Being an incubus, Andras is no stranger to want and desire, but the feelings he has for Bren come as a surprise. There’s something about him that pushes all of Andras’ buttons, yet he keeps his feelings close to his chest, longing for Bren to make the first move.
Bren has lived many lifetimes as a phoenix shifter, but during that time, he’s never met anyone quite like Andras. Bren has fallen for his best friend’s brother, but won’t admit it until Andras gives him a sign.
After an accident, Bren is rushed to his nest to regenerate, becoming a younger version of himself. He no longer has his memories and to make matters even more confusing, he’s convinced that Andras is already his mate. Just maybe, this is the catalyst they both needed to finally be together.
Bren is the third and final book in An Incubus’ Mate series. This book features a phoenix shifter falling for his best friend’s brother, amnesia, silly moments, So. Much. Pining, knotty fun, and of course a happily ever after.
Toby Wise is a stay at home parent who hails from a tiny town in Wisconsin. Contrary to popular Wisconsin stereotypes, he’s not a cheese-head who enjoys beer but rather an introvert who spends all his time on the internet, drinking coffee, spending time with his kid, and cooing about his adorable cat, Pikachu.
In April of 2019, A Collection of Strays was born after the world of fanfiction drew him back into his love of writing. Now he’s writing all things omegaverse as long as it includes silly moments and found family.
The 3rd Incubus triplet gets his mate. Bren and Andras have been dancing around their mutual attraction since they met, until an accident changes things. Bren's shifter side is so cool! I love how that was done. Toby packs a lot in this novella making it quick paced along with the trademark sweetness
I adored the whole concept of Bren being a phoenix shifter. Regenerating to a younger version of himself, memories slowly drifting back and an IMPRINT PARTNER! I loved it all.
Andras and Bren did circle around one another a whole lot. That did drive me a bit bonkers. Both felt the pull but both resisted and I wanted to yell at them.
Once they were together it was lovely. This story was incredibly sweet and such a fitting end to the series.
This final book in this series is a good spin on fated mates with a twist. I really enjoyed following along as Andras and Bren's story evolves and leads to their HEA.
Well this was the cutest freaking thing ever! Andras and Bren have been dancing around each other for far too long it seems. Neither one wants to make the first move, which is frustrating because basically that's all that was keeping them apart. It isn't until Bren is "reincarnated" via his phoenix nature that things finally begin to go in a forward direction relationship wise.
Younger Bren was so fun. He didn't have the qualms his former older self did about waiting for the right time. His phoenix knew Andras was his mate and that was good enough for him to go full speed ahead. It was sweet how Andras wanted to make sure this was truly something Bren wanted and not just him clinging to him because his phoenix did at a vulnerable time in his life. I also loved the fact that once a phoenix finds their mate that they can make the decision to grow old together. It really solidified their HEA in the end for me.
“He is mine and I am his through the good and the bad and the fire.” Aww, I’m so glad Andras and Bren finally found their way to each other, a bit stubborn those two. And can I share how happy I am that once Bren is all in, he does knot kid around when it comes to his mate. I’m gonna miss these brothers and their mates. They make my heart happy and are indeed a sweet treat.
Bren is a sweet incubus/phoenix shifter romance with a dose of amnesia, the brother's best friend trope and a good amount of pining between the two. It's also the final book of the series so all three brother's will have their HEA and a wonderful group of people who have become a found family for them. Andras has seen both of his brothers find their mates and is so happy for them but also a tiny bit jealous. However, he has Bren to look on and dream about, and there is the occasional hint that he also feels the same about Andras. He has been attracted to Andras since they first met but is waiting on him to show interest before making a move so as not to push himself on the incubus. It feels like they have several moments of will they, won't they but it's not until Bren is pushed into his regeneration that things change for them. There is a good amount of chemistry between the two men and I enjoyed Bren's sense of humour, unexpected because he is the 'old man' of the group, especially considering the number of times he has moulted. His younger self definitely has a bigger sense of freedom and brings about the change that the two men need but Andras still needs to be sure as phoenix shifters take a while for their memories to return. It's good to be back with this group of supernaturals and how easily they all fit together. You can feel how much they all have come to care for one and other and I am hoping that there is more to come for other characters that we have met. Toby is a fantastic writer, especially when it comes to these shorter, paranormal, found family series. So much is packed into the book and it moves along at a good pace, keeping me entertained and engaged with the relationship between the MC's. I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
One thing you can always count on with Toby's writing is Sweetness. His books are always so sweet and full of fluff and spice. And that's what this book contained as well! Andras has watched both of his brothers find their mates, and while he's happy for them he wonders if he'll ever meet his. He's not sure if Bren is his mate but he knows he's attracted to the older artist. Except an accident occurs and Andras and Bren have to have a discussion about what they are to each other.
