Diane Sweeney provides plenty of tips and examples--as well as philosophy--on how to support teachers in their work with students while keeping the focus on students' learning.

I read this with my NCVPS work pals and annotated it and everything for our book club. It was way better than I anticipated and I hope to apply some of my new found knowledge IRL, so, I guess this is a winner.

This book helped me as a pretty new literacy coach. Sweeney gives great ideas on how to keep your coaching more student-centered when possible. I especially enjoyed that it was written for secondary-level coaches. #educoach

So many great ideas here! Especially love the theory behind "coaching cycles" and focusing on the students instead of the teachers.
