i was super excited when I was picked to do a beta read for this book. I have to say, there is nothing that needed to be changed in this book. I liked this book so much better than the first one.
WARNING!!! THIS MAY CONTAIN A BIT OF SPOILERS BECAUSE I CANNOT CONTAIN MYSELF!!!
OMG! WOW! i never saw that coming and I'm still in shock and have no idea how to processed what i just read.
this book continues in the mind of the 3 main characters again. I wish their was a part for the best friend Kelly. I am on her side a lot and wish she was a main part too lol!
Crystal has done it again. She still cannot make up her mind about who she wants to be with. Honestly, i won't choose either if i had the option. Both men are delicious!!! Crystal has it in her head that she is going to be with Ryan because of their history, but when Gabriell proclaims his love for her; she has no choice, but to be with both men. Crystal has a falling out with Gabriell's ex-girlfriend. Crystal totally knocked her out in the shower when she was trying to fight crystal. After this fight Crystal befriended a girl named Tiffany. She became Crystal's roommate and both were seeking revenge. So, Crystal told Gabriell that she picked Ryan, and he was OK with sneaking around to continue their relationship. She told him it is to figure out who she wants to be with. Crystal finds herself in a sticky situation when their plan for revenge is foil with a mad woman with a gun. She will finally make her decision and not even know it!
Now, Ryan on the other hand is still having sex with Kelly. Who would stop that kind of relationship. She would come over when she was lonely, no commitment, no talking, just fooling around. then when it was all over she would just leave. Yeah, there was the occasional fight thru text message, but it all got better. Ryan was super excited that crystal said that she wanted. him. Now he is going to convince her that she wants to be dominated. HE planned many cute dates and was really winning her over. He took her to buy clothes when she was crying that she gained weight. Ryan is fighting with his dad because since his dad used his "power" card for the fight that he got into he never had to pay a fine or go to jail. which was a good thing. The only exception was that he had to work for the law firm by campus. He never had time. between school, debate team, and now this job he was trying to figure a way to make his relationship work out. Ryan does find out about Gabrielle, but you will have to wait and see what happens their. I honestly think Ryan got the shitty end of the stick for this book because he got a ton of bad news, one right after the other. Now his whole life is going to change in more ways than one. The only thing that keeps him going is the last word that is said to him before it all happens!
lastly, Gabrielle found out that Crystal wants to be with Ryan. He couldn't take no for an answer so he decided to sneak around with Crystal. meanwhile, Gabrielle continues to make his new business work with changing kids so they don't get into gangs. He put up a blog and people started donating money for him to buy his building. He gets excited when he has enough money to finally get the building that he wants, but comes up short when he also gets some bad news. Gabrielle find out some heart breaking news about Crystal's past, and is determined to make her feel better. He rights her a letter and expresses how much he loves her. Gabriell finally gives Crystal some space, but when he gets a funny feeling something bad is going to happen everything will change forever
So I wrote another book. I started this one in April of 2013 right after I finished Swept. I was excited to get Crystal's story on paper and into the hands of you all. Originally I had different ideas about how this story was going to go. I didn't quite realize that writing a story is organic and the characters begin to take on a life of their own and develop in ways that I didn't see at the beginning. Gabriel quickly became my favourite. I loved that he was trying hard to change his circumstances and do some good in the world. I liked Ryan too, it was fun to write in "his voice" and bring him to life and show exactly what kind of person he really is. I love Crystal's drive, she's not afraid to go after what she wants and I like that she is trusting even though it might be her downfall. The ending of this book surprised me because it was NOT what I had outlined. I was taking a shower (oddly enough I get a lot of ideas in the shower) and I saw the final scene and I could hear the conversation and how it would end. I hung on to it and wrote it down. Then I began to struggle with it. I was doubting it. I didn't want to end this book this way but the story demanded it. I'm still working out how this ending changes my characters and I'm sure they have more surprises for me in store this year as I finish their story. I hope you all will come along with me for the ride as I work to wrap it up this year. I don't have expected dates other than saying the final two books will come out this year. Crystal will make a choice, and lots will be reveled about their pasts as we go along. I hope you all have enjoyed reading this book as much as I have writing it, and I look forward to reading what you all have to say about it good or bad.
