A hot little book! Unlike a lot of other fiction of this type, 'The Cabin' actually had a story with some great characters. There was a great twist to the plot too. This debut author is one to watch. Highly recommended if you want a sexy-hot little read! Loved it! :)

That. Was. Freakin Awesome! What am amazing debut by this fab new author, I'm floored.

I admit I am a self-proclaimed romance/erotic book junkie. I've come to expect certain things when it comes to erotic Novellas, they are usually just quick hott romps without a lot of meat to the story or character depth. Well, this book blew that mold to hell. Don't get me wrong, it was definitely a hott romp right from the beginning (this woman sure knows how to start off with a BANG) but it was sooo much more than that. Even with it being a Novella, you really get a feel for the characters & connect with them.

You feel Mia's struggles & guilt and wonder what the hell happened to her. I just wanna take Nathan home & hug him, kiss him, bake him a cake or something, he was too freakin adorable with his glasses. Quinn kept me on the edge of wanting to smack the ever lovin hell outta him & just wanting him period.

There was quite the interesting & unique little twist thrown in that I did NOT see coming. Seriously, considering the shorter length that comes from being a Novella, the author still managed to suck me completely into the story. I did not want it to end, I want to know more (how's Nathan?!), and where can I find this cabin?!?! I am very much looking forward to more from this hott new author ;)

I received The Cabin as an ARC from the author, Natalie Stark and I loved it! The best thing about Novella's is that they get directly to the point! There's no need for a long drawn-out storyline and you can pretty much piece everything together once you begin to read!

The Prologue of the story starts off really strong with a really strong scene between two characters that desperately need to be together. Based off of their encounter and the fact that they ddn't want to get caugt having sex at Mia's 18th Birthday Party, i honestly thought the man she was having sex with was her Step-Father or a Coach or something! What's revealed later in the book completely threw me for a loop and made me love the story that much more!

So the story follows Mia and her internal fight to give herself sexually to her Newly-Wed Husband, Nathan. On the night of their wedding, you find Mia looking for every excusse possible to not give herself to Nathan. There's mention of scars on her back that she's ashamed of and she doesn't want to Nathan to see these yet and get scared (you guessed it, they waited untl Marriage to have sex!)

Well, Nathan gives in and understands that his Wife is exhausted from all of the day's festivities and agrees not to have sex just yet, however, when Nathan falls asleep, Mia goes into the bathroom and masturbates while thinking of a past love. The story gives you a glance at the past and how Nathan and Mia met and you honestly find yourself feeling sorry for him. Based on Mia's' flashbacks, you come to realize that she's truly not in love with Nathan, but anonther man named Quinn. And this is the man that she's with in the prologue. Because Quinn is no longer in the picture, Mia's moved on and is settling with Nathan, but only because she feels she has to. What gets to be a bit confusing is why she just doesn't go and find Quinn.

Mia and Nathan's honeymoon takes them to a mountain where they have rented a cabin to stay at. The plan is to grab lunch and park at the bottom of the mountain and hike to the cabin. Prior to the hike, they stop off at a church where Mia goes in to give her confession to the Priest. She starts off and then freaks out and runs out of the church and begs Nathan to take her to the cabin. Her intent is to finally come clean with Nathan about a secret she's been keeping. They begin the trek to the mountain, but get separated due to the fog and an approaching storm. She continually searches for Nathan when someone else calls out her name instead. The voice gets closer and who is it? Its Quinn! Why is he on the Mountain? He's the priest that wasss in the church she stopped off at and realized what her confession was going to be and had to come and find her. So at this point, I'm definitely intruged!

So Quinn followed Mia and Nathan and knew that the fog was going to be an issue, so he sent Nathan back down to the car for the night and followed Mia to take her to the cabin. Mia is hesitant to hear anything he has to say and Quinn promises to take her to Nathan after she hears him out. She doesn' t have much of a choice and decides to listen. And this is where things become interesting. The story comes full circle and you find out that Mia and Quinn have loved each other for quite some time and fell in love while he was studying to become a priest and she was in Catholic School. They snuck off to be together sexually and were caught by some of the head Nun's. As punishment, Quinn was sent away and told one story and Mia was beaten and told another story, leaving them both to believe that they no longer wanted each other. I'm not sure where, but in the midst of the conversation, they begin to make out pretty heavily.

And then comes the hot sex with A Priest! And I called my friend at this point and was like "Damn, ths Priest is getting it IN!!" LOL!! The sex scene between Mia and Quinn was so graphic and so well written that even though you know its wrong, you were secretly hoping that you could get more scenes between these two! And then its like Nathan? Nathan who??!?! LOL! Well, after a few rounds, Quinn suits back up into his clothing and tells Mia that they cannot be together, but they'll always have the cabin whenever she comes to visit since he runs the grounds and Mia gets sent home with Nathan who was worried sick about her all night long!

Ok, so why did I only give it 4 Stars if I loved it this much? Well, I would've loved a physical description of Quinn to go along with just how HOT this Priest is! Other than that, the Novella was very well written and I cannot wait to read more of Natalie's work in the future!

