Black Falcon #1.5

Rock the Band

Rate this book
After Noel Falcon professes his love to the one girl who truly holds his heart in the palm of her hand, he decides to try his damnedest to keep Lane Vance in his life forever this time. There's no way he'll let her slip through his fingers again without a fight.

The instant they are together Noel begins to plot a way to ask his headstrong ladylove to be his wife, but every attempt to pop the question is foiled by a string of mishaps that prevents him from getting the job done before he goes back on tour with Black Falcon.

Distance is a bigger challenge than Noel expects, and the one-eyed beast of jealousy raises its ugly head when Lane takes a job working on an ad campaign for Embrace the Darkness. With Striker—a man who's made his interest in Lane clear—lurking around her constantly, Noel wants to claim Lane now more than ever.

This was a quick novella that takes place right after 'Rock the Heart'. I listened to the audiobook and the change in narrator was a downer for me. The voice of the narrator just didn't work for me at all. I couldn't match the voice I was hearing with a supposedly young, rock star.

The story itself was really just a little "extra". Noel and Lane are together and working on their HEA. He wants to propose, but things keep getting in the way.

This novella really read like an extended epilogue for 'Rock the Heart'. It provides all of the warm, fuzzy moments between Noel and Lane that were left up to our imaginations at the end of the first book. Loose ends are tied up, including the lingering questions about Noel and his father.

In the end, I liked it. It was sweet, quick and cute. It was nice and entertaining enough, but I didn't think it was essential to understand the series, or that it added significantly to he storyline. At the same time, it is a good choice if you're looking for a carefree read that is really quick.

3 1/2 to 4...PUT-A-SMILE-ON-MY-FACE...stars

This "extended ending" novella to Rock the Band was just what I needed after the last few books I've read.

I needed to smile...I had a huge, cheesy smile on my face while reading this novella.

I needed to swoon...boy, did Noel make me swoon during this short story.

I needed a feel good ending...this short book definitely gave me that.

Michelle A. Valentine has an uncanny ability to make me want to read her drama-filled books even though I don't particularly enjoy the New Adult genre as a whole. They're full of over-the-top angst, soap opera style drama, and a lack of professional editing. Come to think of it though, I'm not curtain how valid that statement is considering I continually am drawn back to all that encompasses these books. LOL.

I had the extreme honor and pleasure of beta reading Rock The Band for Michelle and I can't begin to tell you how much this book rocks! It picks up right where Rock The Heart leaves off; Noel and Lane are back together where they belong and they're getting ready to get off the tour bus and spend a week together just the two of them at Noel's house in Kentucky..and you know that that means, tons o'good loving and a chance to really get to see Noel's sweet, sensitive and romantic side in full effect as he attempts to plan the perfect proposal. Rock The Band also has an awesome surprise that made me

Michelle does a great job of letting us into Noel's head and allows us to feel the immense love he has for Lane and she for him. We also get to see the personalities of the other members of Black Falcon emerge here and Michelle rocks at setting up Rock My Bed...my girl crush on Michelle has definitely grown after Rock The Band...If you've read Rock The Heart YOU. MUST. READ. THIS. BOOK!

Whoa!!! What a wonderfull novel!!!

I liked that we saw how Noel and Lanie ended up after the incidents at the end of the first book...
And i liked the fact that here we had Noel's POV!!!
It was very interesting to be inside his head...
I enjoyed the way he was showing his feelings to Lanie...
It was the best conclusion for their relationship!!!

After the end of "Rock the heart" where we saw Lanie quit from her job and to go willingly to find Noel and declare her love to him, the two of them are in their best fase... It's like a honeymoon!!! They are more in love than ever and they spent all their free time together...

Lanie's only anxiety is that she need to find a new job, so she decide to return in her hometown, but Noel is not so happy about that... Now, that he have her back, he can't live without her by his side... so he wants to get their relation to the next level and make her his forever... But he's a little bit afraid of her reaction...

But that need become more urgent when gets in the way his jealousy!!! You see, the British singer from the band "Embrace the Darkness", Striken, had a thing for Laine and he doesn't give up, even though he knows that Laine is with Noel...
So how the things will end up??? Oh, i can't tell you that!!!
But i am very happy with what happened after all...

So now, i can go in peace to find out Riff's story!!!!

"This is just the start to our forever..."

Rock the Band is a short story told from Noel Falcon's pov. It takes place right where we left him and Lanie in Rock the Heart.

