Future Energy

Rate this book
Right now, all over the world, people are using energy. As we drive our cars, work on our computers, or even cook food on a wood fire, we probably do not stop to think about where the energy comes from. But when the gas is gone and there is no more coal - what then? Scientists are finding new answers all the time. Get ready for the children whose running feet make the energy to bring water to their village; for the power station that uses warm and cold water to make energy; for the car that saves energy by growing like a plant ...

This book provides a lot of fundamental information about how people produce energy around the world.

Besides some traditional ways like fossil fuels, hydroelectric power, geothermal power and natural gas, I have never heard about nano power or living materials. In the bright future, I am seriously curious if people can charge their phone in their pockets or heat their clothes in cold weather by using nano cells. It is quite interesting, but really far from now.

Regarding living materials, the idea that people can ‘tell’ the materials to grow into a part of a car, or something else is certainly crazy today, isn’t it? Scientists still believe that oneday, we will never throw out anything, thanks to living materials. If we do not need a chair, it can change shape and become a bed instead. It is totally beyond my wildest dream but I cannot reject anything. Technology nowadays develops dramatically day by day makes it is very hard to predict the future! We will have to wait and see!

This book helped me be grateful for energy

I like it because it learns me about the energy in the world. I recommend it to general public, everyone uses energy. This rating rate due to objective subtraction and diversity of topics.

The book remind me once again that we have many things we can daily for natural environment and the earth. For example, we can use many things long and cherish, buy used things, don't buy things what we don't need, walk as possible as we can when we go place where we want to go, and pick up rubbish. I hope that new advanced techniques will be ensured in many fields soon.
