Passion, promises, desire, discipline...

Having been only lovers, Bella and Xander must now become friends if their relationship is to endure the hardships of longevity. Before they can begin their new life together, they must also learn to accept each other for who they really are - in and out of the office and bedroom.

For Bella, being the fiancé of a busy CEO is difficult enough, but being a full-time medical student as well, is even more challenging as she tries to find the time for her man and her education.

For Xander, living the life of a worldly CEO and being the fiancé of a hard-working medical student has its up and downs, too. But he's no common CEO - he's also a dominant and an instructor at a prestigious domestic discipline training center, something he's finally forced to share with Bella, as well as all the feelings he had suppressed for so long.

Realizing that being a submissive to Mr. Pettifor 9-5 doesn't compare to being his obedient partner 24/7, Bella thinks she has the perfect plan to strengthen their bond and to spend more time with her alpha male - to attend the school which Xander teaches at so that she learn exactly what he needs in a partner.

Submerged in the domestic discipline lifestyle, she's forced to see the man she loves educating other women, something she wasn't prepared for. Headstrong and tenacious, Bella refuses to quit even when she realizes she must be willing to be instructed by other men in order to achieve her goal of finishing the DD Program. But is she really ready for that? Xander doesn't think so and he worries the training may harm rather than help their relationship.

As Bella and Xander struggle to find their way and make their unconventional relationship work, it seems everyone and everything is trying to come between them. And so their dance of push and pull begins as they both fight their way through their emotions and fear of the unknown.

Continental Life is the 3rd book in the Continental Affair, Series. You get both Bella and Zander, POV’s in this book.

After reading the first two books Continental Breakfast and Continental Beginnings I loved their story. There is something about Bella and Xander that I just fell in love with and kept wanting more.

I totally forgot how long it is been between now and the first two books. I want to say 3 years. But things have changed since the 1st book. Now Bella and Xander are engaged, Bella is in medical school. Xander, is still running his company but also teaching students at the, Domestic Discipline Training Center. As you can tell this will take a lot out of the couple and never having the time to spend with each other. I had a hard time with Bella going to the school to learn how to be the wife, Xander needs. He has taught, Bella everything she needs to know how to please him and honestly I don’t think she learned anything from going to the school. It just felt a good fit for the story but I didn't care for it. I wanted something different instead of them trying to find the time and ways to still be close. Bella and Xander complained that they never have time for each other so when she joins the class then they are even more further apart. Just didn't get it.

As you can tell there are some issues I had with this book. I still loved Bella and Xander as a couple. I just wanted things differently. I think at the end it has left it wide open for another book. There are many things that we not said and many that were not answered as well. So, I think there is going to be one more and it’s going to be pretty big since there are secrets that will be coming out. I feel like this is what the book should have been about, instead of the school and such.

4.5 WALLA WALLA WASHINGTON STARS

Dang... I don't know how to start this review. I was doubting the necessity of Bella joining DDTC and was quite put off the first 60% of the book. Honestly, I couldn't stop thinking how horrible it would be for Bella to be instructed (or even worse, touched) by another men as it would be inevitable for her after becoming a student at DDTC. Yes, I'm conventional that way, I only want Xander solely for Bella and Bella for Xander. I couldn't see this book achieving more than 3 stars, but boy could I be more wrong?

Imagine my surprise, after my initial disappointment assuming that there's a big possibility book 3 might not be as good as the previous ones (I absolutely adored the first two books!), to find out the rest 40% just proved how talented of a storyteller Ms. Dominguez is. Forget all the doubting, I was hooked and couldn't put the book down with all the drama, twist, and secret presented in the last 40% of the book.

Again, did I think enrolling Bella to DDTC necessary? No. Xander was more than enough of a teacher for Bella and they knew it. I would have opted for a different topic/conflict to be the main base of the plot. But then, every cloud has its silver lining. The occasion has strengthened their relationship and the sweet ending has left nothing but a very big smile on my face.