Noel is excited to show Lane his home in Kentucky and although things don't go according to his plan, they become closer. Noel is one hundred percent positive that Lane is his forever.

"Never in my life had I loved another person as much as Lanie Vance-I knew that now more than ever. I had to figure out a way to make her mine forever."

Noel has big plans on securing a future with Lanie. The story is short and sweet and congratulations is in order for this couple!

Yep, I'm giving this novella a huge 5 stars ;)

I loved how Lane was willing to admit her shortcomings and the wait for Falcon was worth it. Both MCs seemed to have a reason not to trust the other, but I'm glad it worked out in the end.

I don't usually read novellas because I find them too short, and I have so many books I want to read that I feel that shorter stories are a waste of investment.

But I was asked to read Rock the Band by the author, to which I agreed. I started with Rock the Heart yesterday, which I really enjoyed and then devoured Rock the Band today.

It is super super cute. It's written from Noel's POV, unlike the first book, which is Lanie's POV. And I think this made me warm to Lanie more. When you get the POV of the man who loves a woman so wholly, you can't help but be won round somewhat.

"Sometimes you seem too good to be real."
"Now you know exactly how I feel about you."

This was almost like an extended, adorable epilogue. There's no angst or nastiness, just sweet, rockstar romance. I really enjoyed it and it's a nice little addition to the Black Falcon series, whilst readers wait for the next book in the series. And it's the perfect ending for Noel and Lanie.

"I can't be without you. The only thing that concerns me now is your happiness. I'm just asking for the chance to be your everything. I need to be your forever."

As I mentioned in my review of Rock the Heart, if you enjoyed The Sinners on Tour or The Mighty Storm, etc. you will love Black Falcon too.

"I love you so much that sometimes it hurts."

"I'm just asking for the chance to be your everything. I need to be your forever."

"You are my forever, Noel. I promise, no more running."

Rock the Band picks up right where Rock the Heart left off. Noel and Lane are together and happy. After being on the road, the band gets a break. Noel takes Lane to his home in KY for the week. Noel and Lanie get to spend some 'quality time' together while on the trip.

Even though I couldn't get enough of her body, this crazy chemistry I felt between us stemmed from more than just sex. We had something here. Love. And it was undeniable.

Noel has always known that Lanie is the only one for him. He wants her, and only her. Now, he just has to make a plan for her to become his and put it in action.

Never in my life had I loved another person as much as Lanie Vance- I knew that now more than ever. I had to figure out a way to make her mine forever.

Of course, there are a few complications along the way, but nothing that Noel and Lanie can't handle together.

A short story told from Noel Falcon's pov. Have I mentioned how much I <3 Noel Falcon??? He is the best! I love that we got closure on Noel and Lanies story. A perfect ending! On the dock- swoon! This story was the perfect mix of sweet and sexy! I can't wait for more of Black Falcon, excited for Riffs story! For all Rock the Heart lovers, this is a must read!!!

Oh, this was sweet.
It picked up right after the end of Rock the Heart and Noel and Lanie are trying to figure out how they will make things work in their relationship.
It was all in Noel's POV, which is good considering males pov's are always better and it felt like a giant epilogue! ;)

There was one really good thing:
An one bad thing:

If you like the first one, you have to read this novella! :)

Rock the Band....I seriously jonesing for another rock star read and definitely wanted some more Noel and I can't lie I wanted to see that sexy Riff! So when Michelle offerred me an arc of Rock The Band I jumped on it the minute I got it I was totaly..........................

This is told from Noel's POV and oh boy was I happy to be in that man's head. The love he has for Lanie is freaking AMAZING! Of course, this was totally amazing too................................................

Rock the Band picks up right where, almost, Rock the Heart left off so Lanie & Noel have reunited and they are en-route to his home in Kentucky where they are going to spend a week together ALONE ;) Well, Noel is already dreading Lanie leaving in a week and him going out of tour and the separation and his prepared to do ANYTHING to get her to stay and NEVER leave him. His inner thoughts were adorable and funny. There was this time they went shopping and he had to pick something up but he didn't want Lanie with him and I was............................

You think it's going to be smooth sailing right after that but is it? I mean Noel just got Lanie to agree to tour with him although he's not happy that Stryker has something to do with it and out of the blue Lanie gets a phone call that sends her straight home to care for her mother. Poor Noel he was beside himself since he didn't want to be away from her and he couldn't drop everything and go with her since he was out on tour but he wanted too!

