Two formats make up this book: a theoretical approach and a practical approach. The practical approach is working with mudras. The author does a good job at tying together a specific healing approach with the relative mudras. This book acted as my introduction to mudras and was a good introduction to teach me the relevance of the energy of a hand position (indirectly taught).
When I purchased this book, I was not aware that it would basically act as a practice handbook for learning mudras.

He relies on Jose Silva's relaxation/meditation techniques which is promising. He does tend to repeat himself but it is just because he goes through each step of the process for each situation.