I must say: I'm really sad that this is the last book of this amazing and unique couple. I love Mr. Pettifor (in fact, he's one of my book hubbies. Yes, I have several, but he is on my top 10).

In this last book, Mr. Pettifor and Bella endure their relationship and the ups and downs of marital life, surrounded by a surprise by Bella.

It's not a secret that I love Ms. Ella's writing. I think she's one of the few writers of this genre whom is thoughtful, and her writing is amazingly geek and smart, funny and hilarious, erotic and mysterious.

This book is not only the last one of this trilogy, but the end of two incredible, well developed characters, whom journey was sad, joyous, sensual, and, finally, content.

I adore Ms. Dominguez's narrative, but I must say I was a little tentative about the way this relationship was going. While a fiction book is a fantasy, I had a hard time separating fact from fiction. I had an expectation. Mr. Pettifor must do this and Bella must do what he says. I think I had an issue with the way he steered their relationship, and while I got my HEA, it got me there with too much angst and "WTF are they doing?"

I will say I was intrigued by the school. I wanted to learn more about that. And I hope Ms. Dominguez considers it for future books. The writing is immaculate. I can't get enough of her stories and the feelings evoked from her descriptions. The sexual connection between the characters were amazing. Mr. Pettifor had a hunger for Bella, and you could feel it. I could also feel Bella's longing for Mr. Pettifor. If a book can get me to feel all those emotions, I love it, but it can also be too much for me, as well; which I have to say the deduction goes to the drawn out deprivation of their true desires. I think it came from the D/s relationship where Bella just couldn't say--"Hey, marry me, or I'm out." You have to be in it and committed to the life in whichever way he commands it.

I just finished reading this book for the second time and I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I realized something that has been bothering me that seems to be a common theme in so many of these D/s stories. The main Dominant characters in almost every one of these stories is a total hypocrite! They punish their sub for not trusting them or for expressing their fears or for whatever other arbitrary bullshit offense they perceive as being disrespectful without giving the sub the opportunity to explain their reasons while the Dominants themselves are being dishonest and hiding things from their subs. Why do people fall for these guys? Sorry to rant. :( I really do love these stories.

I did not read the first 2 books in this series and I had no problem following in this book.

I have not read much on DD and so this book was quite interesting to me. The author kept me interested until the end. The dialogue was smooth and believable. Their was a good plot and the characters were very likeable.

It was so great being able to read this book for my honest review. Enjoy

Wow this is Bella and Xander’s story. This is the most amazing story that I have read in a long while. These two loving characters made my heart break, sing, and laugh out loud and wanting to scream at them at many times in this book.

This book is definitely a HOT, STEAMY enjoyable read that had me from page 1 and continued to hold me till the last page. Bella and Xander’s story can only be described as AWESOME. It definitely will show you that no matter what the circumstance that love does really prevail.

A little warning however this book has many compromising sex scenes throughout the entire book. It is not for the average book reader that is looking for tame sex cause there isn’t any in this book. It is wild, heavy, hot and just an overall amazing read. It also shows us that no matter what a couple is dealing with whether it be in a sexual nature or just the normal dealings of a person’s past that if you have the strength with a love so strong that nothing will be able to hold that love back.

Bella and Xander go through so much emotional trials in this book that at every page in this book you think will this be the end for these two characters? Or will they pull through and make it. Well that is something that you’re going to have to read for yourself cause this reviewer is not giving it away.

Bella the strong woman that has many doubts about her relationship with Xander because of the way she was treated in her past. But, putting all that aside her doubts and fears for what may or may not come she learns that she is strong, and that nothing could come between her and the man she loves so dearly.

Xander is the (DDTC instructor) and powerful business owner that has a shaded past but his heart beats for just Bella. As a DDTC instructor he teaches discipline in sexual situations, how to be the best sexual partner for a master or sir. He never once gives up his love for Bella in this entire book. As a DDTC instructor he understands that he must put himself in compromising sexual situations that may ruin his relationship with Bella. But does he put himself through them all? Hmm I am so not going to tell you.