There comes a point that Noel talks to Lanie and she indicated she had been sick and he said that's it! Yes Noel put's Lanie before the band and the scheduled shows. It was really sweet! He dropped everything to go be with her and help her and her mother. But what happens when he gets there was.........................................................

Oh yes, what these two have to deal with had me giddy. What Noel had in mind to do had me excited and what happened had me.....................

So you ask, what happens with Lanie & Noel well I can't tell you that ;)that's why you need to read the book. I loved every minute of this book! It started off...................................................

then it went to........................................................

with a litle of this thrown in.........................................

to the grande finale and OH BOY OH BOY I was so........................

This is another 5+++++++ read from Michelle!!!! Told from Noel's POV a fantastic look at love, hope and happiness :) I loved we got to experience a little bit more of Lane & Noel's story before Michelle releases Rock the Bed and we have that sexy Riff to contend with.

I highly recommend this fantastic second book from Michelle! If you know anything about me you know I'm a rock star romance addict!! I live for them and when I get a book like Rock the Band in my hands and get to experience a book that had me teary-eyed, laughing, and sighing with my big smile with my two dimples in my cheeks showing then I know I found another rock star romance to add to my I have to recommend to everybody list!! Michelle AWESOME just awesome here's to you my dear..

”I’m just asking for the chance to be your everything. I need to be your forever.”

Short, Sexy and Sweet! Rock the Band is told from Noel’s POV, it picks up right where Rock the Heart left off. Noel and Lane are finally back together and Noel want's to make sure it stays that way permanently. When Noel and Lane manage to keep their hands and other body parts off (or out) of each other, Noel spends most of his time going ”bat-shit crazy" trying to find the perfect way to ask Lane to marry him.

I’m still not too fond of Lane and I felt like this could have been rolled in with the first book since the next in the series is Riff’s story, but regardless it was an easy, sexy read.

So my night was dragging on....check Facebook and find that Rock the Band is live on Amazon.....

Then the downloading began...

We find Noel and Lane just where the left off. She isn't running anymore and Noel better not ever let her leave again!

Just when you think Noel can't get better! His POV has you swooning. Be prepared to fall in love with him all over again.

This book was sexy and sweet - I didn't expect it to bring me to the point of melting my heart, but it did. Lane doesn't stand a chance - Noel is full force in love.

This was just perfect. I just wished we could have a never ending story of Lane & Noel. I can't get enough of these two.

Michele - pulls off another fantastic read. I have already set off in my imaginary road trip following Black Falcon around like a senseless groupie. I can't wait to get a piece of Riff in the next installment of the series. I have a feeling he is going to give Noel a run for his money. If you have not read Rock the Heart - you need to first get your head checked out - then immediately get it.

Another quick novella from this series and it has left me wanting more!

Rock the Band was pretty good. Yes, I know I'm writing these reviews out of order.. but this girl totally forgot to write them!! When I see a star rating I will automatically think I wrote a review for it.. sorry guys!

Okay, so in this short ass novella Noel and Lane are trying to work on their happily ever after. Yup, you heard it here folks! He's trying to propose to this girl but things are constantly getting in the way. If I were him, I would've been like "marry me bitch" but in a nicer way.

Overall, it was cute. Adorable even. It probably could've been added to the first book as an epilogue.. but who am I to judge what the author wants? I can't wait to see what else will happen in this series!

Rock the Band is the story of Lane and Noel coming full circle, as it should be. This book picks right up where Rock the Heart left off and is written in Noel's point of view. We see glimpses of the twins, Riff, and Striker's bad self is back with a vengeance, but this story is solely focused on Lane and Noel...and their forever.

Noel never wants to be without Lane again. He has loved her since they were teenagers, and that love has only grown. In Rock the Band, we get Noel at his best. He is still the hard rocking, swoon worthy, rock star; but there is something so different about Noel in this book. He is not just the rock star hero anymore. Noel Falcon is the romantic hero, and romantic he is! Noel has grown up so much in this book, as compared to Rock the Heart. He has mended fences with many and is focused on committing to Lanie, making her his forever. He never wants to be apart from Lanie again.

I needed her with me. I didn't realize how much I needed her until I had her back and then lost her again.

She was truly my soul mate. It was practically like we were the same person.

