone.
and geto calling gojo his best friend in past tense is so much more upsetting when you know that he assumed gojo hated him for what he did.
“satoru gojo is master geto’s one and only best friend, after all.”

Sukuna and his flare for the dramatic is always super entertaining. I just know he’s gonna shake things up in Shibuya.
I also loved the way Toji’s character arc was wrapped up. Megumi deserves the world, so seeing his father (in spite of how uncaring he may be) visibly approve of the name he chose?? Too good.

This was good but sometimes it’s hard to keep up with the entire fighting sequence via the panels and clarity of the illustrations. Can’t wait to see this arc in the anime - and no, the Shibuya arc is not finished yet.

"Aunque me cueste la vida... No pienso dejarlos tirados."

“Fighting solely on instincts. A puppet of carnage. Baring his fangs at the strongest around.”

How do I even begin to express what this volume did to me? Really, the only way I can do it is by saying that it totally destroyed me.

I came to this volume being confused, the ending of the previous installment in the series was intense but a bit weird. I didn't quite know what we were gonna have happening here. The complete change in perspective was really nice to get the story moving. Or, more accurately, see the bigger picture.

Everything happening here is a constant crescendo of intensity, pain, and dread to which I don't see how they're gonna bring an end to.

“Our souls will continue to circulate regardless of humanity’s fate. We’ll meet again in the wastelands one hundred years from now.”

The fights were beyond crazy and amazing.

So much fun to see, really. Playing to their strengths and their growing abilities. Well, I was completely hooked.

Not only were the fights great but also seeing all the details connecting and how all the cogs in the machine move and interconnected is fascinating. It all feels, well, like a very well-executed plan that we are just trying to play catch up to. By which I mean, that it totally delivers to the image and idea we were meant to have of this plan.

Honestly, it all just makes me even more nervous.

“The one who couldn’t fully leave behind that curse. They would all bear witness to the bare flesh of the one who is free. To the one who left it all behind! And his overwhelming intensity!!”

I would be lying if I said I didn't cry while reading this volume. Because I did. Like, the whole time I was reading.

Just, the sheer immensity and dread and freezing feeling had me on the edge all the time and when the barest of things happened I found myself pouring my eyes out. I don't cry easily while reading manga, so it really is a feat that this volume accomplished that.

The ending, as messed-up as it was, is really exhilarating and soul-crushing. Mostly because we get to really see something that we have been promised for a long time but never really had seen delivered. It's horrible, yes, but also ends that sense of promise-unfulfilled that was there, beating quietly, on the back of my mind all this time.

“Get ready. Let’s have a fire-power battle.”

____________

*Screams unendingly into the void*

This volume is pure pain and it destroyed me in so many different ways. At this point, I don't think I have the mental stability left to deal with the rest of this accursed arc.

I'll need a while to pick my jaw from the floor, as well, since this was shock after shock after shock and I still cannot wrap my head around a lot of it.

Honestly, I just need a minute. Or maybe a century after finishing this volume.

RTC.
____________

Okay, there are a couple of things that are making me severely apprehensive about this volume, such as the fact that this volume is listed as horror - which is not something I would really call the series in general - and someone mentioning Sukuna in the reviews, as well as the fact that things did not end all too pretty in the last volume.

True, I may be apprehensive but I am also excited. I've found that I'm growing more and more excited the longer this whole arc extends which makes me think there's something wrong with my sense of danger lately but, oh well.

Either way, I'm glad to be reading it.
