When he brings her to the crescendo, her deafening climax outshines even the performers…
Continuing with his journey to reclaim both his wife and their happily ever after, Paul engages Laken’s next sound . Beginning with phone fun and ending with a riveting night at the opera—complete with orgasms loud enough to damn near eclipse the performers—Paul and Laken seem to finally be back on the right track. But with Laken's betrayal now exposed, Paul’s secret still hangs between them. How will she react when she finds out he knew about the divorce all along?
The Five Senses is a series of five short erotic romances involving the same couple on their journey of reconnecting. Each novelette will showcase a sexy encounter between Paul and Laken, two consenting–married–adults. Within this series of short stories, you will find food play, voyeurism, pleasure with pain, and a little kink. Not intended for readers under eighteen years of age.
Seriously do yourself a favor and start reading!! This series is awesome. Emotional roller coaster and worth every moment! I can’t wait for the last book to be released!!
I gotta say, I was definitely into the phone sex part of “sound” but not so much the opera. I would have literally died if that was me but then again, I’m not much of an exhibitionist. Still loving this series though and looking forward to finishing it up with “scent”.

“Sound” by Minx Noir is a book about repairing a broken marriage. When Paul is told his wife is filing for divorce, he is determined to make her fall in love with him again. Laken is lonely now her children are out of the house, and she just dreams of the life and love she once had. Paul’s plan to woe his wife is to use all five senses to reignite the sparks of their love.
The book has second chance tropes, marriage, erotica, etc. The book was good, just a little repetitive sometimes. I did like both Laken and Paul’s characters; they are both compassionate and adventurous people. I gave it a 3 out of 5 stars.
This one got more intense with the spice. They have taken on a whole new fun to being the spice and love back in their marriage, but Paul finally had his moment to let it all come out. This leaves on a cliffhanger until the last book, and I wish it was out already! I read this series so quick and non stop the pass few days and I love it! It resonates so much and I’m just like woah! 🥵😍
Paul Hayward recreates his own version of the Opera scene from Pretty Woman, featuring his wife Laken instead of Julia Roberts. It's just as opulent: with the upscale opera house, the clothing, tuxes, velvet ball gowns, limos, etc. And certainly much more risque than the original version, highly descriptive when revealing Paul and Lake's "playtime activities." When a couple's exploits warrant a mention in the news...?
Yet again I am in RUINS over the cliffhanger I knew was coming! Do I really need to wait until NOVEMBER FOR SCENT??? 😭😭 they wait is going to kill me but I know it will be worth it
I love, love love this book! I discovered Minx Noir on Amazon Stuff Your Kindle Day and they have quickly become one of my favorite authors!
I was introduced to this book when it was a series of novelettes (The Five Senses) when I got the first book on Stuff Your Kindle Day. Each novelette was sexy, intriguing, intimate, and everything under the sun. I was finally able to read the fifth part when reading the complete collection in Love Me Like You Do.
Love Me Like You Do follows Laken and Paul, a couple in their 40s, who seem to have lost their spark over the years. Laken believes that she is no longer happy in her marriage and makes the decision to begin the divorce process with her husband's rival law firm. Though the rival lawyer would love nothing more than to handle Paul's divorce and beat him in the courtroom, he breaks his attorney-client privilege by going to Paul and letting him know that his wife is seeking divorce advice. Paul takes this information as an opportunity to spice things up and save his marriage.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching Laken and Paul reignite their flame and rediscover the reasons that they love each other. There was a lot of sexual exploration, giving us lots and lots of spicy!
If I could critique anything, I wish there was just a tiny bit more story. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely appreciated the smut (which is the main reason I picked up this book), but seeing a little more into their life would have added the perfect touch.
I always tell people that I am not a fan of third-person POV, but the writing in this book was so captivating that it didn't bother me in the slightest. I was so invested in the story that nothing else mattered.
Sometimes I just need a book that is fast-paced and extremely spicy to get me out of a slump, and this book definitely hit the spot.
“The only thing I will ever wake up and realize is how goddamn lucky I am to be loved by you.” He searched her eyes. “Do you understand me? That’s it. That’s all. I f—king love you, Laken, and that’s all that matters.”
I have a problem.
I am so fricken attached to these two.
All of it. The pain and sadness. The spice. Just all of it. I need the last one like yesterday.
Sound was actually my second favorite novella out of the series. I absolutely loved how the husband orchestrated this particular date with his wife. (Pun intended 😂) very creative , adventurous , & spicy 🥵