Noel was the caretaker, the lover, the son, and the friend. His deep love for Lanie was evidenced by the way he tended to her when she needed him, the way he dropped everything to rush to her side, the way he loved and worshiped her. Noel's thoughts and feelings were so palpable, it's as though I were inside of Noel's head and heart. Michelle Valentine truly managed to bring Noel to life in this novella.

This book doesn't convey the angst as in Rock the Heart, but there is a tenseness in some of the scenes. With surprises, shockers, healing, and romance; Michelle Valentine has created a masterpiece with a mere 27,000 words. Although the book is short, it didn't feel rushed; it is truly the completed story of Lane and Noel. Kudos to the author for a well written story that flows beautifully across the pages. I recommend this book for the romance junkies who want that experience of a man so totally and completely in love with with a woman, he would willingly give up everything to have her heart's commitment.

Everything in my life was suddenly starting to feel perfect. This was what every up and down in my life had been bringing me to--this time and this moment with Lane.

"This is just the start to our forever," I whispered."

This was short, sweet and swoony!

She was truly my soul mate. It was practically like we were the same person.

It was the perfect extended epilogue to Noel and Lane's story and will be a seemless transition to the next book.

"I think it's time we live drama free for a while, don't you?"

It begins shortly after the "Forever" scene from the first book that left us all giddy. It was refreshing to get Noel's POV and to be able to feel how much he truly loved Lane. You can see his total devotion to making sure that did not happen tempered with the fear that he would mess it up. He was so sweet, loving, vulnerable, and protective. Of course, sometimes being protective can cause issues, but it just made him more endearing.

"I'm sure because I never want to mess up with you again. I can't be without you. The only thing that concerns me now is your happiness. I'm just asking for the chance to be your everything. I need to be your forever."

"I've got enough skills to keep you surprised and satisfied for a lifetime."

It is so nice sometimes to get to read a happy book without a lot of angst and turmoil. But it was still interesting and had enough tension to keep me turning pages. And I did not realize how much I really did like Noel and Lane from the first book. I picked it up late and was just going to read a few pages, and next thing I know it was 2 am and I was going to sleep with a smile on my face.

"Sometimes you seem to good to be real"
"Now you know exactly how I feel about you."

If you loved Noel and Lane in Rock the Heart, definitely pick up this sweet little read and then get ready for Rock My Bed with Riff and Aubrey.

Rock The Band is a short conclusion to the Noel and Lane story in the Black Falcon Series. Rock The Band picks up exactly where Rock The Heart (#1) leaves off. Noel and Lane are back together finding out Noel’s pregnant “girlfriend” lied about him being the father of her baby. Lane is back in Noel’s life for good since breaking his heart their senior year of high school.

Now the tour has ended and Noel is taking Lane to his cabin in Kentucky for a little R & R and alone time for the first time in years and have their happy ending. The book, more like a short story is… SHORT! Amazon says it is 85 pages but it is less then that because you get a sneak peak at Rock My Bed (Black Falcon #2), Riff and Aubrey’s story. I really wish the conclusion to Noel and Lane was put into the first book because I don’t think it is fair to pay 99 cents for this. It wasn’t my favorite rock star/bad boy romance story anyway but I did enjoy it enough to want to find out about their happy ending. The dialogue/storyline was a bit cheesy and over the top but I am sucker for any hot rock star in my books.

I give Rock The Band 2.5 Stars.

This novella follows Noel and Lanie as their relationship becomes deeper. Noel wants to keep Lanie in his life permanently. Can he make it work? A few obstacles, but Noel isn't one to give up. Loved this story.

Rock the bandRock The Band the novella to Rock the Heart has a bit of it all–hot, steamy, sweet, jealousy, and surprises. I love the story of Lane and Noel and was so excited to find out how their story would continue. Their story begins on Big Bertha and right away I was hooked. Noel is so completely in love and enamored by Lane. She is it for him and now he has to convince her. This task won’t be so simple though. Lane out of a job and heading back to Texas after her week with Noel. She too is in love but wants her own identity. Noel is not thrilled that she will be leaving soon and wants to do whatever he can to convince her to stay. He places a little bet with Lane and I enjoyed the banter and antics that occur from this wager.

Now everything isn’t wine and roses and happy, happy times. An appearance of a former rival for Lane’s affections returns to instigate and provoke Noel. Will Noel take the bait and ruin his forever? Or will he realize that Lane only has eyes for him? Hmm…

It is impossible for Lane to stay with him on Big Bertha forever and their separation happens sooner than either would want. She needs to go home to care for her mom. They stay in touch talking every morning but one morning Lane is having a difficult time and Noel wants nothing more than to go to her but he has responsibilities. Will Noel put Lane first or will he pick his career?

