Patrick has no desire to find love. All the widower wants is to focus on his two teenaged kids and his thriving plant shop.Much like Patrick, Naomi isn’t looking for love either. She's more concerned about rebuilding her life after her divorce as she restarts her career as a surgeon in a brand-new state.Though neither of them believes love is in the cards for them again, when their worlds collide, they quickly realize fate just might have other plans for two of them.
Okay, its always a treat to get a soft and simply delicious love story, and this one checked all of my boxes. #1-There was a romantic side with an easy delivery #2- I could relate to the couples plight. #3- The Nobels and Knights made a few cameo visits in the storyline, much to my delight. Especially my man Ian Noble. The baby delivery and the ending were epic. I loved this latest Sweet Rapids Story. 4.8 Stars....
Loved seeing Patrick find love again after the loss of his beautiful wife, Rebi. But in walks Naomi--just as sweet and beautiful as the woman he thought he'd love forever. Naomi is the first--only woman to get Patrick's heart racing again. So smart and kind, and clearly a wonderful doctor. I hate that her ex-husband wanted to stifle and hinder her from being a talented surgeon. Some people come into your life and they dont mean you any good, and he definitely one of them! Her life with him was wasted, and I hated that for her! But my man Patrick! Mr. Plant Bae/Zaddy himself 🤣 showed Naomi how he valued her, appreciated her, respected her, and admired her medical skills as well. I loved all their interactions, and the chemistry with them was amazing!
The relationship Patrick had with his kids were a joy to watch. His daughter posting him on IG to get his social media status up for his business, Rootz was hilarious! And the conversations with him and his son, PJ, were adorable, especially when PJ tossed his father's own words back at him, "you being safe?" LOL! Absolutely loved seeing the kids grow up to be well-rounded, and firmly grounded young people! It truly did wonders for my heart.🤎
It was awesome catching up with Knights and the famous Ian Noble! I was kind of hoping for a little bit more conflict, maybe with Naomi's ex tracking her down and trying to slither his way back in with her so that Patrick could show him how a real man treats his woman! Let them rub in it his face so he could slither his was back out of town!🤣
Patrick is a widower, raising his two teenagers in Sweet Rapids. He goes to pick up his sister's sonogram for her and runs right into Naomi, a surgeon. He feels an instant connection looking into her eyes, something he hasn't felt since his wife died. But is it a fluke?
This book is going in my Top 10 of the year. What a sweet and lovely romance. It was written well, plotted perfectly, and the characters had all the charm of small town folks, with all the modern twists you need. Patrick and Naomi are trying to find their way back into the world, her after a divorce and him after losing his wife. The way they came together was so easy, so organic. She performs surgery on his son and they become friendly. He runs a plant shop and landscaping business and she buys a new house. Then they become more. And more. The build was smooth and joyful. Seeing each of them find themselves again and then find each other was a wonderful journey. I haven't such a good time reading in a long time. Patrick's family was great, especially his kids, and Naomi was able to find the new community she needed while she fell in love. Their lust was full and present, left you fanning yourself and wishing you had a Patrick of your own. Fantastic read.

🌈 Black MCs
Te Russ just has such a knack for sweet small town love 😭
There's something about widowed MCs finding love again that just warms my heart, but sometimes it's done in a way that just forgets the whole other husband or wife ever existed, or is an uncomfortable presence overseeing the new relationship. Widower romances written like this where the husband or wife who is no longer with us is respected and is a constant presence in the novel is beautiful. It supports the concept of finding love after loss not being a case of forgetting your previous partner or disrespecting their memory, especially when children are involved. It was beautifully done.
Take a trip to Sweet Rapids, you'll love it ❤️❤️❤️
Te Russ has done it again with Rooted in Love. The storyline, characters and the story's flow was perfect. This Patrick and Naomi's tale. Both characters have experienced trauma in their lives prior to meeting. Patrick loss his wife due to cancer and Naomi's husband was controlling and selfish, so she divorced him. Patrick lives in Sweet Rapids and Naomi is a new resident. Neither are looking for love but at first meet they feel that spark. This story is full of good, fun family togetherness and also some hot sexy times. Check out Rooted in Love to find out what really happened.
Patrick and Naomi's Healing Love Trys! 3.35***** Spoiler Alert
Patrick, widower/owner of Rootz Nursery Garden shop and dad of two high school teenagers met divorced and emotionally abused surgeon, Dr. Naomi Holt. After a rapidly blossoming relationship, they designed her back yard, delivered Paige's baby, got married, and welcomed their own newborn into the Bennett household, all within the first 1-2 years of restarting her medical practice and relocating to a new state. WoW!! HEA for all in this predictable plot. So much for ' discovering her self'... A Quick Read!
I have hoped Patrick would get a story since he was first introduced in Paige and Remington's story, Claimed By A Knight. Naomi was the perfect fit for Patrick he needed to find love again, and she needed to know the love of a man after her divorce. I loved these two together and the way she was with his children and them with her. I was happy to see that Patrick's in-laws were okay with seeing him move on with his life and loving another woman. Te' Russ did an amazing job with this story. 👏👏🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This was such a cute story and I’m glad that Patrick and Naomi were able to find a second chance at love with each other. These two complemented each other well and I loved their chemistry and connection. I liked how Naomi embraced PJ and Lucy and that they embraced her just as quickly. It was also nice getting an update on Remi and Paige. I look forward to what comes next from this author.
