I enjoyed reading “Nothing Is Impossible: 7 Steps to Realize Your True Power and Maximize Your Results” by Tom Oliver because I enjoy reading positive uplifting books on success and achievement. And that is just what this book is, an positive book designed to help the reader succeed and find fulfillment in life.

The author's seven steps include: Define Your Destination, Embrace Yourself, Learn from the Masters, Harness Your Creative Power, Embrace Change, Overcome Your Challenges, and Cooperate for Success. These concepts are not different from those found in many books of this genre, because face it, there aren't any new principles of success, only different ways to present them. And that is what Oliver does, he presents them in his personal unique way. There are many personal examples from the author on his own life and those of successful and famous people he's had opportunities to meet and do business with. Mixed with this are many quotes to help motivate and inspire. (Those that criticize self-help books for all being the same, etc. are often looking for the magic bullet rather than recognizing that all of these books contain the magic bullet for at least someone, and that if you just take one thing and implement it into your life to make your life better, you've gained from reading it.)

Like many books, there are parts of this book that will resonate more strongly with some readers, and different chapters that will better connect with others. But I do feel there is at least a portion of this book that will help just about anyone think bigger and dream to accomplish more. This is especially true for those who enjoy reading business and self-help books to motivate and inspire to greater things. There are gray boxes the recap the important points to remember and many exercises that if done, will undoubtedly help the person doing them find their own path to success. (I'll admit, I did some of the exercises and enjoy where they took me, but others I have left to go back to.)

“Nothing Is Impossible” will help you realize your potential to do more and to do good for the world. Oliver sets an example of an entrepreneurial approach to business and life that is passionate and worthy of following. If you enjoy self-help books, give this one a read, you won't be disappointed.

The book was inspiring and Tom has brought in fresh perspectives to some of the cliched thoughts. He has made it interesting with anecdotes some of which are probably hypothetical, but overall the book resonated well with me. The small exercises that he has introduced in various parts of the book make it useful for any workshop or to dig deep into the concepts to validate them. It leaves one with a positive thought and a feeling that passion and belief in oneself are the armors to drive you to the haven of success.

I received this book free in return for a review.

I was attracted to the book by its encouraging title, though I am not familiar with the author. When reading this book I felt like I or the author, or both of us, had both ADHD and bipolar disease in the manic phase.

It is filled with inspiring quotes and innumerable exercises to do to start you on the path of fulfilling your dreams. We are reminded about visualization, instructed about finding our true passion and “ideal in all areas of our life”, setting goals that really work, and how to accomplish everything we’ve ever dreamed of.

The author did not have an easy start in life, and in fact had a bad stutter and severe nervous tics. However, when he began to devote himself to sport, which he loved, things began to improve until he completely recovered from these afflictions, and also became fluent in five languages. Now he is enormously successful in many fields.

Tom’s secretary needs to schedule in a certain amount of time every day for him to do sports and other physical activities in order for him to achieve well-being. This really helped me to understand my little grand-daughter, who like Tom is hyperactive. She needs a couple of hours of physical activity too, but I hadn’t really understood it that way until I read this book.

Tom explains the importance of laziness, which he equates with invention and innovation. Periods of laziness put our minds into a state of free flow, and relaxation is “the key to creativity and to finding the solutions you are looking for.”

He has lots of famous, high-profile friends, and there’s a lot of name-dropping in the book. We hear a lot about Richard Branson, whom I’d never heard of, but I’m sure all the other readers will know him.

We’re told about finding our “happy place”, whichever place we can go to to recharge and replenish our energies.

The Dalai Lama told Tom about dealing with problems: if we can change the problem, we can focus on doing so, but if we can’t we should concentrate our energy elsewhere.

We should count our blessings, exude self-confidence, get rid of perfectionism, and “let the invisible hands take over”.

We learn that there is no word for self-doubt in the Tibetan language, thus the Dalai Lama was unable to answer a question about it: In his mind it doesn’t exist.

We should turn every failure into victory – in fact the author tells us that “failures set us up for our biggest successes”. We need to remove fear from our vocabulary and live life unconditionally.

There is infinitely more inspiring material in the book than I have mentioned here.

However, I would like to point out that the reason I’ve given this book 4 stars and not 5 is as follows:

The chapters are large and sprawling, and what with all the information heaped on us, some of us, as I did, may feel overwhelmed and find it hard to digest everything. It would have suited me better, and I would have found the book more readable, had it contained shorter chapters focused on more specific themes.

Still, I found this well-written book to be inspiring – it will undoubtedly inspire/push you to follow your dream, and achieve success in your chosen fields,

Whilst I am usually not much for self-help/motivational type books, this one has a lot to offer and I am happy I had the chance to read it. Whereas many of the other motivational books I have read focused on an impossible to achieve plan, this one outlines simple steps that anyone can follow to make their dreams a reality, and also has a lot of useful exercises in it that don't take much time to complete.

I was impressed by how much of his own life and experiences the author related in this book and how he subsequently related those experiences to his ideas about the path to success.

There are a lot of personal stories in this book from people who have used Tom Oliver's advice to better their futures and I ever felt like I was reading an infomercial testimonial.

I could see this book being a great idea as a gift for a university student, or just a practical handbook for anyone looking to set and achieve goals.

Overall, I have to say--this one is a winner. You should check it out.

This book has some great ideas in it, but I found that they were a bit too "type A" for what I need in my life right now.