Kudos too this author for an amazing read. This book is not for the weak that is for sure but this is an amazing sexual book that you will be wanting to read again. What I most enjoyed most about this book was that even though the doubts of Bella and Xander were apparent in their relationship neither character gave up. They fought till the end for the love that they both so much deserved.

A hot and Steamy summer read for sure with a story line that will make your heart sing.
Happy Reading.

The Continental Life concludes the “Continental Affair” series by Ella Dominguez. The Continental Life is by far my favorite in the series and is an excellent conclusion to the story. Where The Continental Breakfast and Continental Beginnings only gives us superficial or 20K ft view of the zany relationship between Xander Pettifor and Bella Darcy, Continental Life takes us deep inside their sultry relationship.

Continental Life picks up a few years after the two have solidified what they are, in love and engaged to be married. At this point, things between Xander and Bella appear to have stabilized, but Bella pushes to get closer to Xander, to understand more and in an odd attempt to become the wife she thinks he’ll need, she begins to attend classes at a “school” where Xander instructs people on how to become submissives’.

This plot twist makes for harrowing experience. Although I found myself thinking how brave Bella was for her attempt, It felt like a very bad move. I had a very bad feeling about it and it really didn’t seem it would or could ever be a good idea. Add in the conflicts of school, work and ex’s, we are taken on a Xander and Bella’s emotional rollercoaster ride. However, this premise does give them a chance for the characters to grow. This set up really helped to show us different sides of both Xander and Bella. We spend equal time in each of their heads giving us history and better understanding of their motivations. They are a unique couple and one can only root for both of them to find happiness, just hopefully in each other. As the description implies, we are exposed to the “ Passion, promises, desire, discipline... “ that is Xander and Bella.

Solid 4 star read and recommendation to read this entire delightful series.

The last one of the flower panty.
it was so romantic.
There were many things I liked in this series finale, and one tiny dislike not significant at all.
- this book was full length so not so tiny quick read novella
- thought that you knew everything already.. nah.
- alpha male? nope. dominant yes but it was fresh.
- more explanation from the previous item : the story was d/s but it was focusing on the relationship, helping a d/s relation to work, to understand each other. And the school name gave its importance. different situation, different relation and character. So it wasn't like other bdsm books.
- this story also showed how two people grew. it wasn't short span. I really liked how the author gave that length of time for their relationship and also set a time for the main story. long and short.
- I really liked the character both without exception. Bella was a strong and submissive, the latter because of Xander. it was all explained. Xander , just wow, just showing us that he was a normal man with a pretty dominant character. how romantic.
- this story didn't boast about the money. I liked it but sometimes it did but not much. that one part was my dislike. not Much but still because it felt light and great and bam name that designer or brand. I know since Xander was a high profile man.

Last though, so this whole series was pretty awesome. From quick read to a full length. And I got to read about both pleasant characters.

5 Hot Romantic Stars!!!!
This is book 3 in the Continental Affair series. And Ella did not disappoint. I have been patiently waiting the final book in Xander and Bella’s journey. To be honest, I was a bit worried about how things would end up for the pair when I read the book description. After they had finally seemed to get thing on track by the end of Continental Beginnings, I feared Bella’s acceptance into the Domestic Discipline Training Center would be their undoing. And with Bella being in medical school, and Xander heading up his multi-million dollar company, there already seemed to be a strain on their relationship due to a lack of time spent together.
The interesting aspects each of the new characters, both Xander’s fellow instructors at the DDTC and Bella’s fellow DDTC students, brought kept things flowing and added some interesting twists to the story line. As well as brought some new challenges and some anguish to our beloved couple. Testing the couples devotion to each other and to the DDTC , Xander as a benefactor and instructor and Bella’s strong will to not be a quitter or disappoint her Master.
The love scenes are off the charts HOT!!!! And Xander is a true alpha as well as a gentleman and scholar and quite a romantic. His devotion to Bella is unwavering and touching. But he learns a couple important lessons along the way too, about himself and how Bella views herself.
I loved ever word of it!

