Ruthless. Detached. Merciless . As the new Clan Captain of the Gallagher family, I must put duty before desire. The trajectory for my life morphed into different expectations the moment someone murdered our father. Life as I knew it had to cease to exist. The underworld is dark and has no place for a conscience or morals. While even we have some boundaries we won’t cross, there aren’t many of them. The time has come for me to make my own marital contribution to our clan to further increase our numbers.
Vasilisa Mikhailov is the daughter of the Russian Bratva our clan seeks to form an alliance with. The stubborn princess refuses to submit, but she is …
Mine to dominate.
Mine to punish.
Mine to break.
It doesn’t matter that there is an instant hate between us. She is a pawn in our clan’s strategy to infiltrate, conquer, and avenge our father’s murder. We have three months until our wedding- even less time for her to fall in line. The harder she fights against my will, the harder it makes me for the submission. She will learn that her defiance comes at a cost.
Vasilisa is far from innocent or pure. The more I dig, the more secrets I unravel. Her sordid past taints her for the typical heir, but unfortunately for her … I have no such discernment.

DNF at 60%. Definitely read the trigger warnings. I am giving it 3 ⭐️ because I was intrigued by the story and It was well written but Kai was so disgusting. I guess he gets better throughout the book but I couldn’t get past a few things.
SPOILERS****
He locks in a cell for 3 days with bread and a couple bottles of water because she almost got graped after dancing at a club and apparently it was her fault that she was almost graped because she was dancing like a “wh0re” as he called her. He locks her in a room with only a bed for another week. He waterboards her after he had his men cuff her to the wall, he forces smex on her on her period and she’s telling him to stop (even though she apparently liked it). He has smex with another woman right in front of her as punishment. He makes her give him an aggressive BJ right in front of his men because she flirted with one of them to try and make him jealous (that whole scene was gross). There is more but those are what I could remember. It did seem like he was maybe going to try to be nicer because he had a talk with his brother about making her trust him so she would submit to him but I just couldn’t forget how he started out. That’s all it was really about, her submitting to him. It made it seem like she was all tough but she wasn’t, she was very weak with him but he was also abusive. It’s just not believable to me that they would fall in love with how he treated her. And apparently there is a HEA though. I’m not trying to yuck on anyone’s yum but be warned. So if you like humiliation, cheating (it’s before they get married) torture, bl00d play, smex clubs, degradation, abuse, weak FMC, etc, then you might like this.
Kai saved Persephone from getting killed for her best friend. Margo didn't throw her over the balcony narrowly. Later, he resigned from his position as her bodyguard after this incident.
On another day, Kai plans to marry Mikhailov's daughter to build an alliance with him. In addition to being stubborn, his daughter is also not the easiest to handle.
A meeting between Kai and Vasilisa turns out. She doesn't look favourably upon this relationship. Thus, she has a presentiment that her future will be challenging beside him. He is temperamental and rude, though.
From beginning to end, this story captured my attention. Kai and Vasilisa share a lot of similarities. They don't give up at any cost when they wish for something. The strength of their personalities is evident in many aspects.
At last, this book is incredibly fascinating, filled with thrilling moments that keep readers on the edge of their seats.
Try it out. It's worth it.

This is book two in the Gallagher Crime Family series. It is a better reading experience read in order. While this is a story about Kai and Margo the over all story continues with finding who killed Kai and Lennon father.
Kai is going to do his duty to his clan by strengthening ties through marriage. Margo is not happy being “given” in marriage to Kai but understands her duty to family. Kai is all about ownership and submission with this arrangement something she fights. There is intrigue, secrets and lies in their story. I didn’t expect for her story or her truth to be what it is. This is definitely enemy to lover. While it ends with a HEA for the couple there is still no resolution on who was behind the murder of their father. I am guessing there will be another book to continue the mystery. Told in DPOV. Good book and I would recommend also looking forward to what the brothers will eventually do when they find the guilty party.
Well, the name of this book is Ruthless Heir, and that is exactly what Kai is towards Margo through the majority of this book. I can understand a dominant man and showing that dominance in certain ways throughout the book. What I don’t understand is the cruelty that he seems to have throughout most of this book. About 3/4 of the way through the book Kai does start to become slightly more acceptable in his behavior in his treatment of Margo, although he’s still harsh he marginally softens around her. For her part, I don’t really know how she would ever forgive him for imprisoning her and abusing her in the beginning of the book. The idea that sex, no matter how good, fixes everything is ridiculous. Still there were good parts to this book, and the storyline was pretty intense which does keep your interest in the book. I’m on the next book in the series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
A very unusual story of an Irish mafia heir and a bratva princess. Kai and Vasilisa. I feel Kai's treatment of Vasilisa was very harsh. The beginning of the book was a bit difficult to get through. However, about two thirds into the story it became extremely interesting and I could not put it down. It is a good story. I do recommend it.

Vasilisa is the daughter of the Russian Mafia and is being given to Kai to be his wife joining the 2 Mafia families. When Vasilisa is kidnapped Kai will stop at nothing to get her back and find out who is trying to destroy her family and his. The chemistry is off the charts with these two. Shes strong willed and sassy and hes all alpha male. Can they really fall for each other with all that is going on. This book is really good and you wont be able to put it down. Love S.R. Watson and Ryan Stacks.

Ok I’ve read the whole book and still not sure why she fell in love with Kai as he really is a dick. And just how do the Irish mafia guys get away with murdering so many people and never have any problems with the law?! Regardless of all that it’s an entertaining read.
I admit Ruthless Heir is my least favorite in this series. Nothing clicked for me in the relationship between Kai and Vasilisa. Which I am a little bummed about since I was excited to read about the Gallagher boys.

Kai is a ruthless alpha and has no time to tame a woman. Vasilisa is a strong feisty woman and bows to no one. Sparks fly between them the moment they meet and starts them along their path. It is one rollercoaster of a story that is filled with action-packed twists and turns that kept me glued to the pages from start to finish.

💝💘💝 Kai and Vasilisa 💝💘💝 This is a very dark romance. S.R. Watson and Ryan Stacks do a wonderful job telling this story about 2 people are forced together. They have met before under less than positive circumstances. They tell a wonderful story and this is a good series too. Put this series on your TBR list.
