Basic Reading Power, Second Edition, by Beatrice S. Mikulecky and Linda Jeffries, is a student-centered reading skills textbook with a process approach to reading improvement. Its unique structure, featuring four key sections used oncurrently, helps beginning-level students (with a vocabulary of 300 words) to become better readers in school, college, or business. New to the Second Test booklets contain reproducible black line masters to be used as additional practice or to test reading skills presented in the student books.

Beatrice S. Mikulecky

Beatrice Mikulecky holds a master's degree in TESOL and a doctorate in Applied Psycholinguistics from Boston University. In addition to teaching reading, writing, and ESL, she has worked as a teacher-trainer in the Harvard University Summer ESL Program, in the Simmons College MATESL Program, and in Moscow, Russia. She is the author of A Short Course in Teaching Reading Skills and co-author of the Reading Power series.

Suitable for teaching basic reading skills. Not so much for passages.

This book is suitable for BASIC/BEGINNER learners.

It contains two main parts :
1. many nice & interesting fables/short stories.
2. reading skills / comprehension skills.

Bardzo konkretna, przydatna książka z mnóstwem ćwiczeń poprawiającymi zrozumienie podczas czytania. Idealna dla nauczycieli i pedagogów pracujących z dziećmi z trudnościami w czytaniu.

Ja znalazłam w niej dla siebie 4 sposoby organizowania informacji w tekście, co pomogło mi stworzyć plan szkolenia dla studentów.

Polecam nauczycielom języka polskiego na poziomie szkoły podstawowej, gimnazjum i liceum.
