The Duck Commander Devotional by Alan Robertson is one of the finest devotionals I have seen. Rich in content and elaborately designed to have a pleasing look with a short inspiring message supplemented by a passage from the Scripture, and a prayer, this unique devotional comes from the stars of Duck Dynasty, although the compiler Alan Robertson is the only one who isn't on the Duck Dynasty® show yet.

A perfect gift for all occasions, this 365-day devotional published by Howard Books (October, 2013) will help and inspire you in your faith-walk and you will be blessed by the journey.

My family loved doing this devotional together. There is one for every day of the year and my kids would take turns reading it to the family. I did notice some slight editing flaws, but overall it was great. I would recommend it to any family.

Each page is divided into three parts: a verse or two of scripture, a reflection by one of the family, a prayer.

On almost every page the reflection is the largest part. These reflections are wretched. Every poor and at times detrimental theology. Many were just focused on the family.

The prayers were just ok at best, and asinine at worst.

This book is going into the trash.

This is totally not an un-biased review. This is probably my fifth or sixth Robertson book and I've loved them all. I'm also a huge Duck Dynasty fan. So I pretty much knew I'd like the devotional before I even started it. :)

The Duck Commander Devotional lived up to and surpassed my already high expectations. I just love that this whole family is willing to live their faith out loud, and yet they never feel "preachy." The Robertsons just continually point to God in every action. They are definitely a family to aspire to be like.

In the Devotional, each day starts with a Bible verse, is followed by a family member's thoughts on that verse and it's application to their life, and ends with a heartfelt prayer for God to move in their/your life. The family members take it in turn to write the devotional for each day, so you get some written by Phil, some by Alan, some by Willie, etc. The Robertson ladies contribute too. And here's where I got a little surprise: some of the older Robertson kids contributed too! What a great example that is for young folk. They're just as well-spoken as their parents. I recommended this book to a relative who has a 10 year old Duck Dynasty fan. I also went out and bought the book for N. It's a good recommendation when I go out and buy a book when I've already read the library's copy!

This is truly a great devotional for a young Christian or an older Christian who hasn't been maturing spiritually, or who has been stuck in a rut. I read it straight through, as I checked it out from the library, but I took my time, and could feel God's influence on me. I loved hearing aspects of the gospel from the points of view of all of the family members. Whereas I don't always get fellowship with mature Christians as much as I would like, I felt like I experienced a bit of fellowship with the Robertsons as I read and it helped to build me up. There is variety in their backgrounds and it helps to know where others who may have been in similar circumstances have journeyed in their walks with Christ. There is humbleness, there is transparency, and there is praise to the Lord for the blessings they have received from their obedience to the Lord God, along with prayers to Him in thanks. The prayers from the Robertsons and friends are demonstrative for people who struggle in their prayer lives, and therefore their relationships with God.

My husband picked this up for me just before Thanksgiving, knowing how much I love the Lord, the Robertson family, and the color pink.

Pink camo is definitely growing on me.

Each day of this unique devotional begins with a Scripture, has a short snippet of why it's important to that particular Robertson family member, and then a prayer written by *fill in the blank*.

I should add that while almost all of the daily devotionals are written by a Robertson family member, there are days where you read something from Mountain Man, Godwin, Martin, several Robertson family members that we have yet to meet on the show {Al, his wife, and their daughters and spouses}, and Lynda, the receptionist.

Their love for the Written Word, God the Father, His Son, and the Holy Ghost is beautifully written over the pages of this devotional.

I love that this devotional is purse-sized and will be a favorite for years to come.

This book is a great, understandable devotional book. Everyday (365 days) there is a different devotion. Each day teaches you a new powerful verse from the bible and gives a understandable reason and summary. Each day a different person from Duck Dynasty will do the summary and the summary of the verse relates to a real life situation.
I absolutely hate to red, but this was a book i connected with. I did not read just one devotion a day. I read the whole book in about two months. This book was very easy for me to connect to because i love being outdoors and most of the devotions related to me in my life situations. It as almost as if each day i read it helped me become more satisfied and thankful for my life.
The only things i didn't like about this book is that it was a yearly book. I like to read the book and be done in about a week or so. Overall i loves this book and recommend it to anyone who is looking to bring god closer to them.