Although I know this is a novella, it kind of ended abruptly at the end. I was expecting there to be a little bit more story, I was HOPING for it because Mia definitely needed the extra pages to redeem herself as a character. The lead up to finding out what huge secret she had was a bit redundant. I figured how much shame she carried around, how much fear of others finding out her secret, she must have murdered a person and then molested the corpse. Nope. No such thing. In my opinion, what she did wasn't that bad. And it definitely wasn't worth making her partner wait TWO YEARS for physical intimacy, which incidentally she STILL didn't have with him at the end of the story. This was because she was busy pooncing the one guy she was obsessed with years ago, who happened to randomly show up in this remote mountain town. How is that even possible? I thought maybe there would have been some mention of this guy stalking her, and that's how he found out where she was for her honeymoon, but no. He just happened to be there, so that bit was contrived but that wasn't nearly as annoying as Mia beating herself up over what happened between the two of them years ago. I was let down at the end of this story, and I felt terrible for Mia's now husband, who would have to hear her confess about how she just had sex with someone who wasn't him. On their honeymoon. In their honeymoon suite bed. SMH.
*I apologize for the spoiler*

You may need to do a few things while reading this book.First would be finding a quiet place to read it. In the beginning,I was reading it with people around, and even though they couldn't read what I was reading, the book was so vivid that I felt as if my mind was projecting the images. I would also suggest turning on a fan to cool yourself down because this book will get you worked up! Thirdly would be a cold shower afterwards ; ).
This debut author has got it going on! The storyline had me pulled in immediately and I could relate to Mia on a certain level. Nathan is such a patient sweetheart and Quin is so naughty. ; ) . I loved the twist at the end and the way things turned out. It was as it should be.

praises to Natalie Stark for being brave enough to tackle a subject that is in the real world. This book is a hot and steamy would sujest a quite secluded place to read. When I read the first book in the series I was in the livingroom, everyone looking at me as I blushed from what I was reading. No mystery to my husband though he knew what I was reading. This is a hot little book. A must read and,if this any clue as what to is coming in the future from Natalie Stark their will be more blushing in my future.

Good writing and lots of plot punched into this novella. Good twists I didn't see coming, and a few smexy times to. So why just 3 stars? I just didn't like the female character nor what she did. The first time was ok, but the second time, was wrong on so many levels.

The Cabin: Mia's Story
3.5/5 stars

This was short, exciting, hot, and admittedly a bit repeatative.

The characters didn't have enough time to be fleshed out. But the mystery of the plot and how it unfolded was pretty addictive to read. Don't expect any good romance though. This is mainly just a fun little read if you wanna read something steamy. I may or may not try the next book in the series, haven't decided yet. But this had been on my tbr for like 10 years or so now, so it feels like a relief to finally take it off.

A great first novel from a new author. This book is going to split opinions. Why? Because the author has been brave enough to tackle real issues while writing an erotic book. I guess some people just aren't going to get it so therefore won't like it but this book is so clever on so many levels. Not only has the author written a great erotic novella the plot is good and the characters so real that it feels like you have read an entire novel by the time you reach the end of the book. The idea of the cabin is a stoke of genius too. I loved this book and will definitely read more books by this new and promising author. I think Natalie Stark is one to watch in this genre.

I would call this a how-to book on dishonesty and secrecy in relationships. Basically all three protagonists suffer quite a bit because they don't talk to/aren't honest with each other. The sex scenes are fairly hot, but clouded by all the deception.

Oh, and this is the exact same book cover for Edge of Disaster, published earlier:

This was a rather blah short story. The premise was intriguing, but the writing felt very...meh. Like the author had their thesaurus next to their computer and tried to use as many different descriptive words during the love scenes as possible. Most of which were not at all sexy. Also, the 'taboo' aspect didn't really work for me. This was too short to have enough of a back story for me to buy the couple's relationship.

Color me disappointed in yet another attempt at erotic fiction.

Mia made a mistake on her eighteenth birthday with a priest and is punished for it, leaving marks on her body. She spends four years in mental anguish, until she marries Nathan, a good man. The irony of what happens on her honeymoon is an unexpected twist to the story but it ends, as it should after the one night Mia spent in The Cabin ~ Mia's Story without her husband??? The sex scenes were hot and steamy with the forbidden aspect to add extra spice; the writing gave an in deep look at Mia's feelings and confusion to make it a great short story.

Lately I have been self-reflecting a bit. I recently decided my penchant for However I am totally for it, so if you find some, let me know!

Despite my particular... love, I only found this okay. It might be just because it is so short. I also found it overly dramatic.

So there you have it.

Not what I thought. I didn't really like it. But mainly because it is not my genre of book. I thought I would try something different. The story is well written. The only thing that irritated me was the use of the word "arse". I know that is the correct word but I would have used buttocks or butt. Just my opinion. Other than that and the fact it just was not the type of book I read it was okay.

Mia commits a sin by having sex with her priest; she is punished for it, and then spends the next few years in anguish. She meets Jonathan who falls in love with her but Mia’s heart belongs to another. They get married and are on their way to a honeymoon cabin where an unexpected visitor shows up. This story was just starting to get good at the end but then ends with more questions than answers.

Dark maybe? Gross yep! I don't get sleeping with the priest and cheating on your new husband to do it, just to realize the priest wants you as his nooky on the side(oh well to bad you got beat years ago because of me but I still sleep with you???)So now you'll come clean to the new hubs... Nah, no thanks!

This book was brilliant. At last an erotic short with a decent story and great characters. This author writes great hot scenes too! She also has the courage to write about situations and relationships others might find uncomfortable. A fantastic book! I'm a fan for life! I highly recommend.

I liked the forbidden story and how intrigued the prologue was. Although, the heroine's action was unacceptable, I didn't find her unlikeable.
It was a decent, short read.
