Deidre Adams wasn't looking for love. In fact, since the death of her boyfriend, she'd been blissfully happy with a string of one-night stands and tawdry affairs. Being a witch meant she had a long life left to live, but being alone after having the love of a lifetime didn't bother her. Jonathon Trevors is the youngest warlock on the NOPD. He often found himself stuck with cases older warlocks couldn't keep up on or didn't want. It also meant he wasn't looking for a wife to share his life with. Work kept him busy and he liked the life he lived. Deidre and Johnathon happen to be at the same place when a murder takes place and they find themselves hexed together. They'll have to find the killer in order to get it removed or face a lifetime forced together.
Lexi Ostrow has been in love with the written word since second grade when her librarian started a writing club. Born in sunny southern California she's spent time in various places across the country and can't wait to settle down somewhere in the French Quarter when she's able too.
Lexi has been a writer ever since the second grade in some form or another. Getting her degree in creative writing and her master's in journalism she couldn't wait to get a chance to put her fantasies down on paper. Her debut novel, Torn Between Two Worlds is something that was simmering in her mind since middle school and she's so grateful to put it out into the literary world. From paranormal romance to thriller there isn't a genre she doesn't love to spend her time reading or writing.
Reading and writing are her first loves but her passion for shopping, love for yummy food and her love for all her many pets. She hopes to one day help other readers fall in love with writing as she did.
Deidre is still coming to terms with life after her husband was murdered. She's found a purpose in helping out the police, but her good deeds come back to bite her. Jonathon is focused on his work with the NOPD and determined to use his talents and skill to protect people by bringing the bad guys in. But a malcontent has had enough with paranormals being persecuted and takes drastic action. In an attempt to keep his own hands clean he kidnaps both Deidre and Jonathon and hexes them together in a complicated hex that will see to the destruction of New Orleans. Forced together by their circumstances and unable to seek assistance, Jonathon and Deidre find themselves discovering more about each other and developing feelings neither wants or expects. As things heat up between them and time runs short, it will take all of their talent and some creative thinking as well as help from their friends to stop the hex from destroying the city. This story is a great addition to the series bringing another HEA for a different couple and keeping to the tradition of the characters facing a major catastrophe that ultimately brings them closer together. I'm looking forward to the next disaster and a new couple to fall in love with in the next book.
I do love to enter in especially when it is in New Orleans. This story tempted me also with the content and the characters. Deidre draws you in with her personality and dilemma with also having experienced loss. Now Jonathon is a character that is quite intriguing with different aspects to see. Busy detective he is haha. Then when the two of them come together that is when murder and magic happen with us following both the trails. What is supposed to happen and actually does will be what we delight in seeking the answers too. What develops is also the magic in the reading that this author can weave a story with us being the captives. This series keeps us coming back for more even after we have finished the last one.
I just love this series. In this one we get to know more about Dee and Jonathan. They get involved with a hex and it's a bad one. The other characters from previous books are in here as well. The mystery surrounding what's going on will have you on the edge of your seat.