Loved reading the story of Patrick and Naomi. Patrick is a widower with 2 teens while Naomi is out of a bad marriage and getting a new start. They meet and get to know each other when she takes care of his son (since she is a doctor). This story is mature and steamy and you love to see their love grow. Can’t wait for other books in this series. Great love story and ending!
Patrick was very good at hiding his emotions for the opposite sex until Dr. Naomi showed up. She was a breath of fresh air that he needed, and he was the same for her. Naomi's ex was trifling and tried to break her. I'm glad she found herself some happiness. Lucy and PJ were amazing with Patrick and Naomi. Most kids wouldn't encourage their dad to move on.
This story allowed me to return to a town I wish I can visit for real. There isn’t any thing negative to say about it . The characters were cool and you feel the love pouring off the pages. Reading about Black love in a positive light makes reading a lot more interesting. Great writing Te’ Russ I’ve already recommended your latest book to several of your other fans. I’m just waiting for them to catch up so we can discuss it.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
This was a beautiful story. Patrick and Naomi deserved a second chance at true love and their story was everything. I love how it just flowed naturally and didn’t seem rushed. Sweet Rapids is a beautiful place and I highly recommend reading from the beginning. I love that “bad boy” Ian was incorporated as well as the rest of the Nobles and Knights.
I’ve always loved a good Té Russ story and this was no different! While Patrick and Naomi had their moments this love story was smooth and easy and I loved that! They both experienced their own version of heartbreak and it was beautiful to see how they came together!
The story between Naomi and Patrick was beautiful. Life threw the divorcee and the widower together and their love was a beautiful thing to watch. It was also nice reconnecting with the Nobles and the Knights. I can’t wait for the next book! Definitely a page turner!
I fell in love with your stories along time ago. Rooted in love was planted in compassion, trust, and turning a new leaf. I enjoyed the development of the characters, Patrick and Naomi. Although it ended well, I think I'd read if it was an update on the marriage. Job well done. This was truly a heartwarming tale.
I am a sucker for love and boy does Te Russ know how to serve it up! I absolutely loved Patrick and Naomi's story, so raw and real. I remembered reading Paige and Remi's story and wanted the author to allow Patrick another chance at love and here is that product! Just a plain good ole love story!
I love reading books about black love. Patrick and Naomi met by chance. They felt the chemistry between them. I am glad Naomi was able to find love again with Patrick. I am also glad Patrick opened himself up to love again after losing his wife. Very good book.
Excellent read, I enjoyed the characters and storyline. Naomi and Patrick are a great match. This is their journey to love. It was great catching up characters from previous books.
It’s always a pleasure to visit Sweet Rapids 💕. This was such a sweet love story that was a quick read. The story line was so heart felt, and Plant Zaddy was all that!
This book was great. They literally bumped into each other and the love begun to blossom. They deserved a new love and received it. Hope to get an update.
Loved Naomi and Patrick little love story and how they met one another and kept meeting in situations that brought them to each other. This was a great love story.
This was short and sweet with some steam thrown in. I liked our MCs together and although I felt some things were a little too rushed, I couldn't deny their chemistry.
This was another amazing read from this author. This was a beautiful finding love again, I enjoyed the chemistry and love between these two. Good read.
I never expected to find love again. But I had, and it was one of the greatest things that had ever happened to me.
This review has been sitting in my drafts since... For over a month. But it wasn't because I didn't want to share it with the masses, because I thoroughly enjoyed Patrick and Naomi. Life... That's all I can say. Anyway, Rooted in Love is about a divorcee: Naomi Holt & widower: Patrick Bennett. Patrick was previously mentioned in his sister's book, Claimed by a Knight and I couldn't wait to see how he was able to find love after losing the love of his life. When it comes to life after loss, it is a tricky thing to navigate; especially if you have young children like he did. However, Patrick was able to get through the tragedy because of the people he was surrounded with. The one thing I have enjoyed about the majority of the books I've read by Té Russ is that family dynamic. Yeah, there were a few trifling ass mamas/daddies, but for the most part, they had a great parentage and the siblings are *heart eyes*. Rooted in Love was no different. Both Patrick and Naomi had loving families. In fact, they met because he was doing a favor for his sister, Paige. In this story, the love that fell into Naomi and Patrick's laps was organic, sweet, and right on time. I loved how the children were involved and let me just say, I LOVE Lucy. She was cracking me up with her antics. The bond between her and Naomi were beautiful to see. Them dancing together for social media and Naomi performing surgery on PJ were just two of the things that solidified it for me that the family was meant to include her. And I also enjoyed seeing the fall through of all the previous characters in Té catalog. It's always nice to see them pop up and remind me of why I love them so much. Even the town ho got a reappearance. *Rolling my eyes HARD* There are so many moments in this book that made me sigh in romantic fantasy about Plant Bae and Doctor Bae. The meet ups at Knight Brewing, Rootz Nursery, and even at Naomi's place where Patrick and his employees did magic on her yard. They were a very cute couple and very deserving of the happy ending that they received. Which is why I chose the quote that I did for this review. Although it's a little lot late for an ARC, I still wanted to give my review as I promised my sis. So, thank you Té Russ for allowing me to receive an advanced copy of this book for an honest review. Sorry that it has taken me this long to get it out.
