After I left for college, I thought I’d never see Eden again. But I found myself headed back four years later, destitute and unable to find a job anywhere else. Still, I was adamant nothing would keep me there for long.
Then I met the intoxicating Dax Allard. Copper-colored eyes, skin that emanated an exceptional heat, and a host of strange talents… It wasn't long before I was drunk on him.
But Dax’s past was darker than mine, teeming with ancient secrets. Falling for him could cost me my life.
I had two choices: walk away or deal with the perilous consequences.
It was no choice at all.
This is the first episode of a serial novel, and runs around 50 pages or 12,000 words.
A huge fan of spooky stuff and shoes, S.K. Falls enjoys alternately hitting up the outlet malls and historic graveyards in Charleston, SC where she lives and imbibes coffee. Her husband and two small children seem not to mind when she hastily scribbles novel lines on stray limbs in the absence of notepads.
Since no writer’s biography is complete without mention of her menagerie of animals, you should know she has one dog that doubles as a footstool, a second that functions as a vacuum cleaner, and a cat that ensures she never forgets that her hands are, first and foremost, for pouring cat food.
I decided to make a review for each episode, so I’ll start with Possession. Because the episode hasn’t had only 50 pages, my review will be a mini-review. The story is about Cara, a girl who came back in Eden to find a job. She had an interview at Dax Allard's company, but Dax didn't give her the job from the first time. In Eden were happening strange things and Cara almost died because of them. But Dax saved her and he isn't what he seems. So much sexual tension in this episode... The attraction between Dax and Cara was destructive. Every time they have seen each other, sparks came out. That tension was consuming. But then Cara found out something not so...human. I liked this episode and it's a promising beginning :)
Wow, it was helluva boring! I wasn't able to conect with characters because there was not enought time for it. Insta-love is not really for me, I really don't like and here is not even any reason for it (I'm not taking that he is demon so she is attracted by him naturally or whatever). Not much story behind characters or anything at all. People here acts very stupidly, I mean they didn't even notice that Dax is so mysterious and weird? This would definately bring some huge attention in normal world! But here and there was some interesting ideas and good premise so I'm going for full Fevered soul 1 waiting what would happen next.
I'm going to give this three stars...its interesting, I like the perspective, but its very, very short. There are at least four of them...Its kind of frustrating to have to spend 99 cents for like 80 pages. If they were combined, I would love it I'm sure. I don't know, I don't really usually do the demon thing, but I liked this well enough.
Enjoyable quick read, although not sure whether I'm hooked enough to finish the series. I liked the build up between Cara and Dax, but didn't fully warm to their characters, and I felt the story itself was quite rushed.
Very slow Masterpiece Theater open; really Masterpiece Mystery opening. I'm annoyed at the instalove, but I'm fascinated with where I think this is going. Demons.