I really like this story, I'm always excited to read Toby's books because I know they're going to bring a smile to my face. It's always a guaranteed thing. I liked Bren's character and I adored how much detail went into describing Bren's job and his passion. I love art, so being able to read about a character who is an artist was really cool. And Andras! Oh, sweet, sweet, Andras. He's a chocolate loving demon with a sweet tooth who just wants Bren to make the first move. I loved how communication was key, the two MC's made that a priority which I enjoyed. I also really liked the side characters and how they were a main part of the plot. I really hope Levi gets their own story, their character is so intriguing! Overall a really sweet read!
This is book 3 in The Incubus' Mate series. It can be read as a standalone but you really should read all three books in order. This is the story of Andras and Bren. Andras is a triplet and an incubus. He works at the family candy store. He is kind and shy. He is patiently waitin for his love interest to make the first move. It doesn't help that he is the best friend to one of Andras' brothers. Bren is a a phoenix shifter. Bren is happy with the way his life is. Until he is involved in a serious car accident that causes him to regenerate. He is reborn in a younger form but it takes longer for his memories to return. He mistakenly believes that Andras is his mate. While it is what Andras has hoped for, he refuses to take any action until Bren regains all his memories. This is their story. It was really fun to read about a phoenix shifter. It is not one that I have seen often used and I really enjoyed that. I liked how the relationship between Bren and Andras develops. This is a well written book and very easy to read. I look forward to another book by this author.
I received a free copy of this book from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Bren and Andras were the epitome of overthinking and getting in the way of their own happiness. Each of them was waiting for the other to make an overt declaration of their interest before making their own moves. They flirted subtly but didn’t take that as a declaration. It took a tragedy, which Toby has a way of writing it so that you’re not focused on what happened and merely on the outcome, which led Bren’s Phoenix to go through their rebirth cycle as a younger adult. Now when Phoenix shifters are reborn there’s a time period that they don’t have all their memories and all Bren knew was this feeling that Andras was his!! These two were so sweet and the pining with friendship was done right and I didn’t feel like it was over the top.
This was a fun read and I’m glad our incubi triplets are all mated up!!
Andras and Bren made such a cute couple. What really shone for me though was the fantastic world building around Bren and his regeneration. It was done so well and answered a lot of practical questions around the idea of regeneration (where the shifter doesn’t remember their past life immediately). I will admit feeling more frustrated with these two and their dancing around each other despite there being plenty of evidence they liked each other. I kind of just wanted to yell ‘omg you love each other, just do something about it’ at them. However, once we got beyond their silliness they were so cute. Total fluff and cotton candy loveliness between them and such a good way to end such a sweet series.
I love these incubi triplets! I am kinda sad to see the end but I can’t help but be happy because they all have their HEAs. Andras and Bren have been dancing around each other for a while now but Bren has a secret. He is a Phoenix shifter. When he has to regenerate, he loses his memories temporarily and only knows one thing for sure: he needs to find his mate! Andras gets a bit of a crash course in Phoenix shifters and can’t resist him for long. These guys are so sweet and I loved every word! I know the incubi have all met their mates but I would love to see more in this world. Levi needs his match too!
Final book in this series and it was lovely and a fun read. I'm not a fan of prologues but I enjoyed how the author intertwined all three brothers stories somewhat together. So this most definitely could be a standalone but full enjoyment would be to read the books prior to this one. Andras and Ben connection was instant. It was comical knowing that both had mad feelings but to scary to express them with each other...it takes an accident to pull out their truths. I thought Bren was a hoot before in his old age but a younger Bren is way more hilarious. I enjoyed this immensely and hated to see it end...Loved all the characters.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
This is the third and final book in this series about the triplets and features Bren and Andras. They have both been dancing around each other for a while, refusing to take the first step. When Bren, a phoenix, gets into an accident and regenerates, his first thought was getting to his mate. When he sees Andras again, he is so happy to find him. As they work on getting Brent’s memories back, Andras wants to wait until Bren is sure he wants to mate him. This is a sweet, low angst book featuring 2 stubborn people who finally get together. Would have loved to know more about Levi but Toby might surprise us. Loved this and cannot wait to read more,
First thing, first! I want to say loved all the serie and I was really in hype for this last book. Author-san did not disappoint me! The story was really sweet like the previous two books but at the same time a bit different, tailored exaclty for Andras and Bren. No angst, no drama (except the best kind), sassy banter and fuzzy feelings, and obv and Happy ending, that's what you can expect from this book! It could have been better only if it was longer, but that's my opinion just because when I found a good book I want it to never end. But now I'm hungry for more... like Levi's story. They deserve their love too and I can't wait to see how their beau will swept them off their feet!