4.5 stars. Xander and Bella's story concludes as they are already engaged but take on a big challenge together, hoping it will strengthen their relationship because Bella always wants to please Xander. What follows is an interesting perspective on both sides where Xander is an instructor, but he is not Bella's instructor and Bella is a student open to instruction by other Doms. Her submissiveness is put to the test and they don't get to spend as much time together as they would like. Although Bella and Xander were well characterized before, they reveal new sides of themselves due to circumstances. The way Xander and Bella are together is so entertaining because they have a D/s dynamic perfect for them and isn't the same with others. Bella is prone to bouts of feistiness and it is only Xander who can actually control her but even he reaches his limits. Xander has always been more discrete about his past than Bella despite their open honesty but he respects her so much that he doesn't want to interfere with her life plans. Bella trusts Xander with her life but always has lingering doubts. This journey they take brings everything to the forefront and requires them to confront those issues. I've always liked Xander and Bella and it was fun to see them pushed to their limits. Bella may be submissive but she isn't weak or afraid to stand up for what she wants. It's pretty obvious why Xander adores her.

Continental What-the-fuck happened
I insta-love this series first 2 books. Even re-read it again before starting the last book.
This series incorporates a new to me variation of BDSM lifestyle.

We leave off w/Bella and Xavier getting back together. Finally realizing that their office tryst meant more to both of them than they wanted to admit to each other. He promises to support her dream of becoming a MD and proposes.

NOW: Its 3 years into med school and they are still engaged. They are struggling w/quality time. Xavier supplements by going back to teaching at the Domestic Discipline Training Center.
Bella signs up for this course during her summer vacation in hopes it will bring them closer to getter and train her to be the best soon-to-be wife.
My Issue: This book was 95% about that the training. Understand that he had already trained her to his liking in the first book.
Their engaged and live in a what I would call a modified BDSM lifestyle. Through out the series I get to BDSM incorporated in work and in a new relationship. I would expect the next step be marriage.
Her insecurities are late and a big eye roll.
And while the scenes does NOT wet my panties in this one. One scene is a repeat from the first book.
All the good stuff about them where in the epilogue. The friends, family and future.

It was hard to say my goodbyes to Mr. Pettifor and Ms. Darcy. They are such a great fictional couple.

In the previous books we see Ms Darcy fall for her boss and, if you were like me, wished for a boss of your own to demand "Continental Breakfast" every morning.

Then we see how secretly Mr Pettifor was infatuated with Bella. They eventually acknowledge their feelings for each other, of course, which leads us to the final chapter in their romance.

Continental Life gives us so much more than a love story between characters. For me it seemed like there were aspects of the book that could literally be used as a "How To" for relationships in general. While they struggle to balance their individual lives and the life they plan to build together we see them war with emotions they have within themselves as well as each other.

When Bella cried, I cried. When Xander felt frustrated, I felt frustrated. When they both hurt, I hurt. I not only read this story...I FELT it.

Ella Dominguez is one of my top favorite authors and this book is proof of why. Her writing style bring us so much more than a story. It brings her characters to life. I tip my hat to you, Ella. This was one amazingly emotional, intense read. Thank you for sharing your gift with us readers.

I received this book with a request to offer an honest review.

Our review:

After Continental Breakfast and Continental Beginnings, it seems like I’ve been through so much with Xander and Bella already, but I’m thrown for a curve with Continental Life!

Although Continental Breakfast and Continental Beginnings are novella length, they are power packed full of naughty goodness! Continental Life is a full length novel where we get to learn more about Xander and Bella, seeing the true man, and filled with even more naughty goodness.

