I love this series. I love the Secret Seven. And I love when the authors are able to bring events and/or characters from their other series to expand the borders of Diamond Cove just a little bit farther. Grace and Ryker were adorable together. It made my heart pinch every time Ryker fought with himself over whether or not he could have Grace in his life. And, it was wonderful to see Grace show her grandmother a different way to operate, while also learning some valuable lessons from the older generation herself. I may have only just finished reading this book, but already I can’t wait to see what shenanigans the S7 are going to get themselves into next.

A cute and fun addition to this series. I enjoyed the story a great deal. It had a lot of fun and funny moments and the characters and their interactions were so engagingg. The romance was lovely too. There is a little intrigue attached to this story as well. This book is part of a multi-author series focused on a matchmaking group of friends in a retirement community in Diamond Cove. Known as the Secret Seven, these lively seniors scheme to find their grandchildren, and others, love. They are very entertaining and full of interesting ideas. “‘My advice is this: When a woman knows you value her, she will wrestle an alligator for you. When she thinks you don’t value her, she’ll let it eat you.’”
In this case, Nancy was distressed when her granddaughter Grace, a genealogist who traveled often for work, appeared for a visit with an undesirable boyfriend in tow. The Secret Seven set about getting rid of him and capitalizing on the sparks between Grace and Ryker, the retirement community’s barber. What they didn’t know was that Ryker was not at all who he seemed. I appreciated the way the author integrated the translations of the Italian into the narrative in away that made it easy to know what was said without having to constantly use the translation function, and it also wasn’t disruptive. It was fun to see a main character who is a genealogist. Definitely an uncommon profession in novels. “‘Besides, you’re always looking for dead guys. If you searched among the living, you might find something worth hanging on to.’” It was also neat to see so many characters engaged in their family histories. Only a genealogist would describe falling in love this way: “…a part of her felt as though it had found the root her roots wanted to twist up with and grow a family tree.”
The resolution of the romance was sweet and sort of idealistic. I liked it, but I can’t help but question some of the legalities of it. Some other parts of the story are not resolved in this book. It’s not necessarily a huge cliff hanger, but it’s significant for the main characters. My hope when I finished was that this would be part of another book in the series. I have started reading Under Pressure by Ellie Thornton, and I can say that the unresolved matters play a large role in it. As part of this series there is significant carryover of the characters in the Secret Seven, as well as appearances of main characters from other books, and related events. However, each romances can read well as a standalone. There are brief light faith elements in this story. This is a sweet and clean story with mild innuendo and no harsh language.

What a fun story- where a set of matchmakers in The Palms plan on making a match between Grace Matthews and Ryder Rockefeller. Grace's grandmother Nancy is the one instigating the plan as she wants her globe trotting granddaughter to settle down. Grace has degrees in genealogy and has an ear for accents so when she first meets Ryder, she immediately picks up his Islandorian accent and his vibrant green eyes confirm her belief. He denies her claim explaining he is an Italian. What she doesn't know is that she absolutely nailed his heritage but he cannot reveal that he is in hiding.
Grace actually is so accurate that she scares Ryder when she pinpoints where he is from. I swooned throughout this book, Ryker stole my heart with his manners, whit, respect, and yes accent but most of all he had me melting at his romantic antics. I adored Grace free spirit, her passion and her respect, she is just too sweet. Ryker and Grace story had me on the edge of my seat at parts, rooting for them both, and begging for more. I fanned myself many times, cheered, yelled and even melted at their antics and banter. I loved Liam, Mack, Sean, the secret seven, and the animals. Grace is so passionate about her genealogy work; her wandering gypsy spirit finally finds her match in our "dead" Prince. Nancy is desperate and on the edge of a despair when her granddaughter suddenly shows up with the last person she ever expected and turned to her friends to get rid of the surfer they’d once kicked out. The SEALs have their hands full when Ryker falls hard for the new girl in town who is too perceptive and curious. This story is full of suspense, action, danger, mystery, teamwork, funny banter, cute moments, and love. I can’t wait to read what happens next.

The Secret Seven have struck again with another successful matchmaking endeavor. I love matchmakers. This story was fun and I stayed up way too late to finish it in one sitting. I couldn't relate to Grace's free-spirited ways or Ryker's royal and over the top romantic ways but they were perfect together. Ryker's security detail apparently couldn't relate to royal etiquette either and that offered some extra comic relief as did the Secret Seven. I loved just about everything about the book. My ONLY complaint is that I wanted to know what happened next. Where do they go and how long will they be there? Will the treasure be found? Will Ryker ever get to go home? Will the political problems in his homeland be resolved? Inquiring minds want to know. I'd like a sequel to answer all my questions. :)

This is book 8 in multi author series Diamond Cove Romantic Comedy and can easily be read as a standalone. I thought this book was an absolute delight and while I've had the opportunity to read some others (not all) in this series, I can attest that McConnell delights! Well written with real laughs and romance. A sweet rom-com with a prince in hiding and the Secret Seven - oh how I love the Secret Seven and they are at it again! Along with the laughs they bring add in royal etiquette that, lets be real -most no normal person will ever relate to - and the laughs are guaranteed! Perfect storyline and flow with amazing characters I absolutely adored this read and I hope for the opportunity to read more!

What a fun story? A "dead" prince hiding in plain sight and a free spirit with a love of genealogy. Where in the world could those two connect. When a group of elderly residents decide to make a connection happen for one of their loved ones, anything is possible. Grace and Ryder felt an instant connection and it just kept getting stronger and stronger but Ryder had a secret that he couldn't share and in his desire to keep Grace safe, he began to push her away.
This story has romance, intrigue, suspense and lots of kisses. This is book is part of a series and a lot of fun to read. The story is clean and appropriate for anyone who likes a good, romantic story.