I swear only Toby has the gift of writing a sweet story that includes amnesia. Bren & Andras have been attracted to one another from the start, but fears make them not go for it. When Bren loses his memories (Phoenix regeneration), the two get a restart and get together and finally be together and be truly happy. This entire trilogy has just made me smile it's so cute and wholesome while still having high heat times. What a great way to end this trilogy, and crossing fingers we get to see more from this world!
Bren is the 3rd and final book in the An Incubus' Mate series. It could be read as a standalone but I think you would get the most out of the story by reading the books in order. This is Andras an incubus and Bren an older phoenix's story. This is a short sweet low angst book. I loved watching Andras and Bren figure out their feelings for each other. I also loved Toby's take on phoenix regeneration. I hate seeing the end of this series. I hope we get a spinoff of the series to see what happens to some of the triplets friends. I would definitely recommend this book and series.
Andras and Bren's love story is a very sweet, low angst page-turner. They are such likeable people, as are the secondary characters in the book; it was great revisiting the characters I loved from previous books. I enjoyed Toby Wise's writing and world building, as usual. And what a great imagination he has! His conceptualization of phoenix shifters is thorough and, frankly, really cool. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Wonderful I loved this third book in the series as much as I did the first two. Bren and Andras share something magical that could have ended with sadness but only expanded with joy. The Phoenix is one of my favourite mythical creatures so I really enjoyed this too. I love the way these books are so different and instilled with so much imagination. Thankyou Toby Wise, your mind is a joy to explore in your books.
Oh Andras…I think he’s my favorite demon triplet. The angst of the other books was on par in this one but I think this one is the least spicy but the most emotional of the three. Since Bren is a phoenix, I had an idea of where the story was going but when it did, I still panicked a little. Andras and Bren coming back together was amazing! This was a trilogy of sweet and spicy MM romances that I’m glad I read.
I think this is my favorite in the series. I absolutely adore Bren and Andras! They are so cute with the tension build up and then after Bren's regeneration the cuteness doubles and adds the steam. Not to give things away but watching Bren meet everyone again for the first time was hysterical. Crossing fingers Levi gets a story.
I loved this series from the first book, and seeing its ending gives me bittersweet feelings. But this was perfect. Watching Andras and Bren get together was a treat. Seeing them navigate their feelings and growing closer was quite fun. Both versions of Bren are hilarius with his pranks. Waiting for more in this universe please.
I think I liked this one the most. I loved the addition of the phoenix regeneration. I thought that was very original. Again, everything is a bit more fast-paced due to the length of these books, but I felt that it didn't take too much away from the story. I loved Bren from the moment I met him, even though at times I thought his personality to be a bit much. Overall a decent series.
I’m so so so happy to see all three brothers get to sit happy ending. This book felt a little fluffier than book one and two, but it was a wonderful finale for the brothers and it was so lovely seeing the brothers and their mates from the earlier books.
Andras and Bren are attracted to each other but don’t make a move in each other, because Andreas’s brother Damien being best friends with Bren. After Bren has an accident and goes through a rebirth, they finally get together. It’s such a sweet story, ended far too soon!
I really liked this book. 4 out of 5 star rating, 2.5 for spiciness. Bren is a pretty entertaining character, and his impulsiveness despite memory loss was entertaining.
Bren and Andras were so cute together! It took an accident to get these two together. Bren is a triplet who falls for his brother’s best friend and Bren is a Phoenix who regenerates and loses his memory. A wonderful story!
I wasn't sure I was going to like this one because amnesia usually puts me off, but I loved it. Since it's so short it all gets resolved fast and easy and it was adorable. Getting to see monents from the other books through a different lens was fun too! A perfect conclusion.