Favorite quotes and/or excerpts from the book:

“You are my world, and you’re welcome to dramatize it all you want.”

“There was nothing sexier than a woman in need of a good fucking, and right now, Lane was the sexiest fucking thing I’d ever seen.”

“Even though I couldn’t get enough of her body, this crazy chemistry I felt between us stemmed from more than just sex. We had something here. Love. And it was undeniable.”

“What I want is to give you a good spanking right now.” “Well, why don’t you?”

“Good, because chasing you rips my heart out. I want you to stay with me. Always. No more running.”

“Yeah, because he wants in your panties. But I’ve got news for him. It isn’t happening. Those panties belong to me.”

(by Michelle A. Valentine)

The chemistry between Noel and Lane is as intense as ever and I love that Michelle wrote Rock The Band from Noel’s POV! You get to see how deep his feelings for Lane really are and how long he has wanted her. Make sure you have a few tissues on hand because the ending had me in tears and I am not telling you if they were happy or sad. I wish it was a bit longer but that’s because I love Noel and wanted more, more, more of my rocker hottie! You will need to read Rock the Heart first (here is the link to my review) before you can read Rock The Band. I recommend you pick up both books and find a comfy spot so that you can enjoy the ride of Noel and Lane! I can’t wait for book 2–Rock the Bed!!

Thanks for reading my review.

"I'm sure because I never want to mess up with you again. I can't be without you. The only thing that concerns me now is your happiness. I'm just asking for the chance to be your everything. I need to be your forever."

I was provided an advanced copy of Rock the Band. Noel and Lane's story continues in this novella. Having resolved most of their conflicts from Rock The Heart, the pair are attempting to adjust to a life together. A temporary break from touring leaves plenty of time for these two to heat up the pages with their off the charts sexual chemistry. Noel is determined to keep Lane close to him while he is on the road. His insecurities get the best of him when his nemesis Striker, lets his interest in Lane be known. Having realized marriage to Lane is his first priority, choosing how and when to pop the question proves to be more of a complication than Noel figured. Valentine throws a few twists and curves with this novella. The couple are just as appealing as they were in Rock the Heart, and their encounters are still as steamy and sexy as always. This short read provides enough fire to satisfy reader's sensual cravings, and balances it with some really sweet moments.

I give you a four star, three S's review lol. Short, Sweet and Sexy :0) Noel and Lane are together and there is nothing he won't do to take care of her and keep her with him at all times. He is very protective of her which is sweet and their attraction, whether it be sexual or otherwise, to each other is very strong making them a great couple to fall in love with.

This is a short novella but very enjoyable nonetheless. Noel and Lane have had there ups and downs but in Rock the Band they are together and he is NOT going to let her go. What will Noel do to keep the love of his life you ask? Well one should read to find out;0) I recommend it and my only downfall was that I have not read Rock the Heart yet and I think I should have so that is my fault and I will definitely be reading it soon! I don't believe they have to be read in order but I would recommend it :0)

I loved how this book was from Noel's POV. In his POV you can see how much Noel really loves Lane. Not just see it but really feel it. I think I fell a little more in love with him myself. I loved that it brought us right where Rock The Heart left off. It was the perfect ending, or rather, prefect beginning to Lane & Noel's future. I'm glad we got to see the relationship with Noel and his father take a step toward repairment, and I was really happy that Noel and Lane's past and plan for their future, came full circle. It was a heartwarming and amazing moment. I loved Rock The Heart but I wanted more! This gave me exactly what I was looking for. Although now I still want more! Loving this series!!!

You will fall in love with Noel all over again!!

Where do I even begin?! My mind is blown! Michelle Valentine has rendered me speechless with this novella. I loved Rock the Heart but having access to nothing but Noel has made me see him in a completely new light! My favorite character from RTH was Striker but after reading this i may in fact be one of Noel's groupies! He made me laugh! He made me cry! And he made me swoon!! This is a MUST READ!! If you have read RTH then pick this up this very second! You don't want to pass up an all-access pass to Noel Falcon!!
Thank you Michelle for introducing us to these amazing characters!!

It's a short story. Extended epilogue for the fans or so I called it.
Even if I wasn't really a fan of their actions. This is not bad but a little boring. Although it has a good ending and opening for the next books.