I was so impressed with this devotional book. Set up to be a once-a-day reading companion, there are contributions here from the oldest of the Duck Dynasty clan to some of the youngest, and each one of them are enjoyable and inspirational.

My favorites have to be from Miss Kay - she is so down-to-earth and clearly loves her family so much. It's a delight to read her words of faith. And, of course, the ones from "Uncle" Si are hilarious, but also contain a good message within the humor.

The Robertson's are truly a family who walk the walk and talk the talk of their faith and it is such a pleasure to have gotten to know them a little better through this devotional.

I haven’t listened to the entire audio book but I plan on using this as a daily Devotional for the year 2014. Each day of the year has it’s own Bible verse, a reflection of the verse, and a prayer. Each devotional is very inspirational and most likely you’ll carry it with you throughout the day. The whole DD group was involved in the devotional, so you get a variety of perspectives. This would be good to read/listen to on a daily basis for years to come. It would make a great gift for anyone, including teens.

I loved this book from the moment that I picked it up, gods wisdom mixed with the most inspiring and influencing families the Robertsons. I found this book very easy to use and even got the whole family involved even my 5 yr old girl, my family just can't wait to see what the devotional for the day is going to be. When you combine this with Robertsons family stories it makes for a tremendous guide. I give this book 5 stars and would recommend to anyone at any age trying to get in touch with their higher power read this.

This daily devotional format has the date, a title, the scripture, a small section of life experience or thoughts in reference to the verses, followed by prayer and who submitted it.
Two things: I would have preferred an option to buy this book in KJV only and would have liked it to be more in depth; more meat so to speak.
It may be good for a new Christian, but I found it lacking. Especially following Daily Truth for Godly Youth: For Teens and Adults which I bought at an Amish store, but can be bought online and I'd recommend that one.

Loved reading this devotional with my boys from Duck Dynasty crew. Every day challenged us in our faith. My only concern about this devotional would be the way some of the devotions conveyed how much God had blessed their family and it came across that they were a SPECIAL family. While I am encouraged by their family, it came across as a little prideful. Yes they are a blessing, but other families can be a blessing too.

This is one of the best and most meaningful devotionals I have ever used! So often the readings in other devotionals are not applicable to our busy, everyday lives, but this one was a valuable lesson and thought every day of the year! I want one with new devotions for this year! Is there another one coming out? Thank you for the concise and thoughtful lessons everyday.

Great devotional

This is the first time I've used a daily devotional and I really enjoyed it. There's a little story and a prayer for beach verse that's uniquely styled to each family member. I really enjoyed the entries from Jase and Si the most. I also appreciated the kids' entries as well; it was just neat to read what they had to say.

This devotional is one of the best you will find! It provides great life lessons from personal experiences. This devotional also provides stories from the Robertson's which are very relatable to ones every day life. Also, as one would expect from any Robertson message, there is always a great deal of humor throughout the stories. Overall, this is one of the greatest devotionals out there.

There are some great nuggets of truth in this devotional. I particularly enjoyed reading what Martin and Godwin wrote. Godwin's usually portrayed as comic relief but he had some profound things to say. I appreciated everyone's contribution.

the good thing with devotionals is you don't have to read them once. You can start over again and continue to recieve guuidence, just like the Bible. I won't put this on the shelf and forget it, I will continue to seek guidence from it for years to come.

I have read two other books from the series thing it's not so much of a series, but it's more of a series that tell their story of how they got to where they are overall I would give this book a rating of 4 stars because I love the show and the books and i would read again.

Good family devotions, it is nice to see the more spiritual side of Duck Dynasty. Our family really enjoyed these and moved closer to God because of them. We used to challenge each other on which person did the devotion.

I did read this like a book, instead of a daily devotional. I did like how it had all of the different people's personality in each day's devotion. I only did not like that some days the devotions were so personal that I could not relate. It was a different kind of devotional.

I thought that this was a really great devotional. Each day the thoughts are very concise so it doesn't take very long to read. Each page is written by a different person from the family.