Wow, who would not love to fall in love with a real prince? Even when you don't know that is what he is.
Book 8 of the Diamond Cove series is just as great as the rest and wow, what the older people do in this community is amazing. Love the select group who work to bring their grandchildren to the loves they should be in as well as all the other troubles they get into.
Love that there is a prince hiding among them and that he has the protection of his group of seven that not only watch over him but get into some trouble on their own.
I love Lucy's books as they are such down to earth stories and whenever I can recommend them I will be doing so.

Romance and mystery abounded in this new Diamond Cove book. Ryker, a prince in disguise, ended up hiding in Diamond Cove when Nancy's granddaughter, Grace returned to visit her grandmother and brought Stephan who used to be a yoga instructor at The Palms retirement home where Nancy lived. Right away Nancy along with the other Secret Seven matchmakers decided to find a better match for Grace. I enjoyed the sparks, the chemistry, and the wonderful, romantic suspense that followed Ryker and Grace in this fun, romantic comedy. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Ryder is dead and his family attended his funeral. Of course Ryder Rockefeller isn't his real name, (I won't mention why that turned out to be a very unfortunate alias...) and he is very much alive and needs to find the sunken, stolen royal treasure before he can go back home. Pity his rare accent got noticed by a genealogy and 'find the missing family ancestor' expert, never-settling-down Grace - the current focus of the matchmakers! Throw in a protective seal team, the matchmaking secret seven, a deadbeat boyfriend/ex employee and lots of sparks and you have a very fun read. I received an ARC but this review is my own.

OMG-the characters just keep getting more interesting and the stories better!! As the series continues you learn more background information on many of the reoccurring characters along with the grandchildren of the “Secret Seven”. I loved the free spirit of Nancy’s granddaughter Grace, a smart, witty, and super intriguing individual. Ryker, a prince in hiding, is Grace’s perfect counterpart. Another great thing about this series is you can read them as a stand alone, yet it’s been fun to read them in order. I CANNOT WAIT to read more in this series!!.

Ryker needs to stay hidden to protect himself and his family, but Grace is too intuitive from the start picking up on his background from his looks and accent. They are attracted to each other but danger lurks for him. How many times can he push her away to protect her before she doesn’t take him back or she gets caught in the crossfire? I enjoyed reading about how Grace helped others looking into their genealogy. Ryker was swoon worthy with how he treated Grace except for the secrets and ghosting. Their romance escalates quickly. There were too many things still unresolved with the threats against him.

Matchmaking seniors. What would you think of your grandparent & all their friends playing matchmaker. This story follow loosely the antics of Nancy and all her elderly friends fixing up all their single grandchildren without them knowing that they have been set-up. It centers on Nancy’s granddaughter Grace, who come home from Mexico with dreads & a surfer boyfriend to crash on Nancy’s couch. There are several funny side tales in the development of the story in both the younger and the older characters. The description are wonderful pulling you fight into the story. This was a fun twist on the secret identity trope and it was filled with suspenseful moments and delicious romance. I loved the effect that Grace had on her grandmother, ultra-buttoned-up Nancy, who heads up the Secret Seven matchmaking group. It was fun to see Nancy loosen up a bit and get in touch with a side of herself that she had suppressed. And Ryker was quite the romantic hero who was definitely in touch with his feelings. Overall a really fun, clean read! Rating 4.5 I received an ARC and this voluntary review contains my honest opinions.

This one was cringey. The lovey-dovey talk by Ryker was a bit much. I did like it nonetheless. I really enjoyed that the Grace was a professional Genealogist. I am a family history enthusiast and everything described is exactly what I feel about doing the work. There’s a huge cliffhanger at the end that is making me worried for one of the S7 members. I truly enjoy this series.

I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Ryder Rockefeller is hiding out in Diamond Cove and being protected by some navy seals as he’s really a prince and looking for lost crown jewels. When Grace, a genealogist arrives to visit her grandmother Nancy, she has dreadlocks so Nancy has Ryder restyle her hair. Grace and Ryder are attracted to each other. WOW – who knew that charming Diamond Cove had so much covert ops going on, even involving some well known characters! The Secret Seven has opposition for clandestine. Ryker is smitten by Grace but wary of the knowledge she thinks she knows. Trying to keep them both safe from danger puts a strain on their relationship. I thought the story was charming, exciting and fun.

The senior members of diamond cove are up to matchmaking again. Grace is Nancy’s granddaughter. She is into ancestry and has a lot of education in it. She recognizes Ryker’s true heritage from the start. Ryker is a prince in hiding so he is at first suspicious of Grace. The more the two get to know each other the more the chemistry starts to spark. This is a fun book and I enjoyed reading it.

This book has romance, danger, intrigue. This is a fun romantic comedy. The Secret Seven are on the case to help another grandchild find true love. There are great characters in this story. The series is fun. Looking forward to the next installment. I don't want to give any spoilers -- read and enjoy for yourself!

Warm and sunny, just like Florida Sunshine. I like the bantering and word pictures and similes. I like the sweet relationship between Grace and Ryker. I like Sweetie the blind alligator, the camaraderie between the SEALs, and the friendship between the Secret Seven. Adventure, romance on the beach, and genealogy; what a great mix! This book is so much fun. Ryker is completely swoon worthy. Grace is a free spirit who deeply loves family and geneology. When the two meet it is instant chemistry. I loved these characters. A great book!

This is a lovely "opposites-attract" romantic comedy.. I really enjoyed it.. It is cheerful and sweet, charming and fun-to-read.. Adorable characters!.