I expected this story to be a HEA, with the story wrapping things up so Xander and Bella live a happy life together. I didn’t expect the full length novel that pulled in new situations, challenges, and characters.

It was refreshing to read about a submissive that wasn’t a masochist and how accepting her Dominant was of that fact.

The book offers many passionate and erotic scenes that make it hard to put the book down!

Overall story rating:

5stars

Overall naughty rating:

Would we recommend this series?

I have loved Ella's Continental series and this one absolutely lived up to my expectations. In "Continental Life", you see Bella and Xander living and functioning as a couple learning to navigate the distractions of their everyday life. Both are becoming frustrated and Bella decides to attend the Domestic Disclipline Training Center, where Xander (Lord Pettifor) is a benefactor and an instructor which throw a whole new set of complex into their relationships.

Bella and Xander are hot and erotic and sweet and loving and their connection holds steadfast, despite some complications from old flames, undisclosed history, differences of opinions. There are occasional glimpses into their earlier relationship, which was enjoyable and fun.

I loved this series and now have to go back and re read the first two and then "Continental Life", again. But I find that this is what I always do with Ella's books. They are so enjoyable, and perhaps even more so, the second and third times around.

Bella and Xander's relationship may have had an unconventional start, but three years later, they're still going strong. And while Bella is no longer Xander's assistant, he still likes to partake of her particular form of Continental Breakfast. While Bella only wants to please Xander, she realizes that she may have jumped the gun when she decides that she needs extra training in order to become his wife. Their relationship gets tested with the reappearance of an ex, their busy schedules, the additional training and lies of omission. Is their relationship strong enough to endure or will Xander's need to control everything break Bella's resolve?! The conclusion to Bella and Xander's love story will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end.

I don't think I could say enough good about this book. Bella and Xander are a joy to read about. I didn't want this book to end! And I never say that about a book! As with the other 2 in this series, it is written and paced to perfection. The love scenes are scorching hot, but, achingly sweet at the same time, how did Ella Dominiguez accomplish that? Xander is the best alpha male ever, yes, sometimes he is a jerk, but he is so sweet and romantic too, and he is always fair! And Bella, she is perfection, I just loved her. I bookmarked so many pages in this book, and I will definitely be re-reading all 3 in this series! Read them, they will not disappoint! Oh and I have to get me some flower panties!

4.5 Stars!

A lovely read, as usual! I'm sad this series come to an end, but it was a lovely journey(: I still wish this series was a full length novel, but I'll take any novella I can get. If you've read the first 2 books and loved them, I guarantee that you'll enjoy this one. admittedly this one focuses a lot more on love than the other 2. Not that the others didn't focus on it, it's just that this one focuses on it even more. Also, there's a little less sexy time between the two (obviously from the synopsis), but there is still just as much eroticism going on.

Thank you Ms. Dominguez for a lovely series! I can't wait to read what you have next. (:

The final book about Mr. Pettifor and Bella, and it certainly didn't disappoint. This is a much longer book than the previous 2 and Ella got a lot packed in.

Ella can tell a great story without taking 10 words when 2 will do. She knows how to write hot, sexy alpha men and sassy women. She knows how to write a sexy scene that makes the reader need to take a cold shower!

Ella Dominguez, you are brilliant at writing these kind of stories. It doesn't seem to matter if you write short or long books, you keep it flowing smoothly, you keep true to the characters and I look forward to every release. (Oooh err that sounds kinky lol)

A great trilogy!!

I won a copy of this book right before I was going to buy it and I loved it. This installment of the series was more to me. It had a lot of depth and emotion between Bella and Xander that I loved. It was easy to relate to the story as they go through many of the conflicts any couple goes through. I definitely enjoyed this book and hope to see more of Bella and Xander in the future.

I really enjoyed the first two books and would have continued with this one if it weren't for th scene at 48%.

I didn't think the author would really go that route and it was extremely disappointing. I just couldn't respect Xander after that and he just felt like a selfish asshole.
